From what I remember there’s not a bunch of trailers for Judgment, this game released back in March of 2013, the same year Microsoft we’re moving to Next gen consoles So they were focusing all there assets on that instead of this Plus Epic Games were pretty much forced to make another gears game before selling the franchise to Microsoft who then sold it to The Coalition Studios which is one of MS’s small studios and so far only developed Gears UE, 4 and 5 And About the Control Changes, Epic enlisted the help of studio People Can Fly who had previously developed First Person Shooters and they wanted to make it easier for newer players, but that didn’t really go well as it received hate from all the old players And to add on When I saw this notification I was like “hold on a sec I thought this was going out Tuesday” Then i thought to myself “isn’t she in Australia”🤣 Sorry for the long comment, I tend to rant sometimes
Not sure what the dates are but I’m sure in Gears of war “Coalition’s end” Baird and Cole meet just after e-day and fight grubs together for the first time. Baird was just a grunt like Cole and didn’t command his own squad. What I find curious is that in this game Baird is a Lieutenant and has his own squad. That’s pretty fast: I wonder if it’s an oversight or he did something to get those promotions?
@@brianmain8386 True that. One thing I've been curious about is why the COG have Lancer MK2s in this game. Because if I understand the lore correctly, the Retro Lancer was still standard issue when E-Day came and the idea for the chainsaw bayonet came when Tai killed Locust with a chainsaw when he and Marcus were out of ammo. I don't know the exact time frame but I doubt 6 weeks is enough time for this to happen and for someone to invent the MK2 and for that to be the standard issue weapon long enough for enemies to have already killed numerous COG soldiers to have confiscated these Lancers off them. Either I'm missing something or Judgment messed up in that regard to the lore.
@@chandleralves698 I'm pretty sure judgement messed up the lore. We can also ask why the hammerburst in judgment works the same as the one in GOW 3 when it's supposed to be a prequel to GOW 1. It could be explained away but it's still immersion-breaking

