I became a Mack lover in 2015. I was in a 2014 fully equipped Mack Pinnacle. Loved that truck so much. Before that I was in a 2014 Peterbilt with Regin problem. I got so tired of that crap and a buddy convinced me to get in the Mack and afterwards I’ve been a big fan. Later I’m looking to go O/O and as bad as I want to go cheap in truck price, I want to find a decent truck but if it’s possible, this truck or the 2017 will be the truck I’ll definitely buy, if possible.
I drive the Mack Anthem and the headlight design is faulty, my front turn signals went bad, that they had to replace both headlights because the amber LED’s started malfunctioning. Bad design by Mack.
The main reason I bought my Volvo is for that communication system I like the fact that I can call him and be like what’s going on with this check engine light and for the most part they’ve been spot on I could go to the dealer and say hey I got this going on I need to get it taken care of
@@bobnewhart4318 Yes but if he didn’t know Mac is a certified volvol repair facility as well and those actually seem to be more frequent than Volvo itself
Fantastic designer's job. They wanted to get the driver's attention. So you got it guys. This thing is unbelievable..... unhappiness. It's 2018 Mr. Designer.
I’d like to have one. Then I’ll take it all across the country to find its greatness or flaws. I drive a Volvo VNL, not enough space to put my clothes and food supply. No space for my coffee maker and other small appliances I need for the road, maneuverability is great but cruise control disengages when I hit road joints on bridges and small bumps on the road. Drove a T680 too, not too comfortable driving it as I have a hard time adjusting the seats and steering wheel to my needs, dash layout and shifter needs more work. Drove a freight liner too, scared the heck out of me on the I-80 going to Salt Lake City, scared the heck out of me too up in Oregon. I’m looking for that perfect blend of comfort convenience safety and maneuverability in a highway truck. Any recommendations?
I’m not a trucker...but I’ve been following several OTR driver for a few years now. I’ve never even seen on MACK in a truck-stop or on the road in any of their videos
got that right it,s the 21 first century and they still have that stupid little step up into bunk so the seat can,t go back any further hey mack wake up
Looks nice..but poorly made interior compared to most European trucks. The place they win is in the sleeping compartment - there's more space. I don't have much experience of American trucks, but I'd like a sit and a drive in this..or a Western Star, just to see what they're like. The Scania V8 R series are my all time Favourites. Nice review, thumbs up.
There are so many things the "suits" missed on the Anthem. The biggest is hiding the important gauges behind the steering wheel. The hazard flasher switch could only be less convenient if they had put in the sleeper. Having to take my small hands off the steering wheel to reach the turn signal/dimmer lever. They should have taken Volvo's lead and taken the automatic transmission controls off the dash (This is not a push button Dodge) and put them on a lever next to the seat like the Volvo. Why not a kick down switch under the throttle pedal? The mirrors need to be moved forward about 6 inches so traffic approaching from the sides can be seen without having to lean backwards. I could go on and on, but I'll stop here.
Mack, and all the truck manufactures make the same mistake by rebuilding the truck from the ground up. They throw the baby out with the bathwater every time. They don't stop to see what works, and what doesn't, so they make the same mistakes over and over again.
They say that ground up bs just so you don’t compare it to the later models. I drove the vision before and that truck road a lot nicer than this ground up shit. When will Mack make a truck with room behind the wheel? The vision front seat was all up in the dash without and chance to recline. The anthem is almost as bad. What’s the deal with the steering wheel? Did they actually drive one of these with a trailer on it?
Need to slow the camera down.....A Lot. Looks rushed and almost blurry at times. Not really digging this new model and glad I just got a new Pinnacle so I'm good for a long while.
we just took delivery of a 2020 NO ROOM IN CAB it,s like 10 lbs of shit in a 5 lb bag mack,s where cramped 25 yrs ago nothings changed won,t even get into all the computer problem,s truck,s only 2months old biggest junk pile I ever drove
This truck is the biggest POS ever. This is the truck company's buy when they don't like their drivers. They need to make the designers and senior mgmt. spend 3 weeks in this truck to realize how bad it is.
The truck looks good going down the road. You guys should have taken it down i40 across Arizona and tried making a drive by video. These trucks are junk, all over the place. I’ve put 60,000 miles on mine and am ready to get back into a classic truck. 👎👎👎
Elijah Robinson they used to be macks now they are just a Volvo with mack stamped on them biggest pieces of shit i have ever had the displeasure of ever running down the road.

Driver retention ? All you need to do is pay them and stop ripping them off.
So fucking true!!!
Not with THIS luxury, also... Volvos are pretty.
Just because company's buy good equipment doest mean drivers stay. They need to pay drivers . And give them nice equipment.

Still love my 10 speed. I guess is it cheaper for automatics? Also how many companies are going to buy these
Michael Bleckler It's an automated manual transmission.
fuel mileage is a little better in automatics, also I've heard descending on steeper grades is a little easier.
10 speed ???

All of this expensive Aero dynamic stuff only saves 1-2 mpg on avg
1-2mpg can save you a lot on diesel when you're driving 3000-3500 miles per week
Have you done the math before you posted?? 2mpg more means I'm spending as much as 33% less on fuel... how do u figure this isn't a big deal??
Do you realize how much savings that is? That is a very big deal.
