When you discussed the Mercury 7 you missed the vibrato in the secondary function. This gives the reverb a vocal like quality and makes your guitar sound like a chorus of voices is singing along. There is also the speed for the modulation in the secondary function as well that can really transform your sound. I am a huge fan of both of these pedals and I use them both on my board for a HUGE ambient atmosphere. Thanks for the show and tell! ENJOY!!!

Benefit of the TRS on the cloudburst - you can plug headphones right in if the cloudburst is your end of chain

It’s definitely two of the best fighting for sales and market share! Which is great for guitar players because they’ll push each other to make better and better products. Love it.

There are dozens of pedals that cover what the Mercury does. As a singer songwriter I hate them all. If I write a tune I want pedals to enhance it. These pedals are not my co-song writers they are tools. I do not want tools to tell me how I can build my house. In short it is 'the tail wagging the dog'. The Cloudburst is the ONLY exception. I can orchestrate my tunes without the pedal telling what to play. I find most of this ambience stuff is written for an audience of one. The guy playing it.

The string stuff on the Cloudburst is great and accompanies normal play styles without much fuss, no doubt. But the Mercury7 (and MercuryX) is exceptionally detailed, and does everything from fully conventional sounds to ambient wash. It does not force you into any particular lane if you know how to adjust it. There is not too much on the market that is quite to its level in terms of articulation and depth of stereo field. It's not a dime a dozen.