Part 2: Characters: 1.-Garron Paduk: Gorasnaya citizen and UIR commander, he is now a COG soldier, there is not much that can be said about him although it can be mentioned that this soldier has a great hatred for the COG, 2 years before the Pendulum wars were to end, he went on a mission to a rocket base, with orders for Paduk and his men to seize the OZP-11 base, they were to launch a prototype of the hammer of dawn, although he would not be so in agreement with The idea, almost achieving its mission, the COG would launch a lightmass bomb-missile created by Professor Elliott, exploding at the base and burning half of his face and body, 2 years after the war, in the early days of the E-Day, would be attacked in Gorasnaya by Karn and his army, luckily surviving this encounter and would be rescued by the COG and later recruited and assigned to the Kilo platoon, although he still hates the COG for many reasons, as a curiosity is that Paduk knows that the COG tortured in horrendous ways UIR prisoners, which causes him more hatred, in addition, they allowed him to use his UIR armor freely although technically it is mandatory that he have a standard COG armor, making an exception, Paduk only considers his squad as the only ones who tolerates and does not dislike them within the COG. 2.- Sofia Hendrick: a citizen of Halvo Bay, she is a woman who enrolled in the Onyx Guard program at the academy during the pendulum wars, serving as communications chief during these, has training and masters the use of fencing, short barrel pistol and lancer to the point of being almost a prodigy, winning hundreds of condecorations, one day before she could finally graduate as Onyx Guard, E-Day would begin, after this event Sofia would join the infantry with many onyx guards, where she, for being a cadet would be demoted to a simple soldier by her superiors and would be sent to the Kilo squad, although in the end this would be the best thing that could happen to her instead of staying with the useless onyx guards, she during the pendulum wars would meet Professor Elliott ( designer of the J.A.C.K program and lightmass bomb-missile), where she would enter into an affair with him until she discovered that he was a married man with 2 children, where she would break connections with him after working so much together, Sofia as she knew Elliot a lot, it would occur to her to go with Kilo to the academy and mansion to discover a way to kill the fearsome General Karn and his army currently in Halvo Bay after 1 month of the war. 3.- Colonel Ezra Loomis: he is a colonel and Onyx guard who served the COG since the pendulum wars, being a very capable gear although he very much detested the UIRs, since they tortured prisoners of war in very cruel ways (without know that the COG did exactly the same thing), he is very nationalistic and during the first months of the war, he minimized the locust a lot, seeing them as simple beasts with some reasoning, (during the campaign he will be a character that you can possibly hate), Loomis accuses the squad of treason for events that will be seen later (since In Baird, Loomis observes a dangerous Hero), at the end of the events told by our protagonists, hecarries as his main weapon a boltok of the first locust that he killed (being a Bolter) a funny thing, since at the beginning of the war, they prohibited the use of locust weapons in the COG army, how ironic. 4.- Kurt Elliot: Elliot was one of the most capable scientists within the COG, creator of the light-mass missile, the JACK project with dozens of specimens for the pendulum wars and a few used within the locust war, he helped Adam Fenix even to develop a little the final project of the hammer of dawn, within his last years, this job as a teacher at the Onyx Guard academy in Halvo Bay although before he had as a pupil Lieutenant Damon Baird, also having an affair with the cadet onyx Sofia, although for a few months only, this would create few missiles but the best known is that of Halvo Bay and that of the cosmonaut base launched that would burn Paduk, this character would leave a legacy of a robot from the JACK series that would help Kilo in his mission to kill Karn, although Elliot and his family perished 1 month after the war, committing suicide in his own home after learning and hearing that his family had died at the hands of the Locust in a settlement of E Vaccination. VILLAIN: 1.- 59:25 General Zamil KARN: villain and main antagonist of this title, he was born as a deformed locust drone during the pendulum wars, this one due to its morphology, was crossed out and marginalized from the locust horde, one day, while traveling part of the hollow even without lambents , he would meet a unique beast that he would call "Shibboleth", he would find it in a deplorable state and without one of its limbs, seeing it alone and abandoned, he would see himself, he would find someone like him, and for This, he would ask the real scientist of the locust horde for help, agreeing, the scientist would help KARN, building a robotic prosthesis for the beast, after this, he would even equip it with military weapons, Karn soon after would gain the appreciation of the beast and even let him tame him, because of this, and because of the great intellect that Karn possessed, he was promoted to Guard Theron among the locust ranks to fight in the civil war against the lambent, 3 years before E-day, karn would be promoted to Zamil, being the third in command of the military branch below Raam, 1 week before E-Day, this would plan together with Raam and Skorge mainly the attack on the human race of Sera, where Raam and Karn would plan an attack towards the UIR in Gorasnaya, Karn would go in person to liquidate the remains of that army almost extinguishing it with his troops and his beast, 6 weeks later he would attack the house of the Onyx Guard, Halvo Bay, mainly the Onyx Guards academy to avoid more of this military branch, which, he would achieve with success, earning the fear of the surviving UIRs and Onyx "The monster of Halvo Bay", a very capable locust that will be a great villain to defeat, although that if, his story is somewhat tragic and / or moving. He wears a light armor of red tones with striking black, since this is not designed for hand-to-hand combat, due to Karn's condition, although he has a small arsenal of weapons at his disposal such as grenades and a pistol. PART 1: GOW JUDGMENT .... one of the worst titles in the saga but it has its charm, the fourth title in the saga and unfortunately the last one directed and made by Epic Games in 2013 with People can Fly, despite not being the best game, is one of the most important at the level of history within games. WARNING: A LOT OF INFORMATION, I will divide in 2 parts this because it’s a lot and I know that it could be horrible, overwhelming or boring to read so much text together. 1.- This game is set in the city of Halvo Bay, 1 month after E-Day. 2.- Halvo Bay: it is a city located in the nation of Tyro. The area is known to be a tourist city for its much wealthier citizens and to have a strong military influence on it, with many military centers and museums in the city such as the well-known "Academy of Onyx Guards", mansions of COG politicians. Regardless, this city would be ravaged by the locust in the early days of E-Day, spearheaded by Halvo Bay's nightmare, General KARN. 3.- In this title we play as the Kilo squad led by Lieutenant Damon Baird, the Augustus Cole train, the onyx guard cadet Sofía Hendrick and the UIR Garron Paduk in one of the most destructive missions of the saga in Halvo Bay. 4.- In this title, the Kilo squad was the first to actually confirm the existence of lambent wretches 1 month after E-day, although at that time it was only thought that they were explosive wretches by imulsion. 5.- 12:19 The GZ18 Markza Sniper rifle: It is a semi-sniper rifle used by the UIR during the pendulum wars and early E-Day by UIR and COG, equivalent to the COG longshot, it is a rifle with a great cadence and range but with a remarkable recoil and does not do the best damage, in fact this rifle has an extra variant also used by the UIR called "Markza MK1" that has no scope and a shorter barrel for medium range combat, the Markza GZ18 was responsible for the assassination to many Gears by UIR hands in the war but against the locust this weapon would now be used by them, going on to create another weapon in the future. 6.- 53:43 Breechshot: It is a weapon used at the beginning of the Locust War by the Locust Horde, this being the equivalent of the COG Sniper Rifle. And curiously, it turns out to be a modified Markza, this weapon was used by the RAGER after taking them as war trophies after their victory in Gorasnia against what was left of the UIR army after the pendulum wars in the first week of E-Day, where they would mercilessly attack this side under Karn's leadership to dismantle just a simple extra annoyance, the rifle has a knife to hit on the bottom of the weapon, the scope was disarmed and replaced with a lensless sight, the barrel It was shortened a little and the power of the weapon increased although its rate of fire decreased, being one of the deadliest weapons of the horde in the first month of the war. 7.- The Kilo squad was the first to report the existence of the Serapedes in Halvo Bay, 1 month after E-day, after finding them in a warehouse of the military museum in Halvo Bay next to their nests. 8.- You remember very well the UIR, the pendulum wars, this would end with the victory of the COG after 80 years of combat when the COG created the hammer of dawn, the UIR would be almost destroyed, leaving it very weak in places like Gorasnia although this place, In the first week of E-Day, it would be ravaged by the locust under the command of Karn, where they would kill them in the majority, leaving Paduk as one of the few survivors, the UIR would be almost exterminated in a couple of days by Karn and his horde. 9.- Same way as with the Wretches, Serapede, Kilo would be the first squad to report the locust class "Cyclops" with evidence and testimonies, the locust with a large helmet capable of using COG lancers taken from hundreds of corpses of gears, these they were very deadly in war and were the nightmare of the Onyx Guard. 10.- When you play as Sofia, at the beginning you can see a sign on the left that says "Carmine Life Insurance", which means that the Carmines or some relatives of those we know worked in Halvo Bay, how ironic their job is right? 11.- Booshka grenade launcher: as the second weapon presented in the UIR saga, it is an automatic grenade launcher capable of firing several projectiles that bounce full of an imulsion charge in bursts, they were widely used in the pendulum wars but in the locust, by the scarce resources, little by little the use of this weapon diminished to the point of becoming almost obsolete, in this title you can use it to close emergency holes or kill many enemies in a group. 12.- The berserker that appears in the mansion is the second sighted outside of Ilima in the saga, since the first was by Jace as a child and some others would be detected in the same city in those 3 weeks, although many of them would even be captured by the COG to study the female sex of the locust. Enemies: 1.- 1:10:38 Meet the RAGER: This locust is one of the strangest in the saga because they are the only ones that have an extraordinary ability to metamorphose during risky situations as the last card to survive, they have a very basic armor and chains on the chest with the locust logo on the back, they are very intelligent but when they transform, they lack almost all intelligence, where, to go from attacking with their breechshot in strategic groups, they would now attack with their hands in a frenzy with nothing to stop them, They go from having a slim body with brownish-gray skin to red with black along with a great hardening of it, the nails and teeth calcify and lengthen to be more lethal and as an extra a pure charge of adrenaline that does not allow exhaustion until liquidate their targets, although if they are very threatened, they can return to their original state. , these Locust, as a curiosity, it is believed that they possess this ability thanks to the real scientist of the Locust horde who experimented with these with imulsion, and due to unknown agents, their bodies reacted in this way to the imulsion, creating the Ragers, where they only came to use in Halvo Bay and in Gorasnia during the first month of the Locust War (recomendation: while they are in their normal form, use your chainsaw and kill them). Gears Judgment best backstory for Baird and Cole. I began to notice how Baird and Cole are like opposite to each other, Baird being the pessimist and Cole being the optimistic. I love Gears Judgment alongside RAAM’s Shadow.
I still remember when this came out, and everyone kinda laughed at it and thought it was a really bad gears game. . . then gears 4 and 5 came out. Now most people consider this one of the classics.
Tbh, I've really enjoyed Gears 5. Not only it was beautiful graphically, it also felt like the most polished and innovative so far. The free roam mechanic is up to one's taste ofc. People say the story was bad, but so it was in the older gears, where a lot of the story was basically "go there and do this", rinse and repeat. Although it slowly picked up in the middle of the 2md one or so and went full send into the 3rd game. I understand the nostalgia from the older games, but it doesn't mean that it makes them flawless or something. Like people complaining about gimmicky boss fights in gears 5, but the entire gears franchise was based on that kind of mechanic from the very beginning and no one seemed to be complaining back then.
Still don't agree that 4 or 5 are bad games. 4 is very reminiscent of 1 with the darkness and grittiness it had. Some moments were more like 2 or 3 with the bigger fights. 5 had the horrible choice aspect for del and jd, and that wasn't great. I didn't like that they made jd act like a turd and distance himself from his friends and that they talked bad about him from time to time. But it was a story aspect. Judgement had legal issues because of cliffy b leaving and gave us the best gears game they legally could at the time. Then the coalition getting full rights to the gears universe was our breakthrough. People are just too prone to hate because people in general hardly understand progression and most people are small minded when it comes to change, new characters, deeper story digging. Especially when you have years of head cannon that people have decided is actual cannon despite zero confirmation. Every gears game has been thoroughly enjoyed by yours truly. I don't have that weird predisposition to hate stuff like everyone else seems to. That's why I enjoy watching people that have never played and don't know about gears because they generally like all the games, and their grievances are usually honest. Judgment just had cracks in the lore for the Lancer MKII. That's it.
Try to do all the declassified missions so that you can unlock the extra campaign of the game easier. You need get 20 stars in total so that you can play it :)

