You don’t have to wait every 10 levels to learn sketch. Just relearn it the same way you can delete a move. A level 100 smeargle will still be able to relearn sketch. Only need 1 smeargle now
A faster way is to find a wild smeargle and have it sketch the move you want, change to your own smeargle, and sketch the said move. You can run away and encounter it and have it sketch the next 3 moves since running away resets the copied move on the wild smeargle
@@Anewidedtity You could use another pokemon that has the move trick or switcheroo and the item focus sash, get focus sash on the wild smeargle then switch to the pokemon with the move you want to sketch and attack the wild smeargle then switch to your smeargle to finally sketch the move. The focus sash should protect the wild smeargle from being one shot if it didnt struggle and loose some hp already. Or maybe you could put the wild smeargle to sleep first then put the focus sash on it. Look up what pokemon learns a sleeping move and trick or switcheroo. Idk if you will loose the focus sash or not and im not sure if the wild smeargle will still be holding it after it uses it if you catch it after you have sketched the move you wanted on your smeargle. Or if you have have not beaten all the trainers that do double battles in the dlc area. Save before you battle them, try to find a trainer with low lvl pokemon so they dont do big damage to you. Once you have sketched the move you want retreat from the trainer battle, you will loose some money but as long as you don't defeat them you can battle them again as many times as you want
The fastest way I learned is to face the NPCs scattered around BlueBerrie Academy, they are always a double battle, you just have to make sure that your smeargle is level 100 so it can always survive a 1 OHKO, after you sketch the move you can leave the battle and make smeargle learn sketch again and put the other pokemon you want to sketch the move and repeat the process

This is ALOT faster than what I used to do before Home reset my Smeargle. I used Double Battles and Sketched the move I wanted from my team than finished the battle. Rinse and repeat. Thank you!

explosion yes use skill swap damp on golduck on seedot idk about memento though and re battling rye in the bb club room is good for moves like helping hand
I already made a helper Golduck with Damp Ability, learning Explosion is simple. Encounter wild Ditto, switch the mon that only knows the move Explosion/Self-Destruct in, switch Golduck right back in, Skill Swap, switch Smeargle in to Sketch. Learning Memento is trickier, I had to get a mon like Delibird/Vulpix, have them learned the egg move Memento in Picnic and the TMs Substitute and Baton pass, put Memento in third move slot as game AI tends to use first move first. Encounter wild Ditto, switch Delibird/Vulpix in, there is 17% chance Ditto goes first and use Memento next turn, encounter a new Ditto if that happens, if not use Subsitute, then Baton Pass to Smeargle, then just wait until Ditto use Mememto so Smeargle can Sketch it.
@@nioj that’s interesting and I think you’d an re battle the gym leaders as much as you like in the bbq club room so Ryme can be good to get tricky moves like helping hand,final gambit and other hard moves for smeargle
since the dlc just dropped its difficult to tell what'll be best but skill swapping moody or endeavor focus sash with like extreme speed could be great to start with.
hmm guess this means in the future if you want to teach more moves that require a double battle dont defeat all the biome trainers...save one..running will suck lol but you will always have one trainer.

check out my latest smeargle video. i use an entire team of smeargle in singles so it might give you some ideas to use. only bad thing is that it cant sketch revival blessing but just depends on what you want it to do and the team ur using it with.

Smeargle holds the item Choice Scarf and not party lead, encounter wild Ditto and switch Smeargle in, use Sketch to copy Transform, I have tried and worked.
You can force Final Gambit to fail by switching in a Ghost type. Then if the Ghost has Hypnosis, you'll have time to switch Smeargle back in and Sketch

i want mine to learn spore and this wont work with that

There are a TON of double battles in the newest DLC and that's the method I've been doing but my Smeargle has failed to sketch Darkvoid every time.

thats an option but wasting a focus sash just to sketch 1move is kind of a waste instead of just being a higher level.

Given that smeargle’s stats arent the greatest, he works well as a baton passer. Load him up with buffs and pass it onto your sweeper.

I don't think this works for sketching Final Gambit
id have to test but usually moves that require a self ko like gambit or even memento etc just get used but fail.

The move relearning process is all done in the summary section of a Pokémon.
