This is the debut episode of SUPER SATURDAY MORNING. I was inspired by three other TH-cam channels to start making videos like this - Rinse Repeat, Mone Media and The Group Therapy Podcast (Saturday Morning Serials). I will link their channels at the bottom of this description. If you like this channel, be sure to check out their channels as well!
I started this channel because I wanted to start practicing video editing since it's been a while since I've done anything like this, and because I wanted to start a channel that edits content like this together in one beautiful nostalgic package. I think it's important to save and preserve old cartoon and commercial footage because there is a real possibility that it could all disappear one day.
This video is not for children. This video is meant for adults who want to reflect on their childhood (the good ol' days) by watching vintage cartoons and commercials.

You can only go right! 🤣😂
Oh man, Pryde of the X-Men is so great. And you did a fantastic job putting in all those X-Men related bumpers and commercials!
Thanks!
Dazzler was in it! IMO such an underrated character. Chris Claremont made her shine, too bad no one else can figure out what to do with her.
I remember waiting for an X-Men cartoon after seeing "Pryde of..."and just waiting. Tiamat is like the coolest dragon ever!
Same here! Unfortunately those are the days when we didn't have the internet and had no idea if/when we were getting some of these shows.

Dungeons & Dragons was epic - the greatest standard cartoon of all time!!
OMFG my childhood growing up on fox 5 THANK YOU SO MUCH 👀 WATCH EVERYTHING FROM THIS TIME AS MUCH AS 👀 CAN AND I'M 43 YEARS YOUNG
I'm glad you enjoyed the show! There's lot's and lot's more to watch on this channel - and it only gets better!
I'm happy that I can show these to my younger niece and nephew. Since they no longer show Saturday cartoons, they basically got screwed out if enjoying such a pleasure!!! Thanks once again!!!!!
Glad to hear it!! Just keep in mind these broadcasts aren't intended for kids - I threw in some bonus content that could potentially contain swears, and some of the later episodes contain anime that was not created for kids. I would recommend just screening some of these shows before showing them to the little ones :)
@@supersaturdaymorning believe me I understand. I just can't believe how bad any cartoon or kids show is now a day I mean how it looks. Have the time I know I can draw the cartoons better.
@@jlindsey241 Yeah these cartoons nowadays are laughably terrible. I feel sorry for the kids not getting what we had back then - but with channels like this we can still show them! Thanks for watching!!

Wildcats is one of the best comic book series ever made! And three years later Gen 13 was a huge hit and that's what the entire class drew in art school! The good old days of drawing!

Hello there^^
I am not human, I am just a plant. I changed my shape to live among humans as a normal girl but in fact I am an alien plant.
I am honored to have THE Flora from Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors as my first comment 🙂
@@supersaturdaymorning Thank you so much. It is nice to meet you.
I work hard to help save the universe. Traveling so long in space is not healthy for a plant like me and it's still hard for me to understand humans. But I'm very happy when I find someone who remembers me. Now I'm helping Saw Boss and the Monster Minds open a restaurant on the Babylon5 space station. Saw Boss still thinks about taking over the universe sometimes but we managed to become friends.

JK Rowling stole the look of the wizard kid for Harry Potter from Dungeons and Dragons.

Im freaking out, never seen the Japanese xmen, looks amazing
Those two Japanese openings are epic!! I wish we got that animation instead of the animation we got in that 90’s show, haha! Thanks for watching!!
The X Men 90s show was the dogs bollocks, probabaly one of the best series ever.
@@supersaturdaymorningThe Japanese versions were great but the 1990s show was great too. It was more complex and gave you more insight into the mind set of the major characters. While it might not had the same as the Japanese version it was ahead of its time because it way it handled its plots and characters were similar to many Japanese Anime like DBZ and OPM..
@@lostintranslation1957 It was so good - curious to see how the new one is!

The picture quality for Pyrde of the X-Men is stellar! And that Japanese opening sequence. OMG!
Thank you! I thought it would be a nice treat to throw the Japanese X-Men opening sequences and bumpers into the cartoon. I'm glad you enjoy it!!
I adore the 90s X-Men series, but I wish we could have seen the show that Japanese intro promised.
Hello.I really enjoy your show. Can you please get in some Thundar?

All of these you can get on DVD and it would be cool if some of them came back like the 90's X-Men Animated series is coming back. But all great shows and sadly one of my favorites wasn't on the list was Visionaries. True it only lasted for 13 I think but combining technology and magic, how could you lose?
I play Visionaries in some of the later shows - that was such a classic show!!
The characters and creatures of Dragon Warrior look like Dragon Ball Z characters.
That they do! They were all designed by THE MAN Akira Toriyama (RIP)!