I'm glad to see you're playing Judgement I remember pre-ordering the game picking it up at midnight release and blasting through the campaign finishing it like at 4 or 5am just to wake up for school like 2 hours later hahaha great memories. also You'll learn more about the UIR and Paduk's people in later games also I know it might seem tedious or boring for videos but getting those collectibles really does help give extra stuff about the story.

Tips Jade - great job on your progress. Get executions with rifles and scorcher u will burn enemies from inside - do chainsaw battles against enemies with cleavers cause they tend to block your shots - sawed off shotgun r ONLY close range not distance and get an execution with it u won't get another opportunity with other weapons executions - u can only carry 2 weapons just for this game only - do headshots on Ragers u know the locust that transform it's the only way to kill them faster
I just beat this game for the first time a few days ago. I purchased this the day it released, but for some reason I didn’t like it at the time. Now I love it and it’s so damn good!

Fun fact, they broke Cannon with the Lancer because the Mark 2 lancer wasn't even thought of untill a year after E Day, this game is 6 months after. Epic said the reason was fun factor over continuity.
Man judgement had such a negative receiving when it launched mainly because if the button changes and the god awful multiplayer, but the campaign was still good. Anyways I hope you react to the gears 4 trailers before playing it, they where in my opinion the best trailers from the franchise
Yeah Judgement controls were different I remember that being a big complaint at the time they were closer to Call of Duty type controls and the campaign had that arcade-y feel having those stars to fill up and stuff.
I have to say I enjoyed the storyline for this game and for the DLC. I still play offline versus against bots (as there is literally no players on this game anymore lol). Also I loved the idea of Overrun,mixing Horde and Beast Mode together
ok Gears of War Judgment, let me provide a little backstory without any spoilers. this game is set in Halvo Bay around 6 weeks after E-Day so it is much earlier on in the war against the Locust...which is something to remember because it means not all the Locust creatures have arrived yet. it the story of Baird and his kilo squad and a rather uh...questionable choice they made. here are the major characters. Lt Damon Baird: well we know Baird...he hasn't met Marcus Fenix and Dom yet to my knowledge. Pvt Augustus Cole: formerly a thrashball superstar, Cole is good friends with Baird and is looked up to by many people. Cadet Sofia Hendrik: Sofia is a cadet of the famous Onyx Guard Elite...but as she never finished her training full Onyx Guard don't consider her Onyx Guard. Pvt Garron Paduk: formerly a Major in the UIR (the side the COG fought in the Pendulum Wars) Paduk joined the COG after E-Day like quite a few UIR survivors (because their nations were slaughtered by the Locust and COG Hammer of Dawn combined). Col Ezra Loomis: Loomis is a no nonsense Colonel who led the forces at Halvo Bay among other places...he greatly disapproved of Baird's actions. Following the events of this game (in the books or comics not sure which) he is killed in the final defence of Halvo Bay...which is why he is never seen elsewhere. General Karn: The main villain of this game and one of the four locust Generals...he is the second to die chronologically. After him RAAM took over leadership.
I'd love to see you do all the executions in these games. Some of them are very fun and enjoyable when you do them. If possible, you could even react to a video where someone does them. @@GamerJoobChannel I suggest Gears 4 and 5 Multiplayer because in 3 the Retro Lancers will kill you in 3 seconds which is annoying and Don't use the Lancer in Gears 5 because it's useless
I haven't played judgement since it came out the different studio and layout kind of bugged me a bit, but I may have been a little harsh this is cool. I have been slowly seeing the progression of your roots in your hair growing out which is neat.
Playing this now just got it, I like it! Feels the same as others. Run and gun, I think everyone is attached to Marcus too much he's a character. It's good so far, it's up there with three, one is the worse I'd say, but even it's not bad.
This game has a bit of a negative stigma to it, but that's mostly because of the multiplayer, which was less than stellar. I saw from one of your other comments that you've beaten the game already, so I hope you liked the new characters, like Paduk, who is the first UIR main character we've gotten, the UIR being the enemy to the COG during the Pendulum wars before the Locust came on E-Day. The UIR are also the ones who came to help the COG at the end of Gears 3 on Azura who were on the ships. And it's always cool to see the Onyx guards, the all black special forces COG. I and many others wish to see a game that is based around an Onyx Guard squad
Something you might want to try on your second half of Judgment playthrough, is that you can use rifles while carrying the boomshield in Judgment, in fact it's the only game in the entire Gears series to date you can do this. You can even fire while holding the shield up while it's protecting you 👍 Update: I see in another comments you've finished the main campaign, but the same applies to Aftermath 😊

