Segway, one of the most well regarded two wheel electric scooter manufacturers was acquired in 2015 by Ninebot, a Beijing based robotics startup, backed by Xiaomi. Together with Xiaomi Ninebot has released Ninebot Mini to compete with the conventional wide-spread two-wheel electric scooters (also known as Phunkee Duck, Monorover, IO Hawk etc.)

The "toy" part where are remote controlling it can have a very convenient use.
What if you are groceriy shopping from the store down the street?
You can just load your bags on to the mini and let it follow you when you walk back home!.
Also 10mph is fast!!!
Though it may not seem like it, that is fast when you balancing on these things, and when you are on a slight downhill the speed creeps up on you and you have to make conscious efforts to slow down.
I know because I have a Kaiser Baas glider and use it 3-4 times a week for quick "walks" in town.
Also I don't like having to steer with my hands and prefer them to be free ( I carried two pizza boxes, drink and garlic bread in a bag from the local Dominoes pizza store at night back home)
I do like the mini in that it has larger wheels because there are some curbs and bumps I can't get around and have to lift my glider up and over and I believe having inflatable tires will make rides smoother on bumpier roads....but of course it may get a puncture.
The handle is good where in those cases that the battery runs out and you are far from home, because even though the mini is larger and weighs more, it is hell carrying a glider in one arm (heaven forbid you happen to have picked up something else on your travels to get back home) there is that pull handle at least.
The only thing I just don't like about the mini is having to require steering with your knees.
I may wait a few more months to see if they improve on that before deciding to "upgrade" from my glider.

Good comparison. I have the Segway minoPRO which is a step up from the standard ninebot mini but they control the same. The thing I never liked about the standard boards that I could never seem to master is the dip-toe steering. It just feels way too awkward, the Segway MiniPRO uses the knee steering and has adjustable height which really makes it easier to master. My thoughts.
So I have bought two Segways.b where can I buy the handlebars for it??
the handlebar, is it adjustable? like a shorter size for kids?
I've had the Mini for two days testing it and I have already logged 20 plus miles ... with larger off road tires 90/65-6.5 it can really get over uneven surfaces and bumps ... the minipro adjustable bar is key also I am 5' 10.5" taller than Taylor Swift ... she can't even balance on it without hitting a street lamp haha

This thing is 10x better if you order the handlebars for it you can get it off there site. I have a video using the handlebars once I added them never went back to the knee staring, works like a charm :)
They cost an extra 185$ but be sure to get the one with the kick stand.
Interesting, in my case I prefer knee staring.

i like d sedgeway miniplus/pro but with taller handle like yours...
the Ninebot Segway is better as it is safer going faster and better on uneven ground (you can see it on the video). But the best one is the single wheel. Compare the tire size, 6-inch, 10-inch vs 12-16-inch or larger on the one-wheel. Not shown on the video, the one wheel such as Ninebot One (and other brands such as Solowheel) are more natural and better for traveling long distance. They are simply better because you are riding in-line on a single tire. The single wheel is a secret though so you might want to disregard this comment and do not research it.

I hope that xiaomi thing doesn't come with preinstalled adware,trackware like they do in their redmi phones, otherwise that'd be the first scooter which needs rooting.
I think the app is annoying i never wanted any of that shit ,
Most of the time the app don't connect or it needs to update it's a pain in the butt from the start
However the nine bot mini is a great item
But all the so called features for get all that shit ,,
It rides great i go out on it every day I go shopping on it to the market no problem
It does go for a good distance and i recon it's a God 18 kms easy
It is reliable too ,but for me all that app shit is under nearly and annoying too ,
I don't want it to connect to my phone ,I don't care how far it goes ,
I hated the stupid speed limit in fact it was dangerous ,and trying to download the stupid app took a month and it still don't work properly so it wanted to up load a update

And you try to get an email reply from xiaomi i have had my nine bot for nearly 2 years
I have tried to contact them many many many times they never reply ever
And that's a real shame and a huge let down
