✏️ Folks, here's the Ebook on 'Cartooning Faces' (free btw 😉) keshart.in/cartooning-faces And 📹 PART 2 - How to Cartoon People's Bodies? th-cam.com/video/APqAv1_v0Rs/w-d-xo.html
Summary for my own sake Step 0: References - Choose references that attract you and have defining/prominent features. Step 1: Note the things that attract you the most. Note the vibe of the model; whether they give off a solid or soft vibe etc. Pick out shape language. Step 2: Break down model into base shapes; preferably 3. Capture the essence in the most simplest form. Keep shapes simple. Exaggerate them. Step 3: Look for secondary features and shapes, eg eyes, nose, mouth. Step 4: Draw many variations. Try to modify lines, angles and shapes. Use rule of T. Get core shape of face right. Step 5: Ink and colour; flats, shadows and refine. Simplify lighting on model down to 2 things - shadow areas and light areas. Takeaways: Simplicity.
I did the rule of thirds (on ONE drawing/sketch!) just as it said in the video- And I ALREADY saw a massive improvement so quick! Thank you very much for this video!
About 01:01 , “How Do You See?” Perceive the Edges; Perceive the Negative Spaces; Perceive the Relationships and Proportions; Perceive the Light And Dark [I like to think of this as both the illuminated and obscured; the rendered and omitted; attracted and repellent in the Jung Shadow work sense; all inclusive I think of this as Perceive Chiaroscuro; And Perceive the Gestalt. I pulled this [The 5 Questions for Saturation] from Betty Edwards’ Drawing on the Artist Within. The reincorporated these into her most recent revision of Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain. She also implores here followers to investigate the intertextual connections everywhere. Like you are outlining here.

'And you end up drawing their long lost cousin, whose face was chewed by a koala' had me cackling😆😆 Great art bro. Its bcaz of u I improved my art from DISLOCATED THIN people to nice normal humanoid people. Really appreciate it♥️♥️♥️Loads of love from Kerala♥️♥️
OMG THIS IS SO HELPFUL! Being a person who really wants to find a simple style to drawing people, this video was basically the heavenly light shining down upon me. Thank you so much for this video!
Unbelievable! I found a treasure that helps me with this type of drawing! I loved the explanation process and the way to make a very fun and interesting video and I actually subscribed.
Thank you Kesh! You are a wonderful and benevolent person to share your artistic gifts with us! May God bless you richly for your kindness and generosity.
You’ve improved my drawing more in the last 12 days than I ever have in the last ten years of my on and off drawing ( I’m 23 💖 ). Even my artist friend ( I like to call them a professional because their art is more than just doodles it’s passionate and fun and amazing ) my friend told me I have a pretty good eye for proportions 💖💖thank you Keshart
I tired alot of time to get a fine caricature sketch for friends😢 but doesn't came well I just missing out something (the variation and shapes) this video helped me a lot, Just an heart felt thankyou ❤
Such a well made and explanatory video. Awesome. I had seen a lot of caricature tutorials but this is unbeatable. U had put in a lot of work here. Not just with the editing but also with the examplary sketches. \
Thank you very, very, very much for such clear information! This makes it less daunting en more fun. However I do feel I will also need to invest more time into drawing realistic portraits in order to know shading and lines in the face. I love cartooning, but realistic drawing not so much. I would like to know how did you go about that?
Glad you liked it. Here's what I would do - start learning basic head anatomy. - do 50-100 Breakdowns of realistic head images with the anatomy structure you've learned. - start drawing heads with the lessons you've gathered so far. Improve and itereat.
Hey! Which brush did you use? Thank you so much for such a useful video just found your channel helping some freshers to learn drawing in an easy way and for free too good I really thank you for all your videos. Thank you!! ✨
De lo mejor que he visto en tutoriales en mucho tiempo, te acabo de descubrir gracias a las sujerencias de youtube. Una pregunta, ¿tus cursos esan subtitulados a varios idiomas?, o solo esta todo en ingles?
Thank you so much! Appreciate it. Right now the courses are only in English. We are working on adding subtitles in Spanish and some other languages but its not gonna happen anytime soon unfortunately
I would go for top 3. I would list all distinguishing features, ask which one give the most bang for buck, go with that. Incase of smaller features, I would - just look at the shape of those features, boil it down to ONE simple shape. And play with that shape. This is a watered down way of putting it.
Make part-2 soon for teaching cartooning in which there are 14 something cores waiting from last week that live stream one u told comming this month and topic was character design, when it is comming? Eagerly waiting⏳
