    Great video buddy... I just picked up a motor guide 12/24V pedal steer and it doesnt work! You answered my first question - if I can use my battery charger to test the dang thing lol. So pulling the top "the head" off Ive found a 3 prong terminal with two black and the green wires attached- they were burnt- stripped back and cleaned the connection still no power... I guess I should check the Low end "prop assembly" for more burnt wires or rusty brushes etc???? Any Ideas or helping hints would be Awesomely Appreciated! KyFishOn Nakia THANKS

    Not 100% sure but did you forget to put the washers back on the shaft? They go inside the housing against the c-clip washer on the shaft.

      They are in there for sure. I rebuilt 3 of these last spring and they were use all last summer. Going to pull one apart soon to see if water got in. Thanks for the comment and have a great day.

    i just fixed two out of three of my "dead" tm's. water rusted the 3rd so bad it's toast. am going to flex-seal the outsides to prevent h20 entering my last two. pray for me

      That's the whole key. These motors are still running with just using the plumbers grease too seal them. Haven't taken them apart since I made this video years ago. Enjoy your weekend.

    Supposed to use lubricant that’s graphite-based

    You would think that they would use some O rings on something that works under water O rings work miracles on stuff like that

    • @fyfo1432
      @fyfo1432 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do you know how to remove the speed control board? I need to resolder the blue wire but when I removed the board there were a bunch of wires attached to the housing so I couldnt really pull the board out.

      I do not know. I am learning about speed Controls now on a different motor. Starting to figure it out. Thank You for the question.

    Any one have water in lower motor housing how to fix no visible cracks guessing seal?

    • @ZPDSurvival
      @ZPDSurvival  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it is the seal on the shaft. I used plumbers grease when I reassembled. I need to check this rebuild. It was used all last summer without a problem.

    China... in 2010 I put a salvage 1992 mitsubishi mighty max back on the road. I bought a lot of Chinese produced parts cheap on the internet. within 5 years, every single part had failed. Thats the other side of the "made in China" thing. They need us as much as we need them... without the US, who would buy all their plastic shit?
