Thank you for this comparison. I have both, but my NKJV Clarion is in the less expensive split calfskin. I think I just prefer the TN over the Clarion because the font size is bigger at 10.5. However, I love the way the Clarion maps the references alongside the verses, whereas the TN groups them as bottom aligned. The best place for the references, IMO, would be mapped alongside the verses but on the inside column rather than outside (thus pushing the biblical text out onto the flat of the page). The blue TN is also lovely.
So glad I found this comparison! I have that NKJV (in blue), and it’s a joy to read. I was considering a Clarion in ESV since the layout looked similar online, but the type size difference stopped me cold. These old eyes appreciate larger fonts. 😂 I wish Thomas Nelson had other translations in that format. Thanks, bruh… saved me a few bucks. 😉
Thomas Nelson has really upped the game when it comes to their Bibles. I own one of their NKJV SCR's in blue genuine leather. I think it shares the same text block as the one you have there. The blue one has two ribbons and the edge gilt has a real cool pattern on it in silver which compliments the blue very nicely. It is a paste down liner and there is no perimeter line like the Premier collection Bibles. Great video! I really enjoy your channel! God Bless!
Is the font size noticeable, I'm actually torn between the NKJV Clarion or the KJV TN Premier Personal Single-Column reference in Red Goatskin (personal size doesn't come in NKJV)
I can’t speak personally for the two you were talking about. But between these two, I can definitely say the Thomas Nelson has a much more readable font.
I really appreciate the reply, I believe your TN has a 10.5 point font and the TN I described has a 10 point font compared to the Clarion's 8.75 point font. You definitely helped my decision! Thank you 😁
I know this is a year old now, but these two are the two I’m going back and forth between. Thanks for this!
Glad it’s helpful

I totally agree about the inside column! That keeps the text as far from the gutter as possible. Thanks for watching Tony!

Right on Mark! I’ve seen the one you have online and it looks awesome. I’m glad you are enjoying the content.
Thank you for the review and comparison Colton. Love the tan color and the red accents on the TN edition. 👍
Same here Mike. Red accents really take it to the next level.
I like the Clarion. I'm thinking of picking up a ESV Heirloom, Heritage Edition.
The Heritage looks so awesome. I would love to get my hands on one sometime.
keep these videos coming and for those who haven't subscribed to this channel -- subscribe Colton will not disappoint! PRAISE JESUS -- GOD Bless

@@We.R.Comics you are most welcome. I just checked the box and can confirm it is 10.5
How many words and/or characters per line in each?
I have no idea. Haven’t counted. But now I’m curious. May have to when I get back to my office where they are.
@@coltonyarbro that’s would be greatly appreciated brother. I’m very interested in the TN. But from pics and vids the line lengths look kinda long.
