@margaretwilliams4829 yes, I love the original MK bags. If you find a vintage one, they didn't have the logos all over them.. just a pretty simple leather bag, beautiful colors and styles with the MK logo on the bottom or tag.
@@kenyabutts3592 yesss Luv I’ve been rocking a few of mines here lately and loving it. I got a mustard Dooney that is BADD so pull that Mustard coach out and ENJOY!!!!
Beautiful. Pulled out an old Coach black saddle bag a few days ago, didn’t know what to do to restore its beauty but now have the steps, thanks to your video.
It's a old fashioned way that everyone use to do to their shoes when I was little . I'm now age 65. It brings back memories. I haven't seen this done since I was about age 10.
I found a buffalo check wool scarf, new, at the thrift store yesterday. I paid 3.99 for it. I didn't know they made scarves but the made by tag says coach and it has a square leather tag that says coach on one corner. Anyone know anything about this?????
First time I have seen a bag restored and it's absolutely wonderful to see the fantastic job he did with it. Makes me feel bad that I have tossed out some stuff over the years that had worn out. So easy to caringly restore. Excellent vid.
Gorgeous. I have a Coach that I've had about 15 years and is still in great condition. I'll be sure to keep saddle soap and conditioner for future cleaning.
I've watched my dad, uncles, and grandfather care for leather products (saddles, shoes, boots, etc.) for years and it was always so magical to me to see the transformation! 😍
Same. It also works for leather footwear. I bought a pair of vintage Paul Green ankle boots, refurbished them- Voila- $500 boots for $25!! And it's kinda fun to do.
Still have my Coach bag from the 80s. It looks similar to this, but had a buckle that closed a top flap. Wish Coach still made these classics. They were so simple and elegant. You did a great job restoring this one.
I have one from the 70s and it doesn't have a buckle but a strap fitted thru a loop but it hasn't been looked after it wasleft in a damp basement ...my mother's...I should see if I can find it and try to restore it.
Please, I need any tips you may have for cleaning Coaches(along with product information). How do I clean the insides? And the green patina that forms around the brass parts? What about scents?
I literally gasped at the result! 😍 Fantastic work! Thank you for showing how to do this! I have a vintage coach that also needs some TLC and you’ve inspired me
I have one from the 70s dear sweet friend left it for me in her will, she was a hollicost survivor from Paris, Love and miss you momma Jenette. Your bag is in perfect condition, just like it was when you had it.
I have that exact one! I got it on consignment two years ago. It’s not as beat up as your “before,” but it could definitely use a spa day; I’m going to try all of these things. Thank you!
I love the old vintage coaches because the coach is nowadays are not near as good as they were back in the '70s and '80s and so that's why I like the vintage bags and I keep mine clean and moist and you have to do that in order to keep the bag from getting stiff I love what you're doing and it's really nice that someone else can take care of the vintage bags and understand how to do it Thank you❤❤❤❤❤
I tried to make a leather bag similar to this one but I needed more experience and thicker leather. I laced the parts together instead of sewing but I was not happy with the result.
That's so amazing I love these videos and as someone who has started to buy second hand clothes a lot more the past couple years because of cost but mostly for the environment I love seeing bags and shoes fixed instead of thrown away. Love sustainable fashion ❤️
I found a Pariani Italian jumping saddle at a Salvation Army Thrift store covered in dried mud for $50.00. I did the same thing as this person. While I haven't ridden in years it was my lifes's dream to own one of these extraordinary saddles. Among those of us who grew up in the 60s and 70s this was the finest saddle on the market. Quality always holds its value.

You did great! As a 30+yr equestrian, I can tell you that most horse people know how to clean their tack and you did exactly what I would have done! I must have tried almost all of the leather care products out there over the years:) To rehydrate/ 'enrich' the look and help weatherproof really dry leather, there's nothing better than neatsfoot oil. It's also really cheap too! Cheers!
My grandmother has worked at coach for twenty years, retail location. She said that they sell cleaner there for your bags but dove soap watered down it's similar and that's how they will clean their person bags. Just take a bowl of water and put a little drop of the unscented dove into the bowl and mix it. Then use a wash cloth and damp it then clean your bag. You don't want to get it super wet but this works for doing spot cleaning.
Great job! And yes that was a very popular Coach bag in the 90s... Very nice and chic... goes well with everything. I hope they bring it back. Coach is an outstanding company.
The vintage Coach leather bags are making a comeback. I paid $400 for mine in the 90's. It still looks fantastic.
I stole my mom's 😂 carrying it As we speak. Long term "borrowing" her bucket one.. its next on rotation 😈
I paid $6 for 4, all the colors, at World Thrift. It was about 10 years ago, these bags are so sturdy and still look amazing after 30 years!❤
@@i_hateithere that'd such a good deal *jealous*
When I moved - I donated a good majority of my Coach purses - my brother gave them to his co-workers - they LOVED them!!!
The ad says $220....you got fleeced
I love how simple the coach bags use to be. I hate all the Cs and nonsense now days. This is beautiful ❤
I agree! Coach is now just a characature. Pink Cs and butterflies.
They don't make this type of quality anymore. So dissatisfied but sometimes you can get some type of quality bags and cute designs
I agree I don't need all the letters on a bag to know what I have and not trying to prove or be a show-off of what I bought
I always think that about a bag. I hate MK.

Nothing better than finding something old and making it beautiful again. Its gorgeous and your voice is soothing as heck.😊
Coach leather used to be much better than the new ones.
I still have this EXACT SAME purse!!
I can barely hear him.
Beautiful!
hand rubbing the leather- so traditional ...a sign of quality. Great video
This is my all time. Favorite Coach design. Simple, crossbody leather. Oh my stars - your restored one is fantastic.
I loved it. I wish I still had mine.
I had this classic one too. I don't remember where ai stored it 😢

The calmness of your voice and the care in restoring the bag is so soothing!
Incredible cleaning 🧼!! &&& No music, just wonderful narrator tone !!🎉❤😊
I have that bag. That was when Coach still made quality bags here in the US.
Great job!
Yes! What happened to the beautiful quality Coach used to produce?
BEAUTIFUL!❤❤❤❤
I have it too. I Love it that is doesn't have lining.
I also have it in black
Yes, I have it in red with the wallet.
I still have my black Saddle bag from Coach from 1988!! Back when Coach was all leather and not that trendy dated print.
I'm sooooo jealous ❤😊
Omg! I remember those bags! I had a small version! Coach was THE bag to have! Gorgeous.
I still have all my 90s Coach purses. Classic and timeless.

Coach also restores their bags and will replace broken hardware.

I've bought many at thrift stores and reconditioned them. I've had my 1st one since 1992 and it looks brand new!!

The quality in the leather simply isn’t there. What they make now is an inferior product.

Beautiful! At 74 years old vintage, to me, means 1920-30’s not 1996. I do this with every one of my bags.
100+ years is considered antique. 20-99 years is vintage.
