      Every cooking video you post always has sweet potatoes. I’ve been craving them ever since. I ended up paying $6.97 for a small 3 lb bag of them today. 🇨🇦 prices.. Roast chicken and sweet potatoes! Mmm

    You’re so real in the way you cook! We actually get a snapshot into a normal week of cooking for a mom of 6. You use what you have on hand and improvise to make it work! I really like that you didn’t special shop for the video bc this is more helpful!

    I love watching you prep your meals and cook with your precious children.. Your children are blessed to have both parents so close to them.
    The one thing I think you need is a food processor. My gosh the time it would save you. You could slice that squash as thin as can be and then grate the cheese...I use mine almost every single day. You have so many appliances to help you in the kitchen; is there a reason you do not have a food processor? I see you use that big knife and hold my breath that you do not cut yourself.

    As someone who has been cooking for 44 years now, I get so fed up deciding what other people are going to eat. I love watching these, does your husband do any of the cooking.
    Quick tip for Garlic. If you are using a crusher you do not have to peel the clove. just break off, place in crusher and squeeze, you can then just pick out the skin, normally in one piece, so glad I discovered this.

      Barbara Connolly I’ve been cooking for 46 years and I so feel ya, sister! Recently I said to my husband, “I am so tired of cooking!” He replied, “I’m tired of going to work!” Touché! Haha! This stage of life is just tiring sometimes and deciding what to cook for dinner is the worst.

    • @barbaraconnolly9000
      @barbaraconnolly9000 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cynthiafisher9907 i am contemplating a two week menu for winter and same for summer and then rotating. It was even worse when i was out working full time. I've told hubs he is going to start doing more cooking if he wants to keep eating a cooked dinner everyday😁.

    • @cynthiafisher9907
      @cynthiafisher9907 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Barbara Connolly That’s a good idea, to figure out a two week meal plan. I need to do something like that as well. I would like my husband to cook sometimes as well, but he has such a hard physical job that he’s pretty exhausted when he comes home. Good luck with your new plan, I think sometimes we forget what a blessing we provide with just a simple home cooked meal.

    I honestly really have loved doing the sourdough pizza better on the stove top (from your video a few weeks ago) and just popping it in the oven to get the cheese bubbly! The crust comes out so much better (IMO) and was nice for the warmer months of not having to heat the house nearly as much with the oven.

    I learned cooking in India and one of the most important steps was good salt, less salt! I do this now for over 10 years I am 44 years and look like 34. So throw away your bad salt and go for good salt I love the himalayan pink salt! And think about every time you go into a restaurant, fast food etc. it is bad cheap salt, so cut back on that either!

    One year, I baked a fresh pumpkin pie, and when I took it out of the oven, I realized I had used garlic and not ginger...
    So when I lamented to a friend she jokingly said to add it to something...so I made pumpkin macaroni and cheese. I loved it- and I was the only one that felt that way sadly.
