The reason I do give them some hate in that regard is that for a company or food that tries to not impose on Mexican food they do take or appropriate a lot from Mexico for their menu and image. What do I mean is go take a look at the name of the items in their menu and they use a lot of names of actual Mexican dishes, their imagery of their company especially in the past like the 90s they were actually trying to associate with Mexico with their old commercials. A lot of the hate would be easily solved if Taco Bell would do something like switching their menu items to entirely English or not use cultural items from Mexico with their products. Instead of calling them burritos or chalupas which are actual names of food in Mexico call it “wraps” now it’s entirely American in that regard. “Baja blast” the Baja an obvious reference to Baja California, why? If they are not Mexican then don’t take stuff from Mexico.
I am 31 and that's one of the main reasons I have never even tried Taco Bell in Spain, despite being a person that has ordered food delivery often for many years. There's no way I'd pay 40€ for fast food, much less this shit lmao. I truly hope these overpriced fast food joints are half as expensive in their countries of origin.
