Rockpile was such a great band. Uploader Lazy Poker: do you have the rest of this show? Or perhaps you can share where you found this clip? I was there playing playing with the Swedish band Sad Motion the same night, and would love to find a video of that.
@Simon Runge Sorry, Simon - I only have the Rockpile portion of the programme. I got that many years ago on a compilation DVD, but I can't recall who gave it to me.
@@simonrunge6323 I'm sorry I can't be more helpful on this. Seems there's not really too much "Mandagsborsen" footage in circulation anyway. I'm looking for Carlene Carter's 1981 appearance on the September 28 episode for ages . . . in vain. Only the interview with her has surfaced - heaven knows why.
@@lazypokerblues No, thank you, Lazy Poker! Just seeing this clip brought back a lot memories. Swedish public televison, SVT have a bunch of the later seasons available, but not my (or your) show. I did find a Swedish media archive that is listing the show, but it's only for media researchers....and even then, it's for viewing in person at their location only. I'm hoping it's on someone's old VHS tape, waiting to be digitized and will show up here one day.
@john barry Well, I can only assume that you haven't seen many Rockpile live videos yet, because "Crawling" has been a steady concert staple ever since its introduction on the "Repeat When Necessary" album. You might want to check out the band's appearances at the Kampuchea concerts, on French TV programme "Chorus", at "Rockpalast" and at the 1980 Montreux Jazz Festival.
@@CRsunsout 😄 o.k., John, as I'm delighted to help whenever I can - you can look up the "Chorus" and Montreux footage right here on my channel. (And I certainly envy you still living in 78 - times were way more innocent then!)
. . . maybe sussie olsson would've done a better job here - although it gets me thinking about her interview with dave edmunds a year later: dave leapt from the stage for the talk and said "hi suzy, how are you? just a kiss" with her distancing from him with the repelling words "oh NO, NO, NO! no kisses - we're talking!". a little later when she translated what he'd answered to a question into swedish (with him, of course, not understanding a single word), he quipped "you took the words right out of my mouth". this caught her a bit off-guard for a split second before muttering "that's a song title." well, . . . let's see - maybe i'll upload that edmunds appearance, too.
Keep posting great music when guitar was king!
Thanks.
@AFGSstudio
For my money guitar STILL IS king! 🙂
One fine little band. I saw them twice here in Houston Tx. around this time. Sadly, gone too soon 😻 ✌
short but sweet staying together band
Great version of ‘singin’ the blues’.
Terry is the king .....
Amazing drummer!

The group is fine but where did the host come from? It is a shame that Rockpile didn't last longer.
@josephlemko3027
If you'd read my explanatory notes, you'd know that this was recorded in sweden - and that's exactly where the host is from.
good lord how tall is the MC ?
å så hallberg... var blev han av?
Bor i Bromma. Mindre publik figur dessa dagar. Brukar kåsera på Valborgsmässoafton på Ängbybadet. Tveksamt underhållningsvärde.
Billy Bremner looks like Nathan Lane...
the presenter is a nob, great to see them singing the old Tommy Steele hit from the 60s "singing the blues" (not Graham Parker from the 70s)
I've never ever seen rock pile do this live this was written by Graham Parker of Graham Parker and the rumor
