    A couple of months ago, I started taking 2 grams of pure vitamin C powder (Q brand ascorbic acid) and 1 gram of pure L-Lysine powder mixed with water daily. My intent was to drop my blood pressure from 130ish over 85ish to less then 120/80 as a result of the new blood pressure rules. It is now 115ish over 70ish, the lowest in my adult life! I never would have believed this yet here I am. I am not nor have I ever been on blood pressure medication or any other daily medications.

    Thank you Dr. Berg for teaching us about the dynamic chemistry of our bodies, in such a fascinating, enjoyable & informative way, so we can take excellent care of our bodies. I used to work in the medical field, with exposure to pathology. You have so increased my learning. I was never into pharmaceuticals. Holistic, dietary is definitely the way to go.

    It's really easy to juice a lemon, lime or a small orange. Just one. They don't have that much sugar or carbohydrates -- some but not that much. I buy whatever is on sale or is inexpensive, and I juice one per day. I have a ton of raspberries in my garden also. You can buy frozen raspberries -- and eat just a bit at a time.

    Hello Dr Berg.
    *Please help....*
    I tried taking Vitamin C as a supplement (buffered, ascorbate complex...) And it changed my life, in the sense that it made me so happy, focused, reduced brain fog, anxiety, and improved verbal fluency as well as social confidence. It's like the best thing that happened to me since taking B Vitamins.
    This was NOT a placebo.
    However I get weird side effects, such as bleeding gums, bone pain, and the worst of all: heart palpitations and terrible sleep apnea. Chest pains.
    I don't know what I should do.... And why does this happen?
    Consuming a lot of fruits and veggies with vitamin C isn't even cutting close to being as effective as supplements.
    I appreciate your reply/answer/future video about this..... Thank you.

    Glucose competes with Vitamin C for absorption, so if you have chronically high blood sugar from a grain-based, carb-heavy diet, your absorption rates will be low. Eating healthy without overloading on the carbs allows blood sugar levels to stabilize, and maximizes Vitamin C absorption.

    Vitamin c is even more effective when combined with Lysine. For vascular health it should be supplemented just using basic absorbic acid . All the great discoveries since the 1930s have used absorbic acid which most animals can make and at one point we were able to make.

    Dr Berg is 100% accurate...I've personally noticed that Vitamin C tablets in high amounts does the same job as Tylenol. It also does the same job as sleep medication and does a better job than melatonin. Melatonin gives me headaches. 5000 mg Vitamin C gives me the deepest sleep. Now ofcourse you can get Vit C from food sources but I prefer pure vitamin C....the actual vitamin nutrient....not Vitamin C from food. I've also noticed that consistent intake of Vitamin C promotes regular bowel movement....I don't need to take a laxative, probiotics, or any harmful rectum unclogger. I just need to take high amounts of Vitamin C.... Lysosomal Vitamin C or Effervescent Vitamin C is the best. Try to stay away from tablet form Vitamin C.

    First of all thanks a lot for the awesome videos and precious information you are sharing with us. Highly appreciated.
    So, lately I hear again and again about "Liposomal Vitamin C" that somehow allows taking Vitamin C in much higher doses in one shot compared to traditional forms of Vitamin C and from what I was told from one of the sources here on youtube was that it should have solved "gout attack" pain immediately in a few minutes. I would really love to hear your view about this fresh developing form of Vitamin C and how it might interact with the body
    Kindest Regards

      @woodymoto2326 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Vitamin C only stays in your system for about 3 hours. They say that you should take 30 mg every 3 hours until your stools get soft or runny. When stools get soft or runny, it's a sign that you've saturated your system with vitamin C. Then, you can back off a little on your dosage until your stools are just comfortably soft, not runny, to maintain a good level of vitamin C. Best to get your vitamin C from food. You can also make your own vitamin C powder from citrus peels or rose hips. To make it from citrus peels, dehydrate them at about 90 F degree temperature in a dehydrator. Once dried, grind up the dried peels into a fine powder (using a coffee grinder). Put the dried C powder into a dark amber glass Ball Jar and store it in a cool dark location. You can add the powdered vitamin C to water, lemon water, juices or smoothies.

    If all of the vegetables are made up of collagen then by eating them, does this improve the collagen in our skin as well as giving us a good source of vitamin C ?

    Yes, I agree with BA below. We need allot of Whole food vitamin C, like 400-1200 mg daily preferably from food. If you can’t, then get a very high quality C from Innate Response, the C 400 tablet, not the powder, or Pure Synergy C.
    Ascorbic Acid actually makes things worse, but it’s the one you see on most shelves. It’s literally synthetic, not a natural form and is only 10% of the whole food C molecule.
    Dr. Berg needs to get much more specific about allot of the supplements. Vitamin A as Retinol found in high quality cod liver oil. Methylated B vitamins or nutritional yeast like Sari foods, but not all B’s are in it. Understanding Hormone D and not supplementing it, vs sunshine and D in natural foods like mushrooms vs added to milk or any other fortified food. Iron is a major issue, not iron found naturally in beef or other foods, but the inorganic iron added to processed foods since 1941 that we have all ate or continue to eat at one time or another. This is very bad stuff. This iron has stored in our bodies creating iron induced oxidative stress that’s killing us slowly. Have any moles, skin blemishes, age spots or skin tags and other noticeable skin issues? The iron being stored in tissues called hemosiderin is what is expressing on our skin. As you age and accumulate iron over your lifetime, this iron starts to express this way the older we get. I highly recommend getting a full blood iron panel, donating blood 3-4 times a year to reduce your iron overload over time. Ferritin give you a clue but is not a good measure of iron. Better is hemoglobin and best would be hemosiderin, but that test is done by research labs only and I’d expensive. Other option might be a MRI measuring iron deposits. Also likely expensive. Gene testing for Hemochromatosis is fine, but only confirms a gene mutation and is not a cure or a way to fix it. Everyone needs this blood work. It’s sad it’s not a routine test nor covered by insurance unless your doctor orders it, but he must justify it to the insurance companies or they won’t pay. Anyway, get the test done ASAP!

    Will vitamin c reverse the arterial plaque?

    • @ME-br6lt
      @ME-br6lt 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It should, because that plaque is there to cover up the inflammation and scarring in the artery. Vitamin C will heal that scarring through collagen production. After the scarring is healed, the plaque will not be needed and should dissolve/leave the artery wall.

      Longevity can be correlated to grip strength and thigh circumference.
      A workout of 40 minutes twice a week or 60 minutes once a week won't harm you. Depends on your goals. Slow steady progression.
      Eat clean even if eating to bulk.
      Combine it with HIIT if you want to train the heart but avoid long steady state cardio.
      Doing intense 60 minute workouts twice a day, 5-6 days a week for years on end will probably screw you up eventually. Why do it.

    Firstly super informative simple video as per usual Dr Berg, Also have been there with all the symptoms that you mentioned. And again not know what was causing my problems. And as always and like all your super advice the remedy was there all the time and I did not know. Stop eating the crap and sugars and head for the chlorophyll.
    A topic I would love you to cover would be, is there any benefits of prolonged fasting i.e going 2 or three days with out eating or is it best to eat just once a day?
