Your cpu is pinnacle ridge. Asrock warns not to do bios upgrade using your cpu as your cpu will lose support. If something goes wrong during the upgrade process your motherboard will become a brick. The safest thing to do is to get a 3600 series cpu, do a bios upgrade and then install the 5600x.

I have the Asrock B450 Steel legend, my problem is when i want to instant flash the bios, i get the warning that i should disable Bitlocker descryption(dont even have it installed) and disable tpm. No problem. Disabled it, restart and tried to flash it, but i only get the error: Secure flash check failed. Press ok and pc restarts. I tried everything i could think of, tpm turned on, same error. USB stick change, same error, other version of the bios, same error. clean the usb stick with diskpart + partition stuff, same error. Tried resetting the bios also, battery removed and stuff. Nothing works for me, always the same error and i dont know why neither can i find anything online
I hate bitlocker so much. I tried to help a friend upgrade from home edition to professional then this bitlocker thing screwed everything up. See if you can reset your PC..there is an option to reset without losing your files.. If that doesn't work then do a fresh windows installation...of course back up everything before doing that.

I plan to buy the ASRock B450 Steel Legend with a 7 5700x my current system is running on a AM3+, so there is no way i can slap in the old cpu to enter the bios and flash it. If you buy the motherboard now there is a good chance that it has already been updated. So, just slap in your Ryzen 7 5700x to see it works. If it doesn't work then you need a Ryzen 3000 series CPU.

I couldn´t find any specific information for this specific mainboard, after reading some customer reviews which ordered 2 weeks ago, they had the 5000 series support bios pre-installed thank you for quick response, i hope this comment might help someone else.

Unfortunately asrock 450m doesn't have a dedicated q flash button like the 550. So you'll have to find a friend with 3000 series CPU or get it through AMD loaner program or get one from Amazon and then return it. I'm currently running 5600G on asrock b450m after updating it with a 3600x.

I ran r5 5600g with this board and 3600mhz ram and it worked really good. No issues. But you must update to latest bios. Same process and same file used in this video.

It's not gonna work because that slot is not a nvme slot. Only older m.2 sata ssd will work on that slot. Those older m.2 sata SSDs have two notches on both sides while NVMe SSDs have only one notch.
You should be okay to update with Ryzen 5 3400G. They don't want pinnacle Raven ridge and summit ridge CPU to update. Your CPU is none of those. So it should be okay. Just identify your current version of BIOS then update to the next version. If everything goes well then update to the latest version.

Update your motherboard BIOS to the bios version where it supports your 4600g...and you should be fine with 480w PSU...I am running on a 450w PSU ..no problem so far..

For this motherboard you install nvme (m key) in faster m.2 slot near cpu. And for the other port you install m.2 sata (m key and b key). but in order for that to work you need to make sure you didn't connect any hard drive with sata cables to the sata port that is designed for the m.2 only. Just unplug any hdd connected with sata cables to check if the m.2 shows up in bios.

Leave the old cpu on when flashing...install The new CPU after you upgrade your bios.

You should be okay to update with Ryzen 5 3400G. They don't want pinnacle Raven ridge and summit ridge CPU to update. Your CPU is none of those. So it should be okay. Just identify your current version of BIOS then update to the next version. If everything goes well then update to the latest version.

In Asrock website they advised against updating with a Ryzen 2000 series CPU. You will need to update with a 3000 series CPU to be safe.

I have a couple saved profiles in my BIOS. Will updating BIOS delete those saved profiles?
I don't think so..but in my case it didn't but take a picture or screenshot of the profile settings so in case something happens you can fix it...

do i need to wipe the usb so that the update is the only thing on it ?
Not really but I recommend doing it because that way there can't be any mistakes..and when you format it to fat 32 everything inside the USB drive will be gone anyways...
