An astute and awesome comment from reddit about the video:
(See link below for original post)
    www.reddit.com/r/thinkpad/comments/xv7yqw/watch_me_attempt_to_use_the_thinkpad_t430/ir12k4i?context=3
Good work on the video but there's a couple of things that need to be mentioned and a few small details that were incorrect. Props on it though as I bet that took a lot of work to edit and it isn't easy especially if the software decides to not play nice.
5:08 They (ExpressCard & mPCI-E x1) both offer the same connection (PCI-E v2.0 x1) but the latter requires PCI-E whitelist removal before it can be used for non-WiFi stuff (like eGPU's, NVMe M.2 SSD's, sound & ethernet cards,.). EC doesn't carry a whitelist so you can use pretty much anything and both can provide up to 10W of power for devices.
14:32 Fwiw with an Nvidia card you could use ShadowPlay to record gameplay and not take much of a performance hit. At 1080p60 (20k bitrate) it'll use at most 5MB/s while writing to a recording drive and in Windows 10 it shouldn't desync (A/V) or create multiple files like it would in Windows 7 (OS limitation) for long recordings.
17:06 I'd suggest using MSI Afterburner with Rivatuner RTSS for an OSD since its heavily customizable, free, works with any brand (Intel, AMD & Nvidia), can create custom profiles for each game and it'll remember where the OSD goes so it won't block an in-game HUD or other important stuff. For visibility you can increase or decrease the size of the font as well as add a solid background to make it more visible in recordings.
20:30 While FRAPs was causing issues as you later discovered its always best to use regular Fullscreen mode over Windowed-FS since the latter can cause performance issues, create additional input latency and stutter.
23:33 For eGPU's anything 'Post-Processing' related should be disabled or put to its lowest value to not tank performance and that includes Motion-blur. Reason its a problem is the eGPU has to send data back through the pipe to the CPU and then back to the eGPU which eats up a lot of bandwidth.
41:40 That's basically 7D2D in a nutshell when it comes to optimization in general, it can get frustrating at times especially on horde night or in larger cities.
1:13:40 I doubt it would be as much of an issue with an Nvidia card since you'd have Data Compression (Fermi card or newer) and it puts Gen2 EC slightly above Thunderbolt 1 (something AMD cards lack hence why they suffer on x1 links).
On a lesser known side note there were older eGPU adapters that could bridge multiple PCI-E lanes into one connection for increased bandwidth and there's newer ones being developed which can bridge multiple NVMe M.2 slots in a similar fashion. The PE4H v2.4 is one of the older ones that can combine up to four (EC & mPCI-E x1 slots) but iirc was limited to Gen1 connectivity and I could have sworn I'd seen a variant of the EXP GDC or PE4L/PE4H which could do up to two with Gen2 connectivity. The only thing though with bridging iirc is the PCI-E ports need to match (Ports 1+2 and 3+4) which you can use HWiNFO to check and see what number a port was assigned (for mPCI-E & EC).

My brother has a t430 and the thing is built like a tank. Still works good too. The only laptop/pc that I have at the moment is an x230 with the i7 and 8gb of ram, and its a great daily driver. Not the best for playing modern 3d games, but if you are happy to play old school games, or some modern games with low system requirments, then its perfectly fine. When gaming anything graphically intensive it tends to heat up a lot, but well that is to be expected. The x230 was not really built for gaming.

This video showing up in my notifications today of all days is very strange in a good way since today is the last day of using my T430 exclusively for two weeks. I moved 2 weeks ago and I was without my gaming pc for this 2 weeks and my only other device was a phone. My specs are 1vyrain bios with battery and wifi whitelist mod, Intel 6205 a/b/g/n wifi adapter, 8 gb ram, 500 gb ssd boot drive and 1 tb spinning drive in cd drive caddy with stock display and I triple-boot Windows 10 enterprise, mint cinnamon, and kali. Only during the 2nd week I had used a borrowed 1080p monitor, keyboard, and mouse with the T430. I'm impressed with what the T430 can do and will come back to edit this post today or tomorrow as I haven't had time to watch the video yet because I just woke up and have to unload the moving truck today!

I have a lot of great choices in modern laptops, but my heart still wants a thinkpad. This abomination of a laptop in the eyes of a lot of people but built like a tank still makes me feel like the second I got some spare money to buy one just to have it as a secondary laptop to play around with.

Bro hi, got you. Thanks for the answer. Look, one more question then, if you don't mind. My display lid began to touch the body of the laptop itself when opening and closing. That is, the gap between this display cover and the case has disappeared and she rubs it every time. I took a closer look and saw that the lid of the lisplay just bent a little, as if inside. Don't you have one? Or is it for everyone and is it their common disease? :)
P.S. He is already a bunch of years old, and he was perfect until recently. And what I described above happened after I kept it open for the last three months ... I didn’t wear it anywhere, I didn’t take it with me, I didn’t close the lid with the display. It just stood open at home and I used it in this state ...
