@@_egghead Crane operators in parts of the world that value human life are responsible for knowing the loads their equipment can handle and the weight of the loads themselves. I submit that the operator should know and refuse to lift if for no other reason than crane failures often end in the operator getting injured or killed. If someone lied to him about the weight of the airplane or the rating of the crane that is one thing but almost anyone with a 5th grade education could have predicted that this operation would end in Destination F.

Oh man, poor bloke at 3:36 reminds me of a skiing accident I witnessed in Western New York, USA, when I was a kid. I'm just standing there, on a medium slope, when this guy comes skiing down the hill out of control. He face plants, only it wasn't powdery snow... it was ice covered snow. He lifts his head up and his entire face had been shredded, as if someone had taken a cheese grater to his face. I screamed like a girl. Those guys with the big red pluses on their backs came skiing in with a ski stretcher and took him away. Scarred me for life. Thanks for including that reminder in this DF video.

The sledding accidents at the end are my childhood, and the childhood of everyone who grew up in the snow belts. If you didn't get a face full of snow, or a bent spine from an unexpected jump, you weren't doing it right.
You're supposed to hold onto the bloody sledge, until it snaps in half. That's the proper way!

We only had real snow, not only a little blanket of snow, till i was 7, since then only 1 or 2 days that it snows in november and march and april.
But yeah, i know the feeling till today, snow in the face, hurt butts from ice skating and so on, good memories.

I ride downhill skateboarding, and I use a full-face, motorbike helmet. I've really needed it only twice. Once, some weird asphalt basically just stopped my board at once while I was riding at 50km/h and I flew chin first to the ground. I'm really glad I was wearing this helmet.

Guys, you've gotta remember that India (and the rest of the South Asian subcontinent) is a bloody big place, most of it is rural/semi-rural, and much of it lacks a lot of the infrastructure and business investment that we take for granted in fully developed countries. Whenever you see a bunch of dudes enthusiastically making a mess of things, there's a very good chance that the badly overloaded crane/excavator/big truck is the only working one in the village and all the villages around it. The cost/time to bring one in from the nearest city makes it impossible. So if you need to lift a plane or get a digger to a site on the other side of that river, you just have to make do with what you have. Of course, it never helps if the Chief Fuckwit-In-Charge has no idea what he's doing... :)
