Once I realized this was also a browser game, I decided to give it a shot, because it sounded super cool from what I've seen. I have to say, this is a well-made and very fun puzzle game! Usually I don't like puzzles (don't hate 'em, but don't love 'em, either), but this one was actually super fun! I felt so happy when I figured something out, and I almost felt like a real hacker! Super proud that I managed to beat the game without any hints (well, technically I already saw the first hint in the video, so not really-) If you like fun puzzle games, random person scrolling through the comments, this game is right up your ally! I fully recommend checking it out :D
This game was actually really fun! I enjoyed it all, although I got stuck on the first puzzle because I was inputting the credentials into the wrong window. I didn't use any hints, but I still finished in about 15 minutes. The game overall is very fun! I really didn't expect the pet name to come from there though. Very clever with the puzzles!
Just played the game and definitely enjoyed it, Nicely done! Small side note: please snap windows that are too far outside to the closest border instead of back to the center. When someone's intention is to drag the window to the side and it snaps back to the center, that can become annoying quickly... Looking forward to the next slimekeep devlog! :)
Same lol. Unfortunately started treatment at a clinic and was very burned out from a previous week-long jam. I really wish I was able to work on this jam though I think would have been fun.
You being vague about the game made me want to play it so desperately. The mechanics felt great and after getting to know the layout it got really intuitive. Had some minor hiccups comprehending some prompts, but it quickly evened itself out because there was no overflow of possibilities. Overall I really enjoyed the game, the music and the feel of it. Keep creating!
This game jam was really fun, the theme "Roles Reversed" allowed for so many possibilities. I was to happy to submit a game of my own. So impressed by this submission and by your overall progress as a game developer.
Cool game concept. I would like to see this be extended into a longer game! Some feedback: - I think it could do do well with animated cut scenes - Option to skip cutscene in botttom right (but disable skip for first time use?) - Higher pixel count for each sprite, so they can look a bit more polished and obvious, as they have more detail. Also clearer text with more pixels You nailed that email and messager sprite they look mad. Well overall the art is good though haha
This game was actually pretty fun. Puzzles were fire, music was fire, the conversation in chat+ where someone copies the scammers messages and then trolls them to the absolute maximum was fire. 9/10, short but epic game
Good idea, solid grasp of realistic scope and from what we can see here, a nice implementation! Looking forward to giving this a whirl, but congrats already! What an achievement!
This is fantastic! And pretty ambitious for a game jam. From watching GMTK, I think Mark Brown is really going to like this one! Any chance you might make the windowing code available some time? Would love to see how to do this in Unity.
I loved the game, it was fun but something that can put it to the next level would be a way to lose. For example, a timer when it runs out Benedict will get back on the computer and stop you, or when you put in the wrong inputs on things it will warn Benedict which might get you caught.
@BenBonk , i found a bug that occurs that if in the ending segment, you click the shutdown button again (or at least the place it used to be in), it will replay the ending cutscene, this can be spammed to create a text amalgam in the cutscene due to multiple instances of the cutscene playing at once
Scammer payback does the same thing but once controlled the scammers and wired back stolen money to old people before the scammer could stop it was funny 😂
If you end up updating the game (I’m just saying it seems really fun for a sequel or something) you could maybe add a notes app or something to let players jot down ideas or important information to remember but that’s just my opinion and if you think letting players remember or go back and try to find it is ok
I completely forgot what the games called, but there’s a pixel art game where you mainly play as the murderer instead of the detective that was released not to long ago. The theme really reminds me of it.
i wanted to partake in the game jam but soon realized that i had no idea what i was doing my coding skills were just not at the right level for a game jam
I wanted to do Marks GameJam as usual this year cuz I thought the theme was really unique fun to a jam. But with my limited knowledge of working with python which I'm still learning with for basic GameDev. My knowledge is very limited at the moment. I gotta admit your game does sound like a ton of fun though Ben. I love me some puzzle games. Also great inspiration to get from as well.
Its very helpful actually getting to see some of the code behind how this is done :) Not just skipping over it as most TH-camrs would (labelling it boring; which can be true). Edit: 6:04 jerma sus (we did the same thing when testing lmao)
ngl i thought there would be a better ending where you did more than just cancel the incoming transactions and actually return all the money (it saying "recent transactions" implies that the transactions weren't refunded as they happened before the shut down)
The web version got stuck after my browser extension messes with my typing. So I downloaded the windows version and like it Room for improvement? 1. opening cut scene is not skipable 2. When I have trash and files overlapping, and click on one of them, sometimes the wrong file is opened. Hint always comes before other?

Thanks for taking part, Ben! Congrats on reaching the top 100 🎉
Thank you Mark, and as usual, thank you for putting on the jam!

@davideisenberg4735 hope you’re doing good. Sending support and hearts! ❤️❤️❤️ Stay safe
@@zacharynguyen7286 thanks I really appreciate that!
Kitboga's videos are really funny so I think this was a great choice!
Really cool game idea, it turned out quite nice!
Also, thank you so much for using my palette! 💙

7:50 that reason is - disabled Hardware Acceleration
Oh my gosh, you're right! I completely forgot that I turned that off for some reason awhile ago. Thanks.

"you thought you outsmarted me, but i have outsmarted your outsmarting!"
This became really extensive really quickly. It sounds so simple but there was a lot to add
Good idea, solid grasp of realistic scope and from what we can see here, a nice implementation!
Looking forward to giving this a whirl, but congrats already! What an achievement!
Just played the whole game, and it was super fun! I only wish it was longer. If you’ve got a few extra minutes, I highly recommend checking it out!
Now you need to make a game where you scam the scammers that scams the scammers
This is fantastic! And pretty ambitious for a game jam.
From watching GMTK, I think Mark Brown is really going to like this one!

fun game! im still stuck on the bank part even with hints lol
Fantastic game, wow. I had so much fun playing it, I will try to make something like that in the future.
You were featured in the GMTK jam best games video at 0:44!
This video is fun to watch
Genius idea! I'm sure it'll be a hit! :)

This was really good. Hope Mark feature this game on his upcoming result video.
I saw that BenBonk has SponsorBlocker. My man 💪💪
Lol shhhhh
I wanted to join this and after dedicated 48 hours, I made a capsule move... jumping was too complicated to complete before the deadline
You have quite a recognizable style at this point.
i love watching scammer payback, and all that channel

Cool concept! Good luck with the jam result
#21 ON OVERALL? damn this game is epic.
I really enjoyed the game, thanks for making it!
thank you for making a character named franklin in the game it really means a lot to me lol(even if hes evil lol)
Cool game!
A tip for using chrome: try enabling hardware acceleration in the settings that might fix the laggieness.
Scammer payback does the same thing but once controlled the scammers and wired back stolen money to old people before the scammer could stop it was funny 😂
I really enjoyed playing through your game!
I didn’t manage to play the game yet, but I sure hope a character is called “Selor”. Because it’s “Roles” Reversed
Good job, it was a fun and great game to play!
As a great scambaiting enjoyer I approve. Would love to see this expanded in some way into a full game
This was fun, reminded me of when I was in my early childhood spending my time on AddictingGames or Miniclip. Great job dude!

Man, this game was amazing!
7:40 yeah, Unity is like that
I think... I also had issues with it so I assume it's just like that
You should watch other scambaiters like Scammer Payback and more like Jim Browning.
It's look so amazing, great graphic and animations, good idea, great music, very cool!
