  • Bill Hawkins WR1TR demonstrates the quick assembly of the GARS Hex Beam for Field Day and other portable operations. GARS uses two single band Hex Beams for W4GR 10m and 6m operations. They are put on separate poles at different heights so they can be pointed in different directions. The Hex Beam demonstrated is the 10m version. This impromptu video was made at the 2018 ARRL Field Day Harbins Park site in Dacula, GA. Learn more about GARS and amateur radio at www.gars.org/

Bill, have you made a 20m of version of a portable hex beam like this? This was very cool! Have you considered 3D printing the hub and putting kits together to sell and fund club activities? de K8MEJ

Nice, but portable is a very subjective term.