JEEZ you made it through so much of this game in one episode! So you spotted stim grenades but I don't blame you for ignoring them, what they do is heal/revive your friends when you throw it at em Also while downed, if you stay still and spam A you'll eventually revive yourself Bit of constructive criticism, you seem really bad with shotguns but REALLY good with longer range weapons like the markza or longshot, and I'm sure you'd also be good with the hammerburst if you rapid spam that trigger and zoomed in xD But on that topic, I recommend just not aiming at all with the sawed off, it's ment to deal the most amount of damage when your in your target's face, it's probably the only weapon that, in my opinion, if your aiming, your probably using it wrong But for story stuff!! Let's talk about Paduk and the UIR, before the locust invasion, the COG (Coalition of Ordered Governments) and the UIR (Union of Independent republics) had a 100+ year long war over the newly discovered super fuel imulsion, which just worked better than fossil fuels, solar, or nuclear power, which is very ironic since imulsion is what created the lambent in 3, the COG won that war and when the locust attacked about 6 MONTHS later the UIR barely had the resources to fight at all, which is why they've allied together, but that's a big reason why Paduk and the guy giving the trial had major beef
I am very bad with shotguns or anything that requires me to get close haha! But i feel much more comfortable with the range weapons haha! The Markza and Breachshot were my favs!
I love this game so much gears of war is one of my favorite FPS game on Xbox and also the Onyx Guard they just look cool and don't really care about the Gears it's so funny. really hope they do a onxy gears game play as one
I just wish they used the Retro Lancer more because the Chainsaw was made for the locusts so it should not even be around before they come up, anyways Judgement is way underrated. Love you Joob
You mentioned in the video Jade that you wished you could run with the heavier weapons, such as the Mulcher, mortar etc. Well, you will be glad to hear that in Gears 4 and 5 you can indeed run with them, and not only that, when you go through doors and other transition animations, you take the weapon with you, it doesn't mysteriously disappear 👌 (you're going to love Gears 4 and 5 by the way). I thought you'd like the Marksa rifle, it's akin to the DMR, Carbine and Light rifle in Halo. I like it too, it's accurate, has multiple bullets in the clip, and you can carry lots of bullets for it, what's not to like i say 😊

@@ShadowNova300 that is the point. how I play itself is good but to be a game of gears it is bad it feels different, I still remember all the commotion and controversy that arose in the Gears community here in Mexico when it came out, but I suppose people have taken a liking to it over time
Most people didn't liked this bze it was arcade type...not an issue for me but Cole was too silent when he was a bit young I may say or in this game which is okay...but this is necessary to play and know the history of all characters and the story. Keep it up...you doing good job ❤️
So i think nobody told you nothing about those onyx guards so i decided to copy info about them from gears wiki since you're playing game where they're mentioned pretty much "The Onyx Guard is an elite special operations unit in the COG Army that serve directly under the head of the Coalition of Ordered Governments. They had operated at the sole discretion of the Chairman during the Locust War before vanishing into COG files and vaguely recalled memories, when the unit was transferred to Azura to help defend the people who were there and the resources the COG had on the island. Formed of loyal, battle hardened Gears, Onyx Guard had its own air wing, tank battalions and troop regiments that were capable of fighting on the frontlines and behind-enemy-lines. As such, they were not the only special operations unit in the COG Armed Forces, the other one being the 26 RTI Special Tactics Group."
Garron Paduk is a veteran of the Pendulum War their equivalent of WW1 he is not a Cog he is a solder of the URA AKA the Union of Independent Republics the Gears of War equivalent of the USSR he got his scares from a light mass missile during the Pendulum War and that is why unlike the cogs his armour is green with no cog symbol on it and the Locust War is their equivalent of WW2.
The least popular of the Gears games along with 4 and 5, but I for one believe the campaign is pretty underrated, and actually quite solid. Still below the original Trilogy story, but definitely better than the newer games. My biggest gripe besides the multiplayer, was the unnecessary changes to the button layout. Not a good change

This'll be a fun series! A lot of GOW fans were unhappy with judgement because of how different it was but I liked it. The controls are a lot smoother and the missions have a lot of replayability Anyways, good hunting Jade!
Never really understood why Judgement got some of the negativity and poor initial sales that it did. Sure it's campaign is somewhat short, and I believe the original price was a full 60$, but the worldbuilding lore was on point, interesting new things were added (guns, enemies, characters, game mechanics, etc.), and the Declassified challenges spiced things up and were entirely optional. It had two new multiplayer modes, too. Wikipedia says that pre-ordering customers from Wal-Mart were offered either GoW 1 or 2 *for free*, while those that did so from other sources got a free Classic Hammerburst and any multiplayer skin of their choice. Was it mostly the price tag on release? The 'arcadey' elements they experimented with? God forbid game devs actually try new things for their games (and get permission to even do so from their higher Corporate Overlords) instead of regurgitating the same thing over and over again with minor visual changes. At least I think we can all agree - looking back on things now, with the current blase acceptance of payed DLCs and Microtransaction hell - that what it offered was bloody *great*. If only we knew....

