    In this tutorial clip Neda does not use pen tool, instead she draws rectangles or ellipses and modify them with erase tool to have what figures she wants. This is the faster method to draw something that I can learn. The way she creates shading for the face by making different layers of figures on the face then applies gradient is amazing. Regarding handling layers, she locks to work with just the layer she wants, and this tip is important to learn. I turn on the setting to slow down the clip so that I can learn every step she makes, and I have learned off and on for three weeks the techniques of Adobes Illustrator. This tutorial teaches me interesting techniques, more than any books I have.

    Very creative use of the Eraser tool to form shapes. I love how you took it to create the ears and the highlights on the drawing's face. I also loved how you edited the circles with the Pencil tool to create the curly hair. I'll be back to learn some more techniques!

    I have searched on TH-cam and I found that Neda drew the most charming female cartoon faces as compare to other designers. I did not know why we have pencil tool in Illustrator until I found this clip where Neda showed us how to modify a circle into waves of hair using pencil tool. In many other clips of TH-cam you can just learn how to use the tools of Illustrator while in Neda's clips you know how to put the tools in action by creating SOMETHING USEFUL like making curly hair with pencil tool.

    Hi Neda, I used pencil tool to modify ellipse into curly hair. I had the ellipse always selected when I modified a segment of the ellipse into the wavy line,. In the first attempt that segment of the ellipse was replaced by the wavy line. However, at later attempt, the ellipse segment did not disappear when I made the wavy (the wavy line touched at both ends of the ellipse segment). So both the wavy line and the segment of the ellipse appeared at the same time.

    I want to learn how to create curly hair following your clip on TH-cam. When I use the pencil tool to create the hair by modifying the ellipse, suddenly a segment of the ellipse disappears. Why is that?
    Can you help me with that? Thank you.

    • @NedaDraws
      @NedaDraws  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Vang 😊 When you’re modifying any shapes with pencil tool, the shape that you’re drawing should be completely closed. Even a tiny opening causes that to happen. If you take a closer look, I do close all gaps while I’m creating each shape with pencil tool. 😊 I hope this helps.
