Where it compromised with the other SCRs in the Premier Collection is margin space and gutter space. While the lack of gutter space is workable, it is significant. Some of the features are the always beautifully done spine hubs, 36gsm Premium European paper, words of Christ are in black, the text has red accents which add a nice pop, it has a nice generous 1/4 inch yapp (hence the measurements), an animal skin liner, and finally three really nice 3/8th inch double sided satin ribbons. Great video Tim! Despite the gutter (which I think could have been done better as well) it is probably my favorite NKJV on the market. The size and single column check both my top boxes. Not to mention the quality.
I LOVE the NKJV SCR .. even the compact!! ( I'm Sierra on FB where I make jokes I'm not well educated in and get warnings from the FB police 🤣) Oh and me being a goat owner for years now in the tropics.. yes I bet he got in a fight at school bahaha 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Good review Tim. I've had one for about seven months and I really like it. I just got the NKJV Maclaren and I'm actually liking that one just a little bit better than this one. This SCR is much nicer overall, I like the size, the layout, just about everything in this one is much nicer. I prefer the single-column but the text in the Maclaren seems a bit less cramped. Regardless, this is still a keeper for me.
I like the footprint on this one, if they would put the references in the center instead of the edge (I think they did on the wide margin SCR) that would also help with the gutter issue. Just my opinion.
I brought the NKJV Single Column in the Goatskin Brown and I swear amazon sold me a fake, it looks the same inside and the paper is correct but the cover seems like a dud (a fake). Its not supple or thick like everyone else's. It's thin, flat, stiff & shiney like pigskin. The cover feels plasticy. Theres little to no grain and the paint is shiney and rubbery. Even the paint on the cover is coming off as soon as I opened the box and it smells like chemicals and not leather. Even the pain is the wrong colour brown. I gently rub my finger nail on paint and it cracks and comes off so easily i can literally see the leather underneath. At this point I'm questioning if its even reaal leather. Also the price on the box says $209.99 when the price on everyone elses says $189.99. I have a NKJV end of verse premium Goatskin brown by Thomas Nelson and it is nothing like this trash cover I've recieved on the single column one. Do you thi k i got sold a fake?

This is one Bible I wish I hadn't gone cheap on and gone with the nicer leather version. It might be my favorite paper though.

Over the years fonts have been adjusted. I’d have to look at this one, but it wouldn’t surprise me if it was a bit smaller.

I don’t think I could use that one…. Writing going into the gutter is bothers me more than it should.
It’s definitely a bit annoying, but I’m guessing this one would loosen up over time.