Honestly this game is a tad bit over hated. Sure the game mechanics are a bit hard to get used two and I don’t know why they would make you only carry two weapons (including pistols) but I quite liked the story, the characters, it has the cole train come…ON! Also remember paduk, (the Russian sounding guy from the UIR) he’s gonna be important in a later game.
Just popping in to say that you deciding to not say yes to a declassified mission made my dna shake. Your free to play how you like but I literally shuttered.
Especially when almost all objectives are really easy and fun, i think that's how is supposed to played and there's some voice lines that you can only hear if you accept

From what I remember there’s not a bunch of trailers for Judgment, this game released back in March of 2013, the same year Microsoft we’re moving to Next gen consoles
So they were focusing all there assets on that instead of this
Plus Epic Games were pretty much forced to make another gears game before selling the franchise to Microsoft who then sold it to The Coalition Studios which is one of MS’s small studios and so far only developed Gears UE, 4 and 5
And About the Control Changes, Epic enlisted the help of studio People Can Fly who had previously developed First Person Shooters and they wanted to make it easier for newer players, but that didn’t really go well as it received hate from all the old players

Not sure what the dates are but I’m sure in Gears of war “Coalition’s end” Baird and Cole meet just after e-day and fight grubs together for the first time. Baird was just a grunt like Cole and didn’t command his own squad. What I find curious is that in this game Baird is a Lieutenant and has his own squad. That’s pretty fast: I wonder if it’s an oversight or he did something to get those promotions?
@@brianmain8386 True that. One thing I've been curious about is why the COG have Lancer MK2s in this game. Because if I understand the lore correctly, the Retro Lancer was still standard issue when E-Day came and the idea for the chainsaw bayonet came when Tai killed Locust with a chainsaw when he and Marcus were out of ammo. I don't know the exact time frame but I doubt 6 weeks is enough time for this to happen and for someone to invent the MK2 and for that to be the standard issue weapon long enough for enemies to have already killed numerous COG soldiers to have confiscated these Lancers off them. Either I'm missing something or Judgment messed up in that regard to the lore.

Characters:
1.-Garron Paduk: Gorasnaya citizen and UIR commander, he is now a COG soldier, there is not much that can be said about him although it can be mentioned that this soldier has a great hatred for the COG, 2 years before the Pendulum wars were to end, he went on a mission to a rocket base, with orders for Paduk and his men to seize the OZP-11 base, they were to launch a prototype of the hammer of dawn, although he would not be so in agreement with The idea, almost achieving its mission, the COG would launch a lightmass bomb-missile created by Professor Elliott, exploding at the base and burning half of his face and body, 2 years after the war, in the early days of the E-Day, would be attacked in Gorasnaya by Karn and his army, luckily surviving this encounter and would be rescued by the COG and later recruited and assigned to the Kilo platoon, although he still hates the COG for many reasons, as a curiosity is that Paduk knows that the COG tortured in horrendous ways UIR prisoners, which causes him more hatred, in addition, they allowed him to use his UIR armor freely although technically it is mandatory that he have a standard COG armor, making an exception, Paduk only considers his squad as the only ones who tolerates and does not dislike them within the COG.
2.- Sofia Hendrick: a citizen of Halvo Bay, she is a woman who enrolled in the Onyx Guard program at the academy during the pendulum wars, serving as communications chief during these, has training and masters the use of fencing, short barrel pistol and lancer to the point of being almost a prodigy, winning hundreds of condecorations, one day before she could finally graduate as Onyx Guard, E-Day would begin, after this event Sofia would join the infantry with many onyx guards, where she, for being a cadet would be demoted to a simple soldier by her superiors and would be sent to the Kilo squad, although in the end this would be the best thing that could happen to her instead of staying with the useless onyx guards, she during the pendulum wars would meet Professor Elliott ( designer of the J.A.C.K program and lightmass bomb-missile), where she would enter into an affair with him until she discovered that he was a married man with 2 children, where she would break connections with him after working so much together, Sofia as she knew Elliot a lot, it would occur to her to go with Kilo to the academy and mansion to discover a way to kill the fearsome General Karn and his army currently in Halvo Bay after 1 month of the war.
3.- Colonel Ezra Loomis: he is a colonel and Onyx guard who served the COG since the pendulum wars, being a very capable gear although he very much detested the UIRs, since they tortured prisoners of war in very cruel ways (without know that the COG did exactly the same thing), he is very nationalistic and during the first months of the war, he minimized the locust a lot, seeing them as simple beasts with some reasoning, (during the campaign he will be a character that you can possibly hate), Loomis accuses the squad of treason for events that will be seen later (since In Baird, Loomis observes a dangerous Hero), at the end of the events told by our protagonists, hecarries as his main weapon a boltok of the first locust that he killed (being a Bolter) a funny thing, since at the beginning of the war, they prohibited the use of locust weapons in the COG army, how ironic.
4.- Kurt Elliot: Elliot was one of the most capable scientists within the COG, creator of the light-mass missile, the JACK project with dozens of specimens for the pendulum wars and a few used within the locust war, he helped Adam Fenix even to develop a little the final project of the hammer of dawn, within his last years, this job as a teacher at the Onyx Guard academy in Halvo Bay although before he had as a pupil Lieutenant Damon Baird, also having an affair with the cadet onyx Sofia, although for a few months only, this would create few missiles but the best known is that of Halvo Bay and that of the cosmonaut base launched that would burn Paduk, this character would leave a legacy of a robot from the JACK series that would help Kilo in his mission to kill Karn, although Elliot and his family perished 1 month after the war, committing suicide in his own home after learning and hearing that his family had died at the hands of the Locust in a settlement of E Vaccination.
VILLAIN:
1.- 59:25 General Zamil KARN: villain and main antagonist of this title, he was born as a deformed locust drone during the pendulum wars, this one due to its morphology, was crossed out and marginalized from the locust horde, one day, while traveling part of the hollow even without lambents , he would meet a unique beast that he would call "Shibboleth", he would find it in a deplorable state and without one of its limbs, seeing it alone and abandoned, he would see himself, he would find someone like him, and for This, he would ask the real scientist of the locust horde for help, agreeing, the scientist would help KARN, building a robotic prosthesis for the beast, after this, he would even equip it with military weapons, Karn soon after would gain the appreciation of the beast and even let him tame him, because of this, and because of the great intellect that Karn possessed, he was promoted to Guard Theron among the locust ranks to fight in the civil war against the lambent, 3 years before E-day, karn would be promoted to Zamil, being the third in command of the military branch below Raam, 1 week before E-Day, this would plan together with Raam and Skorge mainly the attack on the human race of Sera, where Raam and Karn would plan an attack towards the UIR in Gorasnaya, Karn would go in person to liquidate the remains of that army almost extinguishing it with his troops and his beast, 6 weeks later he would attack the house of the Onyx Guard, Halvo Bay, mainly the Onyx Guards academy to avoid more of this military branch, which, he would achieve with success, earning the fear of the surviving UIRs and Onyx "The monster of Halvo Bay", a very capable locust that will be a great villain to defeat, although that if, his story is somewhat tragic and / or moving.
He wears a light armor of red tones with striking black, since this is not designed for hand-to-hand combat, due to Karn's condition, although he has a small arsenal of weapons at his disposal such as grenades and a pistol. Boltok while riding the Shibboleth.
2.- 1:00:19 Meet the great and poor Shibboleth, a beast that is very dangerous, fast, strong and armored, prepared for any threat, the details of this beast are very vague in the canon, because, as with the Tempest, it is almost unknown nothing of this animal, being technically unique in the saga, although it has traits of different beasts such as the Corpser, the seeder or the same wingless tempest, similar to a beetle combined with a spider.

