    In this video I added in a new start screen for Slimekeep, which looks awesome in my opinion. I also tweaked a bunch of small things, added some more polish, and added a backstory to the game.
    About me:
    Hey, I'm BenBonk, an indie game developer who uses the Unity Engine. I've made and released many small games before on my itch page, though now I'm attempting to make my first commercial game, Slimekeep. Slimekeep is a roguelike, using a very limited color palette, similar to Enter the Gungeon, though with a few interesting mechanics, such as keeping slimes alive longer will earn you more money, and the ability to capture slimes to power up your slime pet.     Devtip: Secrets are fun, so designing something like as simple as having a 1% Benbonk hairdo on a slime would encourage players to replay the game and discover more.

    Suggestion: You should make some sort of notification that pops up on the players screen when the conditions have been met to unlock a certain skin. This will create a sense of accomplishment for the player rather than the player randomly stumbling upon an new unlocked skin.

    I think the casings that fall should be just slightly smaller. At there current size they kind of draw too much attention. Otherwise, great video! Love the changes!

    I love how simple the cover art is, but gets all the basic characters shown and gives you a decent picture of what the game will look like.

    I think for the slow mo shooting, you should have it for final hit on bosses or mini bosses. Also it could be a wind up shot.

    I suggest maybe in the mini map instead of completely hiding the other places you haven't been to or is not in the room to instead make those room have a really dark tint to show that you have not went there yet. And maybe even add a mini-lock, its up to you.

    The exploding barrels don't feel enough powerful in my opinion and the explosion effect could be improved - Great devlog!

    Gotta love how the "make explosions leave craters and have bullet casings eject." suggestion was implemented into the game, it makes me wish game development for every game was as community involved as you've allowed it to be.

    You should (if you want to) add a bestiary to insert lore about all the enemies and what they do and the best way to defeat them.

    you should add a "endless" mode where the slimes come in waves and in between waves you can upgrade your stuff and adding a new skin for the player after you beat "x number of waves"

    I suggest adding more variety to the wall tiles and add some floor obstacles to make it look less empty

    I have a boss idea. Make a giant red to yellow gradient slime which shoots yellow orange and red paint on the ground which would act like poison, maybe makeing a red small slime as minions. When you kill the boss the rewards are a red or yellow slime one good the other bad he has a 50\50 chance of getting a good weapon.

    Hey, great video! I just wanted to leave this to say I've noticed you saying "in my opinion" a lot in recent videos. While I may not have any experience making successful yt videos, I don't think it's really necessary to say this unless you're talking about something controversial. But when you're talking about how a sprite or improvement to the game looks, an emphatic "this looks great" or "I think this looks great" would be better.
    With that said, it's super cool to see the progress you continue to make with the game and I'm looking forward to its steam release!

    Easter egg idea: on Mac builds only, add a “Macintosh mode”, which just makes the game monochrome green.

    When the world gets really corrupted, so much that the fountain has a 100% chance you damaging you the fountain should be dried up with no liquid.

    New UI looks awesome! Slowmotion is for me not enjoyable.. So maybe add it also in the settings to turn it off or on? The Panels looks fantastic, does this mean there will be lore in the game? Or how about adding multiplayer in it if possible. With LAN or Online friends where when adding more friends which will increase the difficulty of the game

      Not sure if this was clear, but it was just something I messed around with. It’s not in the game as of now. About lore, there definitely will be some, and is some right now, but nothing too crazy. And yeah, multiplayer would be awesome but I just don’t really think it’s in the game’s scope right now

    I feel like the house seems too person like for a house. Maybe a slime’s house doesn’t look like ours, kinda like shreks house matching what an ogre would live in. Cool video!

    The green background of start screen should be changed... even the dark shade pallet is better
    Maybe have the creatures hold , raise or interact with the letters? maybe small ones sliding into till it reaches "i" ?
    Also it would be great if their numbers increase based on progression... start with the one above the logo then one type after the other start appearing when captured!
    Like unlocking members in holocure...
    Do the slimes have some kind of cheer sound? remember world of Goo? they used to make distinctive sounds like Yippee or Ohhh... maybe as collective they start chanting or something (Patapon)

    Idea: Maybe you could add different skins for the pet slime, similar to the player skins. I don't know which skins you could add, but still. Would be cool to see!

    it would be cool if the player had a choice to capture or kill the bosses and a way to somehow make a cure for the slimes and a way to slow down the corruption and have a normal mode when you defeat the slime king and one final slime pet skins.

    Always love these, am always looking forward to these. However tho, that checkerboard border doesn't really look the best. I like the first idea first just because the simplicity goes a long way. We want the people looking at the menu that opened, not really the border. Toher than that, the game just needs a little bit of animation polish, but then would be perfect!

    Suggestion: I noticed on steam that all of the screenshots in the first preview are action-less (no gun blasts, etc). It may help capture interest (for people who don't look past the first slideshow) if there were some action scenes in it. I know you have them in the gifs below, but I think people may not get that far and wishlist if they don't see the fun they're looking for in a roguelike in the first section.

    is the cut scene at the start sped up? (in the edit) cause if not i feel like it should be a bit slower because the slime bouncing animations and such look a bit to fast in my opinion. also i love the new floor design

    make a different art style to your game and also make the slimes in the background of the title screen be the ones bouncing stretching it will make the title screen look much better

      Hey, thanks dude. I mean the only way I really managed to garner such a community is from these devlogs. That’s where it all started, and that’s where I am today. So if you want to start trying to form your own community, publicly posting your progress of your game online can be a great start.

    im well aware ur color scheme is green but i think it would be cool that at different difficulties the colors would change to maybe going from green(easiest) to amber (medium) to red(hard)

    For the ui, I would try using a Gaussian blur system behind the ui. If that’s too hard, just darken the ui

    i think you should make the achievements less repetitive. instead of defeating a boss a number of times, you could make it so you have to do it in a certain amount of time.

    Suggestion: each skin could have a different ability so there is an incentive to unlock it. For example the samurai skin could have slightly faster movement speed or higher damage.
