I found pantera about 8 months ago, and they changed my entire life. At that point I was lost in the world and there music made me feel whole. 5 months ago dimebag inspired me to set off on learning guitar. I'm only 13 and I realize my dreams are big but I do want to become a guitarist atleast comparable to dime. In only 8 months his and brothers music (in pantera and damage plan) have completely changed me and helped me in life and I strive to follow in ther foot steps. Rock on!🤟
Getcha pull \m/ stick with it don't get too caught up in theory but learn all you can . So much info available nowadays nothing can stop ya. Grind that axe for a long time.
Not here to tell you its not possible, if anything just keep playing and playing. Nothing is impossible, but if it was easy everyone would do it. But if you motivated like you are at 13 here, and in 10 years you didn't give it up one bit, I can almost guarantee you some success.
He got to do what he loved most for a living. I think he realized how lucky he was and didn't take it for granted. He knew he couldn't do it without the fans which is why you see the band never shy away from them.
Hands down, DIMEBAG DARREL ABBOTT was the best metal guitarist I've ever been blessed to have seen. He always had a smile on his face and just truly, the genuinely nicest good man anyone could ever meet. Dime lived his life to the fullest extent. I believe that he showed us how to live, to the max! He's been an inspiration to so many young guitarist. I remember him always, with the utmost RESPECT! ✌ & 💝

I’m at work watching this and I could barely keep it together once Cemetary Gates started... all I can say is at least he lived to the absolute fullest, his guitar playing sounds exactly the way he lived... all the way, his personality and playing were seemless, the ultimate LEGEND!!! RIP
growing up in Arlington, TX in the late 80s - Pantera was the shit, and Dime was a god - I had the pleasure of knowing them - buying him & VP drinks @ No Frills B&G, then later comping their rounds @ a golf course where they played w/ Dallas Stars - coolest guys you could imagine - OH, f Phil Anselmo.

My friend met Dime around 1994 in Michigan and said he was the most gracious, generous, and down to earth rock star he ever met. Dime even took his cassette tape to listen to his band. He never forgot about his fans. Too bad he'd not still around.