PART 1: GOW JUDGMENT .... one of the worst titles in the saga but it has its charm, the fourth title in the saga and unfortunately the last one directed and made by Epic Games in 2013 with People can Fly, despite not being the best game, is one of the most important at the level of history within games.
WARNING: A LOT OF INFORMATION, I will divide in 2 parts this because it’s a lot and I know that it could be horrible, overwhelming or boring to read so much text together.
1.- This game is set in the city of Halvo Bay, 1 month after E-Day.
2.- Halvo Bay: it is a city located in the nation of Tyro. The area is known to be a tourist city for its much wealthier citizens and to have a strong military influence on it, with many military centers and museums in the city such as the well-known "Academy of Onyx Guards", mansions of COG politicians. Regardless, this city would be ravaged by the locust in the early days of E-Day, spearheaded by Halvo Bay's nightmare, General KARN.
3.- In this title we play as the Kilo squad led by Lieutenant Damon Baird, the Augustus Cole train, the onyx guard cadet Sofía Hendrick and the UIR Garron Paduk in one of the most destructive missions of the saga in Halvo Bay.
4.- In this title, the Kilo squad was the first to actually confirm the existence of lambent wretches 1 month after E-day, although at that time it was only thought that they were explosive wretches by imulsion.
5.- 12:19 The GZ18 Markza Sniper rifle: It is a semi-sniper rifle used by the UIR during the pendulum wars and early E-Day by UIR and COG, equivalent to the COG longshot, it is a rifle with a great cadence and range but with a remarkable recoil and does not do the best damage, in fact this rifle has an extra variant also used by the UIR called "Markza MK1" that has no scope and a shorter barrel for medium range combat, the Markza GZ18 was responsible for the assassination to many Gears by UIR hands in the war but against the locust this weapon would now be used by them, going on to create another weapon in the future.
6.- 53:43 Breechshot: It is a weapon used at the beginning of the Locust War by the Locust Horde, this being the equivalent of the COG Sniper Rifle. And curiously, it turns out to be a modified Markza, this weapon was used by the RAGER after taking them as war trophies after their victory in Gorasnia against what was left of the UIR army after the pendulum wars in the first week of E-Day, where they would mercilessly attack this side under Karn's leadership to dismantle just a simple extra annoyance, the rifle has a knife to hit on the bottom of the weapon, the scope was disarmed and replaced with a lensless sight, the barrel It was shortened a little and the power of the weapon increased although its rate of fire decreased, being one of the deadliest weapons of the horde in the first month of the war.
7.- The Kilo squad was the first to report the existence of the Serapedes in Halvo Bay, 1 month after E-day, after finding them in a warehouse of the military museum in Halvo Bay next to their nests.
8.- You remember very well the UIR, the pendulum wars, this would end with the victory of the COG after 80 years of combat when the COG created the hammer of dawn, the UIR would be almost destroyed, leaving it very weak in places like Gorasnia although this place, In the first week of E-Day, it would be ravaged by the locust under the command of Karn, where they would kill them in the majority, leaving Paduk as one of the few survivors, the UIR would be almost exterminated in a couple of days by Karn and his horde.
9.- Same way as with the Wretches, Serapede, Kilo would be the first squad to report the locust class "Cyclops" with evidence and testimonies, the locust with a large helmet capable of using COG lancers taken from hundreds of corpses of gears, these they were very deadly in war and were the nightmare of the Onyx Guard.
10.- When you play as Sofia, at the beginning you can see a sign on the left that says "Carmine Life Insurance", which means that the Carmines or some relatives of those we know worked in Halvo Bay, how ironic their job is right?
11.- Booshka grenade launcher: as the second weapon presented in the UIR saga, it is an automatic grenade launcher capable of firing several projectiles that bounce full of an imulsion charge in bursts, they were widely used in the pendulum wars but in the locust, by the scarce resources, little by little the use of this weapon diminished to the point of becoming almost obsolete, in this title you can use it to close emergency holes or kill many enemies in a group.
12.- The berserker that appears in the mansion is the second sighted outside of Ilima in the saga, since the first was by Jace as a child and some others would be detected in the same city in those 3 weeks, although many of them would even be captured by the COG to study the female sex of the locust.
Enemies:
1.- 1:10:38 Meet the RAGER: This locust is one of the strangest in the saga because they are the only ones that have an extraordinary ability to metamorphose during risky situations as the last card to survive, they have a very basic armor and chains on the chest with the locust logo on the back, they are very intelligent but when they transform, they lack almost all intelligence, where, to go from attacking with their breechshot in strategic groups, they would now attack with their hands in a frenzy with nothing to stop them, They go from having a slim body with brownish-gray skin to red with black along with a great hardening of it, the nails and teeth calcify and lengthen to be more lethal and as an extra a pure charge of adrenaline that does not allow exhaustion until liquidate their targets, although if they are very threatened, they can return to their original state. , these Locust, as a curiosity, it is believed that they possess this ability thanks to the real scientist of the Locust horde who experimented with these with imulsion, and due to unknown agents, their bodies reacted in this way to the imulsion, creating the Ragers, where they only came to use in Halvo Bay and in Gorasnia during the first month of the Locust War (recomendation: while they are in their normal form, use your chainsaw and kill them).

