But she actively does prevent Ariel and Eric from kissing.
Ursula sings this song: "Seriously how could anyone be dumb enough to sign a contract with this obvious villain?" Anna sings this song: "Where do I sign?"
To be fair to Ariel, her Dad not a few hours ago basically smashed her Surface World fangirl collection and left without saying a word to her. Not hard to look appealing next to that.
Ursula also made it clear what the consequences would be if Ariel didn't manage to get the true loves kiss. Gotta give her props for not hiding it from the mermaid or being devious about it.

I mean.. everybody views Ursula as a villain, but tbh, she's just a businesswoman. Sure she's a little sketch but like.. She even said in her song, "but on the whole, I've been a saint", some people may say she's a liar but it's literally just business. She gives you something, and in turn you give payment. If you don't pay her for her services, you pay in other ways. It's like getting something from a store, but not paying for it. It's stealing essentially, so if you can't pay her, you're stealing her services from her, and she turns you into one of those.. shriveled things, it's like jail time. She's not evil, she's just doing business, and you always expect someone to pay you for doing business with you, if not, you either don't give them the product, or if they already have the product, you go to jail, or pay a fine.
Me: “Eh that’s pretty impressive but I can’t see her sing, like...underwater.” Anna: “And my singing even works underwater ^^.” Me: “I’ll take your entire stock on TH-cam!!!”
I love your version cause it sounds like Ursula is using previous voices she stole to as a ghostly choir in the background as she sings. Idk why but hearing the layered voice bits hits just right for my brain to get obessed with it
For years I've had my own version of The Little Mermaid story stored in the back of my mind in which the Sea Witch presents herself as another mermaid with a "false" face and voice, almost like an angler fish's light, with her real voice being this creepy guttural whisper sound and your cover suits that so perfectly it's uncanny! Almost like her real voice starts coming through as the song amps up. Beautiful rendition, I have no idea how I didn't stumble upon this sooner.
I remember being (presumably) one of the ones that suggested this, and you did not disappoint. And what better time than Halloween to sing a witch's song? :D
This is really great. True enough to the original to be satisfying, but you found ways to add flair and sizzle that elevated it to beyond just a fan cover or karaoke. Your voice is gorgeous like a Disney princess, but your delivery still sells the character and darker story of the song.
omg your voice literally makes me feel like i’m actually in the scene where she is signing ; absolutely beautiful - speechless of the talent right here ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I’d personally never really been interested by song covers but you singlehandedly changed that. Your voice is so rich and beautiful, it always blows me off my feet. Can’t wait to see what else you have in store 💕
I absolutely love this cover... I just can't stop tripping up over the lyrical change of " Talent " to " Quality ". It is so embedded into my memory that I can't unlearn it. I also wish Anna went bigger with her last note seeing as she has a clear world class voice.
I love how there were no rules that stated she couldn’t go on land as Vanessa like she did ( Also it makes sense how her plan was so smart cuz she planned it ever since her banishment.)
Heard that Disney may change this song in the remake, so I ended up looking up this song to hear it. Found this, and glad I did. This was well done. Such a nice take of it, and a great voice you have.
I'd really like to hear you do the follow-up- where she's actually casting the spell- to be honestly the way this song is sung and edited, it sounds like you're casting a spell the entire time, and it's awesome!

Almost like her real voice starts coming through as the song amps up. Beautiful rendition, I have no idea how I didn't stumble upon this sooner.
I'm a simple woman, I see anna post, and everything in my life suddenly becomes better
AAAAAH I'M SO EXCITED I was always secretly hoping you'd sing this song some day. Thank you so much aaaaah !
I really liked the multiple voices when she was singing. It was sooo cool I always appreciate good musicality!
This is one of best versions I ever heard...
Some lines just go through whole body and mind. Thank you so much for your work.
“pathetic” and “come on” was so satisfying, this cover is so much more emotional and im here for it
Oh yes I've been waiting for this cover for ages since it was talked about being done in the livestreams.
aYO THE CHANGE AT 1:32 ,, THATS A NEAT TRICK
dang this cover is amazing the background vocals really add to it "the misserable lonely and depressed *pathetic* " its so good
1:32 FOR THOSE POOR UNFORTUNATE SOULS
I love how she changes her voice to fit each character she is covering. So talented and incredible!
I remember being (presumably) one of the ones that suggested this, and you did not disappoint. And what better time than Halloween to sing a witch's song? :D
If Anna told me to sell her my voice, I sooo would
My absolute favorite part is at 2:16 I just love the emotion and it’s so cool.
That “come on” sent chills down me
This is really great. True enough to the original to be satisfying, but you found ways to add flair and sizzle that elevated it to beyond just a fan cover or karaoke. Your voice is gorgeous like a Disney princess, but your delivery still sells the character and darker story of the song.
Slay 💅💅💅
omg your voice literally makes me feel like i’m actually in the scene where she is signing ; absolutely beautiful - speechless of the talent right here ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I love that as the song goes on she sounds like she's losing her temper. Great work!! And that the lyrics are on the contract Ariel signs
It's moments like 2:01 that cement Anna as one of the best cover artists/musicians ever because she really does *act* through the song
You can tell that she had a blast when singing this.
1:14 must be what she sounds like talking normally!
2:17 "it's sad, but true." this part gaveme chills! it hits just the right spot in my brain!
I’d personally never really been interested by song covers but you singlehandedly changed that. Your voice is so rich and beautiful, it always blows me off my feet. Can’t wait to see what else you have in store 💕
the "now we got her boys" just made me run under my blanket XD so evil. Amazing job, as always
This is so gorgeous. It’s so cool to hear this song in a new voice
love how "soul" is just spinning around in the end
If Ursula started singing like this, I wouldn't need any convincing to sign my voice away
Heard that Disney may change this song in the remake, so I ended up looking up this song to hear it. Found this, and glad I did. This was well done. Such a nice take of it, and a great voice you have.
I love the way you say "Just your voice!" at 2:12!
I'd really like to hear you do the follow-up- where she's actually casting the spell- to be honestly the way this song is sung and edited, it sounds like you're casting a spell the entire time, and it's awesome!
