I've had a few risers over the years and yes, they did make a big difference for me. When you get the proper posture on your bike, you can spend quite a bit more time on it and not be so fatigued. Great topic! Eric
being comfy on a bike is as important as tyre pressures and a smooth throttle response. We don't get more flexible as we get older, so we have to adjust the bikes to work for ourselves.
Great idea Tim. I fitted slightly higher and wider bars on the GSX but haven't had a chance to a decent ride to test the difference yet. Brake lines and cables were just long enough.
Whatever makes the ride comfortable, I'm all for it. I had risers on a previous bike, Kawasaki 1400GTR, which gave me a more upright seating position, which I like. Ride well. Cheers
Hello. handlebar riser. yes. As you say, it's nice to have an easier riding position by setting it higher and closer than stock. I have a hernia in my neck, so I want to consider that too. Thank you my friend.
I read the title, and I thought "course they do, they make the handlebars higher" 🤣🤣 I put a set on my triumph sprint 1050gt a few years back. Didn't change anything for me. My wrists still hurt. Stay safe bud.
In Southern California, there is such a huge trend with super tall risers lately … We just subscribed. Hey you can’t spell handle bar without “handle”…Maybe that’s a good sign?
First of all Hello to your Dad and Chris. Never had anything to do with risers but I had not considered that it would make a difference to the handling. I've never really had a proper full on sports bike so never really done loads of miles leaning forward. As for enjoying the comforts as you get older that's what the fairing and screen give me. Anyway another thought provoking topic and one that might affect me more as I head into my 44th year of road riding. Ride safe Tim.
My handlebar risers made all the difference in the world for comfort on long rides...no longer have an ache across my shoulders... Take a different road says dad, lol.
Would you kindely share the details for your mechanic who installed the handlebar frsiers for you, I am from Adelaide too and I have Speed triple r 2016. Cheers
Great Video again Mate. Kindly Guide me Regarding your Prefered RENTHAL FATBAR Stage Level. What NUMBER is it before and what is it NOW? Does this 20mm Riser that I will Install affect the CABLES? Any Handling Difficulty?
Hello Mate The number I have the Renthal Bars set at is "0" . It was 0 before and now 0. No change. The 20 mm bar riser does not need any lengthening of cables. The 30mm ones I installed for this video needed a 30 ml adapter for the brake cable. The other cables were fine. With the 20ml risers the handling was good. With the 30ml risers , they also bring the handle bars 20ml closer to the rider , it does feel a little lighter in the front end but still handles very well. Makes a big difference. Thank you for dropping by and I hope what I have written makes sense.
@@MRTPR Now, it is Set @ No.2, It is OK, feels CLOSER to me but it is DOWN a Bit. So, If I Put the 20mm Bar Riser at the Same Set @ No.2, it will ONLY make it a Bit Higher, Right?
@@rackssanoy5569 yes correct I find that at the lower position the handle bars feel closer to me. I have tried it at 2 and not so comfortable for me. Everyone is different so there there is no right or wrong position. It really is trial and error , adjusting to the position that feels right for you. They are great bikes and I think are worth fiddling around until you find the position. I hope this helps. 😎
Big fan of anything that will make life easier for people to keep riding.
Yes me too 👍 a great upgrade

Nice input after you got the risers. Comfort is important on rides.
Yes Mate, just so happy with the outcome 😎
Getting old means getting risers. :) More upright is just ride and more comfortable. Have to agree. Thanks for sharing this and drop by mate.
Yes I just love them, thank you for your input Mate

I had risers on a VFR I had a few years back, they definitely made it a lot more comfortable to ride. I didn't notice any difference in the handling.
YEs I am lucky the handling has hardly been affected. 😎

Great comment mate. Thank you for you input 👍
Nice review!
Thank you 😎
I noticed no difference in handling on my Spyder.. but obviously we're not comparing apples to apples
Your spider looks like an amazingly comfortable ride. 👍
They work fine on my mini bike 😆👌
Yes I just love them 😎
Will for some and not for others
Agreed, I love them, just not good for filtering, otherwise great. 😎