Gears Judgment best backstory for Baird and Cole. I began to notice how Baird and Cole are like opposite to each other, Baird being the pessimist and Cole being the optimistic. I love Gears Judgment alongside RAAM’s Shadow.

Tbh, I've really enjoyed Gears 5. Not only it was beautiful graphically, it also felt like the most polished and innovative so far. The free roam mechanic is up to one's taste ofc. People say the story was bad, but so it was in the older gears, where a lot of the story was basically "go there and do this", rinse and repeat. Although it slowly picked up in the middle of the 2md one or so and went full send into the 3rd game. I understand the nostalgia from the older games, but it doesn't mean that it makes them flawless or something. Like people complaining about gimmicky boss fights in gears 5, but the entire gears franchise was based on that kind of mechanic from the very beginning and no one seemed to be complaining back then.
Still don't agree that 4 or 5 are bad games. 4 is very reminiscent of 1 with the darkness and grittiness it had. Some moments were more like 2 or 3 with the bigger fights. 5 had the horrible choice aspect for del and jd, and that wasn't great. I didn't like that they made jd act like a turd and distance himself from his friends and that they talked bad about him from time to time. But it was a story aspect. Judgement had legal issues because of cliffy b leaving and gave us the best gears game they legally could at the time. Then the coalition getting full rights to the gears universe was our breakthrough. People are just too prone to hate because people in general hardly understand progression and most people are small minded when it comes to change, new characters, deeper story digging. Especially when you have years of head cannon that people have decided is actual cannon despite zero confirmation. Every gears game has been thoroughly enjoyed by yours truly. I don't have that weird predisposition to hate stuff like everyone else seems to. That's why I enjoy watching people that have never played and don't know about gears because they generally like all the games, and their grievances are usually honest. Judgment just had cracks in the lore for the Lancer MKII. That's it.

I'm glad to see you're playing Judgement I remember pre-ordering the game picking it up at midnight release and blasting through the campaign finishing it like at 4 or 5am just to wake up for school like 2 hours later hahaha great memories. also You'll learn more about the UIR and Paduk's people in later games also I know it might seem tedious or boring for videos but getting those collectibles really does help give extra stuff about the story.

- great job on your progress. Get executions with rifles and scorcher u will burn enemies from inside
- do chainsaw battles against enemies with cleavers cause they tend to block your shots
- sawed off shotgun r ONLY close range not distance and get an execution with it u won't get another opportunity with other weapons executions
- u can only carry 2 weapons just for this game only
- do headshots on Ragers u know the locust that transform it's the only way to kill them faster

Man judgement had such a negative receiving when it launched mainly because if the button changes and the god awful multiplayer, but the campaign was still good. Anyways I hope you react to the gears 4 trailers before playing it, they where in my opinion the best trailers from the franchise

Yeah Judgement controls were different I remember that being a big complaint at the time they were closer to Call of Duty type controls and the campaign had that arcade-y feel having those stars to fill up and stuff.

I have to say I enjoyed the storyline for this game and for the DLC. I still play offline versus against bots (as there is literally no players on this game anymore lol). Also I loved the idea of Overrun,mixing Horde and Beast Mode together

ok Gears of War Judgment, let me provide a little backstory without any spoilers. this game is set in Halvo Bay around 6 weeks after E-Day so it is much earlier on in the war against the Locust...which is something to remember because it means not all the Locust creatures have arrived yet. it the story of Baird and his kilo squad and a rather uh...questionable choice they made.
here are the major characters.
Lt Damon Baird: well we know Baird...he hasn't met Marcus Fenix and Dom yet to my knowledge.
Pvt Augustus Cole: formerly a thrashball superstar, Cole is good friends with Baird and is looked up to by many people.
Cadet Sofia Hendrik: Sofia is a cadet of the famous Onyx Guard Elite...but as she never finished her training full Onyx Guard don't consider her Onyx Guard.
Pvt Garron Paduk: formerly a Major in the UIR (the side the COG fought in the Pendulum Wars) Paduk joined the COG after E-Day like quite a few UIR survivors (because their nations were slaughtered by the Locust and COG Hammer of Dawn combined).
Col Ezra Loomis: Loomis is a no nonsense Colonel who led the forces at Halvo Bay among other places...he greatly disapproved of Baird's actions. Following the events of this game (in the books or comics not sure which) he is killed in the final defence of Halvo Bay...which is why he is never seen elsewhere.
General Karn: The main villain of this game and one of the four locust Generals...he is the second to die chronologically. After him RAAM took over leadership.

Ah... The Dead Space 3 of the Gears Of War series... I think that it was a nice thing to focus in Baird's story, after doing Marcus, Dom, and Cole's.

I haven't played judgement since it came out the different studio and layout kind of bugged me a bit, but I may have been a little harsh this is cool. I have been slowly seeing the progression of your roots in your hair growing out which is neat.
I enjoyed myself playing the game! but i do have some mixed feelings on some of the aspects!

