Only compatible with the latest NIGHTLY builds of PCSX2. Aethersx2 and other variants of pcsx2 may work, not tested.

(New) Blocky haze fix (32-Bit Color Depth Patch by Aero_)
Make sure to apply Aero_'s 32-Bit Color Depth Patch, required to fix color banding / blocky hazes.
Blending Accuracy no longer needs to be limited to Basic, it can be set as high as maximum without causing issues.

** How to install: **
Drag and drop the "replacements" folder into your PCSX2's directory: PCSX2/textures/[GAME-ID]/replacements
(If the folders are not there, simply create them manually, or enable texture dumping for a brief moment while the game is running, and PCSX2 will generate that folder(s) for you.
This is only compatible with the latest nightly builds of PCSX2. Please update your emulator.
** Features: **
1. HD HUD and UI textures:
All menus, text, and the in-race HUD have been redone in much higher resolution. These textures have greatly improved the game's overall look when playing in HD on PCSX2. My goal with this texture pack was to give the game a 'remastered' look and I think it succeeds in achieving that. This was accomplished with a combination of fully redrawn/replaced textures from scratch, and ai upscales.
2. 16:9 aspect ratio-corrected UI textures:
All UI textures that were still 4:3 stretched when in 16:9 mode have now been 'squished' horizontally to make them display in their correct aspect ratio when in 16:9 mode. This was done by widening the horizontal canvas size of the textures by 33%, rather than simply squishing the actual visual data of the texture, as to not reduce the horizontal resolution.
3. Typo Corrections:
Due to some text being stored as a texture, I was able to correct a couple typos that Polyphony made.
1. GT Auto's "cleand" -- cleaned
2. Main menu's "EUROPIAN STREET" -- EUROPEAN STREET
4. Secret Menu instructions added to the options menu background:
The options menu now has instructions on how to access the secret menu on the right side of the screen.
5. Alternate textures:
Included in this pack are some alternate textures that you can replace if desired:
1. Blanked replay watermark textures:
These allow the viewing of replays without the "REPLAY" and the "Gran Turismo 4" watermark
from ever appearing. This may be preferable to some players that wish to watch/record replays
without the watermarks appearing.
2. Odd numbers in the 10,000 RPM and 12,000 RPM tachometers:
Two Alternate tachometer textures that have the odd numbers included.
6. End-user mods:
With all of the texture work already done and textures organized, end-users can easily modify the existing textures in this pack any way
they want using image editing software. End-users can make the UI/HUD look any way they desire. Alternate colors, designs,
etc. are now possible.
7. Compatible with ALL revisions/versions of Gran Turismo 4:

I just recently got back into GT4 after many years, and it seems like my timing couldn’t have been better! It looks great in 4k with texture modding

My PCSX2 technically recorded the time I spent making this, it clocked 287 hours of playtime between every version of the game by the time I was done with it
this is the texture pack of my dreams! I was working on upscaling some of the UI assets myself as a personal project, but seeing this makes me so glad there's already great stuff around!

The switch between low resolution textures to the high resolution textures really do something to me. I don't know what it is, but for real, I love sharp and crisp textures. In NFSU2 some mods really made the diffrence to really enjoy the game again on modern Displays.

Your efforts here are greatly appreciated and these textures were made very well! One of the best racing games was made even better.
I did have a questions though. I managed to get all this set up very easily, but I was wondering if there was any reason NOT to use PCSX2's built in deinterlacing, specifically Bob (Bottom Field First). The picture quality this way is clean and sharp, so it seems to yield the same results as Silent's patch.
PD should make these classic HUD's available in gt7

Have you used any of the HD textures from the GT HD Concept? It uses the same textures as the GT4 does, but it uses way higher resolution versions of those.
I've been using that ui for 2-3 weeks now and I like it. Thanks. One question I have, the custom HUD that Toyta PRIUS has (as its hybrid), in the bottom of the screen, when you use the standard transmission, it is not included on the mod, correct? Or I did something wrong?
*FIXED THERE WAS AN UPDATE* As of 12/07/23 the textures make the game hard crash before just after the "Playstation 2" Logo Boot. On the latest update of PCSX2 v1.7.422
It started with the update at about 2 AM. I hope it’s an emulator bug.

Great work. thank you. I think the only 'bugs' are : The lap counter is not transparent and the grey background of the speed readout is a bit shorter than the original one. I wonder if this mod would easily be scalable to resize it for 21:9 ultra-wide monitors.
Tried this out on the EU version and I ove it great job! One question though, is that Should I switch versions of my GT4? I just wanna play career really. the online version looks cool but not sure how I feel about having all the cars and money at the start
You can switch to US version or you can switch to online, and then once you create your save ,you can immediately edit your save file with the GT4 save editor and take out the money and cars so it starts the same as retail versions.

