    If you are after a stunning 4K IPS monitor for work and maybe even a bit of gaming, LG’s 27UP850 might stand out as one of the best options available. With a gorgeous 4K IPS panel pushing 400 nits of peak SDR brightness, a quoted 95% coverage of the DCI P3 spectrum and a quoted 5ms GtG response time, it sure seems like a great choice. Luckily, I can test all those claims and more so let’s take a look. Visually I think it looks great. Styling wise they’ve gone for a very minimal aesthetic as always and I think it works really well. The stand looks good, but feels incredibly cheap.

    Does it have that "wow" factor in terms of pictures quality? I am asking because I believe this is a matt display, and matt displays suffer from reduced brightness and less sharpness.

      I´m using the monitor with a Mac mini. Don´t need the usb-c-charging either. I didn´t turn it off since i didn´t find any option to do so. So far everything worked fine and no damage or errormessage. I imagine that the monitor only charges if it "handshakes" with the connected device beeing able to charge.

    If you turn off your computer it doesn't turn off the monitor.
    To avoid joystick blinking you have to turn off the monitor separately(2 clicks using joystick) or turn off a power adapter responsible for delivering power to monitor and computer.

      @devsda1 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Thanks for the review !
    I bought a this montior and calibrated with the LG calibration Studio , but although the accuracy report shows the delta to be < 2 , I see a clear color shift towards green / yellow on skin tones compared to my ASUS PRO ART monitor ( which was calibrated with the SpiderX Elite ) - I also tried calibrating the LG with the SpiderX , it fixed some of the color shift but still - much more greenish than the ASUS.
    Any idea what I may be doing wrong ?
    Does it doesn't make sense that the difference should be so much visible with 2 monitors both being deletaE < 2 ?
    Thanks !

      It's impossible to calibrate perfectly with colorimeter. There can be huge shifts till to 5-10DE. Only calibration with spectrophotometer can give calibration close to perfect.

    • @dan_hitchman007
      @dan_hitchman007 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      A computer monitor that actually hits higher HDR specs would be a very expensive professional grade model, costing upwards of $2,000 or more. Apple displays can get brighter, but they are not professional gradeable for precise color accuracy.

    I got the cheap 27UP80-B version (most notable difference is basically the stand) for ~135 US dollars. It has a small scratch, probably dust) on the center, but the rest of the screen is pristine, it's gorgeous.

    Looking for a decent 4k monitor or TV to replace my current 1080p LG 42" TV which I also use a monitor. The monitor looks decent but that flashing standy light is an absolute deal breaker. LG's page for 27UP850-W (as that what pops up if you search 27UP850) doesn't even have a manual that can easily be downloaded... 🤦‍♂ so no way to see if you can turn the damn thing off lol...

    okay so ibought this one and now its been over 6 months i would say its refresh rate and ghosting problem is very noticable and real i would have rather gone with a 2k 144hz as i dont have a beefy pc too but if u really want to buy a 4k 60 hz then please consider samsung ones iguess or dell one . colors are very good on this monitor but as he said its response time fells like it is slower than basic hd tv in the market
