Mitsubishi Lancer 2013 with 112,548 miles with CVT, the following is before the additive: After a few miles, the transmission started to whine and the revs getting at 3000 rpm to 3500 rpm with slow acceleration. After the additive: Smooth drive, the revs kept on 2000 rpm to 2,300 rpm. It's been a month and no slipping or whine... IMPORTANT! DRAIN FROM YOUR TRANSMISSION THE SAME AMOUNT OF ADDITIVE TO BE POURED.

Did a complete fluid & filter change on my 2009 Lancer De today. Added in the new oil, put the bars leaks in with it, ran the car for a bit to change gears. I'm from Brazil, I have an audi a4 CVT. I put the product to try to stop a small leak. SURPRISE !! The exchange connections burst and leaked 4 liters of oil. In the end, it destroyed my CVT too. I hope there is no further damage. This oil is much denser than the oil for CVT, I think this caused the overflow of the hoses.

I'm afraid to try any additives.. I have a Tuned Nissan 2011 Juke SL at 104K and I have done several CVT Drain and fills to switch over to AMSOIL CVT fluid over the years. So far so good. I usually do a 5 quart Drain and fill every June right before the hot months in south Jersey. I don't go by Milage I do it once a year no matter what.. I hope I can get another 60K to 70K out of her, But that would mean babying it.. I got it Tuned and Turned up for a reason so I'll check back in, in another 20K.. But Honestly I have had more issues with Catch cans, Boost leaks, and Old hoses and carbon build up on the valves.. I just did a major Tune up recently though Plugs coil Packs. I did the STP Pro Series Valve cleaner twice.. Oh yeah that's another Cost, Dealer's don't talk about, (Direct Injection, I use STP Pro Series 4 X's a year to keep carbon down on my Valves..)
There’s a difference in putting something like that into a transmission that may have a leak or before a major problem. You already had a severe major problem. From everything described. Your transmission was on it’s last leg and it’s not the additive that did it. Just being honest with you not sarcastic at all. I understand you were trying to save it but there was no saving
Your transmission was too far gone. If you have an older car with high miles you have to flush it and put it additive like Lucas in before the components fail. Once the components fail you're asking for a miracle
ur transmission was already on the way out lol. ive put the entirely wrong fluid in my trans and drove 1k miles and it was fine after i switched it out. ur belt probly finally snapped. not the fluids fault. it cant un tear a belt lmao
I would NEVER advise anyone to use transmission additives to try to fix problems. If you have a problem with your transmission, get it looked at and fixed correctly (ie. removed, diagnosed, and repaired if necessary or replaced). Leak stops are OK for use in the oil or coolant but NOT on a transmission. Transmissions are very finicky and have a lot of small oil passages and such that can get blocked with things like this. If anything, you're only buying time by using such products. Now I've seen radiator leak-stop from Barrs work quite well and last a few years, but cooling systems are less complex than transmissions. Do not use leak stop fluids or any additives really, on a transmission.
Just, Please do yourself a favor and Make sure what ever you poor into it, isn't thick Like he used... Make sure it poor's out and flows similar to water Or regular CVT Fluid.. It needs to be thin enough not to block any passages, In the Valve Body.. Just a friendly heads up CVT's are totally different from old automatic's.. They used to Hold like 13/15 Quarts.. CVT's hold 8.5 Quarts, Less protection over time. Anyway the real trick with these Cars is to do a 5 Quart Drain and fill, Once a year. Right before the Hot months. Think of it more like an Oil change for the Trans.. Anyway good luck.
I totally agree. the only thing PPL can do are Drain and Fills Like Oil changes.. Keep your CVT fluid Clean, Don't let it get Burned up which can happen over the course of one Hot Summer and a heavy foot..