Hi Silent, can you give me a bit of help, the adjusted triggers sensibility cheat code seems to not be working for me(I made double sure download the file in .pnach format and put it in the cheats folder of the emulator),have the intended GT4 version for said cheat(NTSC-U) and have cheat enabled in settings, is it a problem with PCSX2 1.6.0 or there is something else im not aware of?
This hud is great, but the numbers in the in-race hud have faint boxes around them. Is there some setting I need to change?
tried with 1.7.3467 but doesnt load sadly, only version to work with my fanatec wheel correctly

Great mod really thanks for this however i have a slight issue. It seems on the pal version the hud is slightly stretched vertically any reason why this is happening? (im using latest nightly build)
which is strange i've just bought forza 5 and installed it, but idk why my mind is going to installing the latest pcsx2 build (which is more smoother framesrate) and crusing down the japan championship again with my fairlady z haha love this game, such a timeless masterpiece
Is it possible to use this texture pack with AetherSX2? Or will it only work on PCSX2?
I noticed borders around some of the text assets (Such as the numbers on the lap counter). Is this something that is fixable? It is a bit distracting but otherwise I do really like this retexture.
For some reason my lap counter, best/last lap, and split times don’t have fully transparent backgrounds, so they are sitting in slightly translucent boxes. Why might that be? I’m using latest nightly with settings per the video. I’m using NTSC version of GT4.
Just an emulation bug. Make sure blending accuracy is set to basic for vulkan renderer to keep that to a minimum. Increasing blending accuracy makes that worse
i cant download the file anymore because appranlty the first time it got corrupted and the seconfd time it finshed but it says that the file is invaild
Using the latest version of QT however, your files have different names to all of mine stored in the original replacements folder. Does this no longer work?

Very good job on this mod! Just one question: How to remove the "penalty" text in rally events? I use a code to disable the penalty but the text still appear for 1 second and it's annoying. Thank you!
That's an emulator issue. Setting the EE camping mode to full solves the text remaining on screen, but it will make the game crash when entering a licence test. So switch to normal for licences

The new versions still work with wheels. You can emulate the driving force pro and map anything to it, even a controller

Hey man loving this mod, my only issue is the annoying interlacing shaking in main menus and gt mode until you get into a race and it seems to disappear.
You should be using Bob bff setting in pcsx2, and 480p mode in-game

I think you said it perfectly yourself: This is the missing piece of the puzzle for GT4 emulation. Even without the texture pack, GT4 still looks amazing in a high resolution, and now the UI, which we spend all the time staring at, has the quality to match!
The only thing I've noticed is that the lap counter seems to have a very slight opacity in its background, leading to a grey box around the lap number - you can see this at 3:06 in the video. The file in replacements/text files jap kor usa pal shared/4d9e0d...png (numbers with a black outline) seems to be the issue, but the file _without_ the black outline doesn't have this problem so I ended up tweaking that file to look the same, then replacing the texture. Haven't extensively tested it, but I'm happy to send the file over.
But I mean... the fact that this is the level of nitpicking to find fault with this mod... fantastic stuff!

Why there is a grain filter on the Carreer Mode map?
We really need a way to turn off or remove the noise of the tribune. They create a very unpleasant whistle that is annoying. And the whistle when installing a custom gearbox.

I am unable to open the zip folder, whenever I'm trying to unpack the contents it writes "Folder zip called is invalid" :( Any ideas how to fix that? Can you check the uploaded files on your end?

what up brother thanks for the Mod man just looked at some of the stuff also i got a question with your HUD texture pack i now made a completly new game save again just to replay the glory days one thing i just noticed what i wanted to ask you i noticed that seattle still has the same 480p texture cause i was wondering why it still looked so blurry and it wasnt in the files either or did you forgot to do the track map of seattle in 4k appreciate it brother its only a small thing that i noticed but still respect for doing this man let me know cause of the seattle track map thing cause it wasnt in the files 👊🏼

@@olevet75 disables position, laps and map as well, lap and position shows at checkpoints
@@Rafeku1 yes I fired up game and saw it, just haven't noticed that position and lap appears on checkpoints! Would've been neat if you could disable it with code and rest to leave the way it is
How do you open the file? I've downloaded both versions and I get an error for trying to open or extract.

Got it, went ahead and created my own folder to put it in, titled 'SCUS-97328' since that's my copy of the game. Nice mod!