Playing this now just got it, I like it! Feels the same as others. Run and gun, I think everyone is attached to Marcus too much he's a character. It's good so far, it's up there with three, one is the worse I'd say, but even it's not bad.
This game has a bit of a negative stigma to it, but that's mostly because of the multiplayer, which was less than stellar. I saw from one of your other comments that you've beaten the game already, so I hope you liked the new characters, like Paduk, who is the first UIR main character we've gotten, the UIR being the enemy to the COG during the Pendulum wars before the Locust came on E-Day. The UIR are also the ones who came to help the COG at the end of Gears 3 on Azura who were on the ships. And it's always cool to see the Onyx guards, the all black special forces COG. I and many others wish to see a game that is based around an Onyx Guard squad

Something you might want to try on your second half of Judgment playthrough, is that you can use rifles while carrying the boomshield in Judgment, in fact it's the only game in the entire Gears series to date you can do this. You can even fire while holding the shield up while it's protecting you 👍
Update: I see in another comments you've finished the main campaign, but the same applies to Aftermath 😊
I do use the boomshield with some weapons in the second half! which i actually find quite useful!!

So you spotted stim grenades but I don't blame you for ignoring them, what they do is heal/revive your friends when you throw it at em
Also while downed, if you stay still and spam A you'll eventually revive yourself
Bit of constructive criticism, you seem really bad with shotguns but REALLY good with longer range weapons like the markza or longshot, and I'm sure you'd also be good with the hammerburst if you rapid spam that trigger and zoomed in xD
But on that topic, I recommend just not aiming at all with the sawed off, it's ment to deal the most amount of damage when your in your target's face, it's probably the only weapon that, in my opinion, if your aiming, your probably using it wrong
But for story stuff!! Let's talk about Paduk and the UIR, before the locust invasion, the COG (Coalition of Ordered Governments) and the UIR (Union of Independent republics) had a 100+ year long war over the newly discovered super fuel imulsion, which just worked better than fossil fuels, solar, or nuclear power, which is very ironic since imulsion is what created the lambent in 3, the COG won that war and when the locust attacked about 6 MONTHS later the UIR barely had the resources to fight at all, which is why they've allied together, but that's a big reason why Paduk and the guy giving the trial had major beef

You know, it's funny that Judgement was the only game where the AI was tactical (Like putting grenade traps and sometimes turrets)
They are much harder and more aggressive for sure!
I feel like it made the gameplay very tense and hectic!
Also Jade,you have to get at least I think 40 stars to be able to unlock the DLC in this game so yea the challenges help quite abit

I actually enjoyed Judgment, despite a few gripes. The Breechshot is probably my favourite gun in the game, kinda wished it was brought back.
I love this game so much gears of war is one of my favorite FPS game on Xbox and also the Onyx Guard they just look cool and don't really care about the Gears it's so funny. really hope they do a onxy gears game play as one

You mentioned in the video Jade that you wished you could run with the heavier weapons, such as the Mulcher, mortar etc. Well, you will be glad to hear that in Gears 4 and 5 you can indeed run with them, and not only that, when you go through doors and other transition animations, you take the weapon with you, it doesn't mysteriously disappear 👌 (you're going to love Gears 4 and 5 by the way).
I thought you'd like the Marksa rifle, it's akin to the DMR, Carbine and Light rifle in Halo. I like it too, it's accurate, has multiple bullets in the clip, and you can carry lots of bullets for it, what's not to like i say 😊

Most people didn't liked this bze it was arcade type...not an issue for me but Cole was too silent when he was a bit young I may say or in this game which is okay...but this is necessary to play and know the history of all characters and the story.

So i think nobody told you nothing about those onyx guards so i decided to copy info about them from gears wiki since you're playing game where they're mentioned pretty much "The Onyx Guard is an elite special operations unit in the COG Army that serve directly under the head of the Coalition of Ordered Governments. They had operated at the sole discretion of the Chairman during the Locust War before vanishing into COG files and vaguely recalled memories, when the unit was transferred to Azura to help defend the people who were there and the resources the COG had on the island. Formed of loyal, battle hardened Gears, Onyx Guard had its own air wing, tank battalions and troop regiments that were capable of fighting on the frontlines and behind-enemy-lines. As such, they were not the only special operations unit in the COG Armed Forces, the other one being the 26 RTI Special Tactics Group."

Garron Paduk is a veteran of the Pendulum War their equivalent of WW1 he is not a Cog he is a solder of the URA AKA the Union of Independent Republics the Gears of War equivalent of the USSR he got his scares from a light mass missile during the Pendulum War and that is why unlike the cogs his armour is green with no cog symbol on it and the Locust War is their equivalent of WW2.
I really like Paduk and his backstory!

Story wise, I like this game as much as the other ones. What I don't like about it is the change of controls.
I honesly dont mind the gameplay change as much!
I do feel mixed on some of the other areas though!
The least popular of the Gears games along with 4 and 5, but I for one believe the campaign is pretty underrated, and actually quite solid. Still below the original Trilogy story, but definitely better than the newer games. My biggest gripe besides the multiplayer, was the unnecessary changes to the button layout. Not a good change

This'll be a fun series! A lot of GOW fans were unhappy with judgement because of how different it was but I liked it. The controls are a lot smoother and the missions have a lot of replayability

Never really understood why Judgement got some of the negativity and poor initial sales that it did. Sure it's campaign is somewhat short, and I believe the original price was a full 60$, but the worldbuilding lore was on point, interesting new things were added (guns, enemies, characters, game mechanics, etc.), and the Declassified challenges spiced things up and were entirely optional. It had two new multiplayer modes, too. Wikipedia says that pre-ordering customers from Wal-Mart were offered either GoW 1 or 2 *for free*, while those that did so from other sources got a free Classic Hammerburst and any multiplayer skin of their choice.
Was it mostly the price tag on release? The 'arcadey' elements they experimented with? God forbid game devs actually try new things for their games (and get permission to even do so from their higher Corporate Overlords) instead of regurgitating the same thing over and over again with minor visual changes. At least I think we can all agree - looking back on things now, with the current blase acceptance of payed DLCs and Microtransaction hell - that what it offered was bloody *great*. If only we knew....

Honestly this game is a tad bit over hated. Sure the game mechanics are a bit hard to get used two and I don’t know why they would make you only carry two weapons (including pistols) but I quite liked the story, the characters, it has the cole train come…ON! Also remember paduk, (the Russian sounding guy from the UIR) he’s gonna be important in a later game.
