Great reviews on the Rebar and Surge. You just can't go wrong buying Leathermans. They always go up in value, are super handy/well built, and are easy to sell if you ever need to sell one. That Surge is one tool I'd take into the apocalypse with me, lol. The lighter Rebar is great for hiking.
It’s a beat mode multitool. I gave mine to my son to use at college. They are due for a new design, be it a Surge or Wave “Max” version or new platform. I really like the FREE P4, which is more for light home repair. I love Leatherman’s. They are pricey, but they are the absolute best.
Yes! I really liked the Free series too, shame I can’t carry it due to the magnets. Like I said in the video, that Rebar did all I needed it to do. But with the Surge it opens up more possibilities, maybe it eliminates a trip to the truck to grab my wire cutters since I know the Surge can handle the task. I’m stoked to start carrying and using it. Definitely the last multi tool I’ll need. Not the last one I’ll get though probably 😉
You can buy the leatherman pant clip for it but I’m glad I heard you say your getting a sheath. The pant clip wobbles and can actually come off. I have the American bench craft leather pouch. Expensive but worth it. One piece leather. No stitching.
Yeah I thought about the clip, but this thing is so heavy I think it would weigh my pants down haha That sounds like a nice sheath! I just got the leather Heritage sheath Leatherman brand.
Man the only thing its missing is a spring for them pliers to keep them open. Unless you don’t mind. Does your old pair have a spring? What you doing with your old pair anyways? 🤔 hehe. Oh wow I might heading down another rabbit hole. Oh piss lol
No, I’m not aware of any Leatherman that have springs. I’m used to it, they’re easy to manipulate. I’m not sure why they don’t spring load their pliers, maybe because the springs break easily? Not too sure. I’ll keep the Rebar as backup, or if I want to carry a lighter tool 😉

@@doodysdaggers my wingman is has spring loaded pliers, but I carry the charge plus the most.
My leatherman has scissors like that wouldn't operate unless I pushed it all the way back into the locking position. That may help.
