I dunno if I'd call that an easy beginner song, but great breakdown. I am a newb, but wanna try. Great explanation on that dropped backbeat thing. Never could figure that out. Gives that very cool syncopation. Thanks!!
Thanks man, yeah it’s a really cool idea with the dropped snare. Probably a little tricky for a beginner but again try and simplify it and build it up maybe?
I have always ended up getting mesmerized by the quasi 1/2 time feel in the verse and missing the 1 both in the middle of the verse and going into the chorus. For that reason I believe this song is a deceptively complicated song to learn, especially if you're not advanced.
You are 💯 right there, also the fact the kit doesn’t play all the quarter notes is tricky at first but makes so much sense and creates room. Keep up the good work tho!
In addition, I have to compliment you on the sound quality, not only of the drums, but of the capture as well. Ya got more lessons? regards (PS: having fun w/ this one.....think I'm getting it)
Good morning, I've a big question about the intro...In the original song at the beginning It seems that the intro is like an odd times when drum start to play the first bar...Can you confirm my opinion? Sorry for bad English...
The snare comes in on beat 1 of the first bar, as is a kinda fill in first bar. The other thing is the second guitar that comes in might be throwing you as it is playing off that quarter note feel if the first guitar. Try to just listen to the first guitar for your anchor point / count in (5bar intro!)
Professional and clear...thank you👍👍🤘🤘
Brilliant stuff that’s what I love to hear! Glad it was useful!
great lesson. I feel like I can hear Mick laying down 16th's on the hi hat in the chorus though.
Yeah there is definitely a lot of overdubbed percussion, so just trying to lay down the main pattern
