    I discovered Dino Jr in 1987 on Penn State college radio. Rarely does a band still sound like they did 30 yrs earlier. These guys make me feel young.

    Lou has quietly and almost without notice become my favorite bassist of all. His style is so loose and cool. And he has sweet moves. DJ are what a rock band should be. One of the few remaining rock bands still around.

    Dinosaur Jr (for me) from the 90's is the equivalent of Black Sabbath from the 70's. Uniquely has their own tone that separates them from every other band in the mix.

    This is coming from someone who discovered the band last year, huge fan of Flea and Claypool. Barlow just has IT.

    Definitely some better Dinosaur Jr performances on TH-cam (both musically and camera-wise)...but it's free, so who am I to complain? They absolutely smoked the stage in New Haven, CT last month. Love the new album so much!!!

      @@gthayerdc One of the only good things about living in CT (and not much I can think of!) is that Dinosaur Jr plays here quite a bit, cuz Northampton, MA is nearby. They come back to New Haven in the fall AND they played that awesome show in Morris last September. (in the middle of a rural field!) It would be great if that footage ever gets released, they were on fire that night as well.

      Just my opinion. The album grew on me while i was on vacation in Georgia and Iowa. Itll be one of those albums thatll forever remind me of those days.

      @@absolutelynonameslef idk dude, i will admit the mixing is not the best, but i think the band is as together as theyve been.
      J's songwriting is on point and really gives out some unique feelings. The guitar solo on I Ran Away is one of the best Mascus solos ive heard.
      Then theres the two Lou Songs, that have such a mature sound to them and break up the album pretty well. Every song is solid.
      Lou even said in this intervieq that it gets better and better with time, and Murph talked about how he didnt even have to think to much when learning the parts.

      @@xavierrhcp13 Garden and You Wonder are the highlights of the album for me. They are stuck in my head but they're more Sebadoh than Dino. Most of the J songs are just ok to me. Maybe it will grow on me with more listening.

      @@erad67 Lol yeah. And when most songs have the same words just slightly different, I assume it would be difficult to remember them, otherwise you'd be singing the same lyrics for each song.. But when you play the crap out of your guitars and drums like these guys do, lyrics come second to emotion.
      I've listened to Said The People a bazillion times, but I still can't figure out if J is singing Save Me or Say To Me in the chorus..lol. Love them though, my favorite band for sure!
