    vinegar and baking soda with a wire brush will clean up the copper corrosion (blue) on the armature.

    I am needing a little 2.54mm or .10” steel ball, sits at the end of the armature on my minn Kota trolling motor, thinking I hv correct parts diagram. I hv a older minn Kota riptide RT74 trolling motor. Given to me cause my center console along with am my fishing gear was stolen off my truck including my 2,500 dollar bumper, insurance hasn’t paid filed it suspecious.
    Part number 116-025, ball-steel, weird set up never seen a steel ball ride on edge of a spherical brass bushing before. But on this trolling motor it does. Any help greatly appreciated

      I finished my rebuild today. It was full of water. Part of one of the magnets broke off. I hope that only causes me to lose a little power. Great to see the grandkids. Good stuff.

    Thanks for sharing. Now I know what to expect when I open her up to replace the wire with 8ga. I'm pretty sure the copper part you cleaned is called the commutator. The armature is the windings or the part that the windings are wound around. Don't take that the wrong way, not trying to call you out just trying to help. I bet Minn Kota hates this video lol. Thanks again and good work!

      @@WaldensWorld Nice, I'm glad you made it. I'm sure it's helped a lot of people. I know what you mean man, with all the different parts and names for them it's easy to get em mixed up and on top of that you're on camera. You got it done and it works so thats all that really matters. Tight lines!

    oh yeah sand paper goes a long way on shaft where prop pin goes as well as brushes and armature

  • @backyardfishing1

    My 50 lb thrust started to vibrate real bad could it be the prop or the armature? It is probably 15 years old and has been through hell and back but didn't know if I could have bent the armature or if the the prop is out of wack. It is one of the weedless wedge props. Could it be just bearings? Any suggestions would be helpful! thanks!

    • @WaldensWorld
      @WaldensWorld  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Check prop first . Mabey take prop off n see if it's running smooth !

    Is it possible to remove the motor from a 45# thrust and replace it with the motor off a 80# thrust trolling motor? if so, will that make the 45# a 80# trolling motor?

    • @WaldensWorld
      @WaldensWorld  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it is !

    • @WaldensWorld
      @WaldensWorld  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The #80 n 45 is based on the wires inside the motor itself !