Dungeons and Exposed Midriffs. And, geez, going after Tiamat?!? Thanks for the video!!!
They should be at the very least level 16 before attempting to fight Tiamat!!
Seeing as I've arrived a year late, thus rendering any show suggestions I might have relatively pointless (I'm convinced I'm the only person on Earth who cares about "Toad Patrol"), I'll instead express general thoughts about tonight's lineup.
Amazing just how often first episodes of cartoons about hero groups have a new person joining as the main plot. All the better to facilitate an obligatory lore dump and general overview of the characters, but it didn't sound any less clunkier across all four (five in the case of "Dragon Warrior," but more toward us the viewer rather than any in-universe characters; a medieval fantasy doesn't need that much "actually future Earth, lol" lore, surely?!) instances of it. I'd much rather take the approach of "Dungeons & Dragons" and have a "normal day" in the cast's lives, demonstrating who they are through action and high adventure. That's how most Japanese Manga do it, and look how wildly successful those are!
I can see why "D&D" is your favorite show, but for my money, "Jayce & the Wheeled Warriors" was the best first impression I had this week. A decidedly different form of "space opera," a likable set of good guys (complete with "discount Han," who doesn't love that trope?!), and some inventive plant/tech hybrid baddies. Not what I normally look for when I think "Saturday cartoon," but a lot of fun to watch.
"Dragon Warrior" is an inspired choice. It's quite a departure in most respects from the rest of the "Dragon Quest" franchise (and "Adventure of Dai" on Netflix is practically night and day), but it still carries much of the sound storytelling DNA fans love. I'm a bit disappointed that America only saw the first 13 episodes, as what we have here is really a compelling setup for lots of great potential adventures. Oh well, at least it has cute slimes!
"Pryde of the X-Men" did succeed in a roundabout way, just not for its own take on the merry mutants. It's quite admirable how it fits so many elements of Claremont's world into a fast-paced whirlwind half-hour. Granted, Kitty sounds like a real ditz for most of it, and Wolverine with an Australian accent is just so wrong, but otherwise, it's a great primer for general X-stuff. Definitely worth sacrificing a 13th episode of "Robocop" to get this one out there!
So, lineup rotations every week, and we won't get back to this particular arrangement for anywhere four or five "episodes?" Fair enough, I do enjoy a bit of variety in my retro toon binges. You put together such a great one this time, though, that it's gonna be mighty hard to top. Catch ya on the flip side!
I loved reading this in-depth review of this episode! Thanks for posting it!! I will say that after a few episodes, I decided to keep certain cartoons on repeat every week, which was a diversion of my original plan of not having the same cartoons on every single week. I decided to make my episodes super long (6-8 hours, sometimes longer!). I hope you enjoy the other episodes posted on this channel, and I'm sure you'll like what we have when we return on August 31st!
wow thank you so much i remember watching this with my sister when she was still alive.

I'm 62 but I still love cartoons. MASK was one of my favorites and I was so mad when they canceled it and replaced it with maple town, that was a sickening cartoon.

That was the worst feeling back then - waiting for your favorite tv show to come on at the time it is normally on, only to see some other lame cartoon or tv show in its place. Back then we didn't have the internet so we never knew if it was cancelled, let alone why.

I meet Tom Ray way back in 2014 and thought me how to draw animated cartoons we became friends and there isn't a day that goes bye that I don't think about him! He animated so many of these Saturday morning cartoons! He also worked on Tom and Jerry. He is mostly known for his animation on the orginal How the Grinch stole Christmas and the Bugs Bunny lonney tunes hour!

I think I just found one of my new favorite shows aka Dungeons & Dragons! Also, thanks for making this, I didn't get to watch these specific cartoons as a kid, but as a '05 kid, I watched a good deal of old Saturday Morning Cartoons, and now because of your video, I can watch these cool shows and learn how to make really amazing animations like these!

I still want that Capcom 2D D&D video game, with these characters.....I know they made one but not with these characters or storyline.
A cartoon Dungeons & Dragons 2D beat 'em up in the vein of that D&D game, Knights of the Round, and Final Fight would be epic!!
Pretty sure everyone instantly knew Jim Lee’s Wildcats was wack af
A lot of people disagree with you there. There's a lot of Wildcats fans here.

This early version of X-Men was very good. The art work and story are brialant but the Japanese music was awful.
See I loved the Japanese music lol! To each their own though. I agree with you the early version of X-Men was very good!!
That x-men cartoon should have gotten more episodes past the pilot. The look still holds up after all of these years. Also Stan Lee introducing them with all of his enthusiasm was the cherry on the cake.
Agreed! This was such a great episode, and I'm sad nothing else came of it. All they had to do was change Wolverine back from an Australian to a Canadian and it was fine!!
Pride of the Xmen..... wolverine with that accent.... it was ok....but it was just 1st.... before the good one.
Yeah that Australian accent was ridiculous!
That X Men had way better animation, would have been a better show than the 90s X Men. Too good to be true for stateside animation I suppose.
Imagine Pryde of the X-Men animation paired with the story telling from the 90's X-Men?? Unfortunately the quality in animation was heading towards the opposite direction as time went on.
Prof X: "Here is a man who can shoot energy from his eyes, a man who can turn his skin into metal, a woman who converts sound into finger guns, a man who can move anywhere he can see, a man with really sharp claws... and a goddess with the power to bend the elements to her will across the face of the Earth including generating hurricanes and shooting lightning from her fingertips. We're all equal here, girl who can walk through walls."
