I've been fascinated with learning about my "culture" since I got my ancestry results a few years ago. I use parentheses because I'm apparently 41% irish "which explains my red beard I guess" but I live in the US. Irish is my number one trait and by a decent amount with Scottish in second at 25% my dad was adopted from Canada and I found out I got all my irish from his side. I have no idea who my family actually is or what my real last name should be. (Given he was adopted and given the last name of his adoptive parents.) They then, after adopting him, brought him back to the United States where they lived. And so as a first generation American who has found irish roots, I want to learn the language as a start. And so I found this channel. It seems daunting but fascinating as a language. And I'm in absolute love with it. That being said, I have to laugh a bit. I mean this with all the respect I could give. My first thought when hearing it, is it's the language they use in the Sims games. Lol am I the only one who sees the connection? Also, main question, are there any specific websites or apps that native speakers know of that are the best, accurate sources that make it easy to learn ? I'm absolutely fascinated with learning this language so I can help (even to the small degree I'm capable of speaking it here in my country where NOBODY ELSE will probably care other than me) keep it alive and pass it along to my children.

You are very good. You speak clearly and precisely - and even though you are speaking in an Ulster dialect, and I'm more use to Munster Irish, I understand a lot of what you say. I wish someone was doing what you are doing in the Munster dialect. Maith thú!
(Tá súil agam go bhfuil tú ag déanamh cúpla pingin as seo?)

A bheith macánta, is aoibhinn liom na tuisil ginideach mar gur fhoghlaim mé na tuisil ginideach ar suíomh gréasáin an t-am seo chaite, d'fhoghlaim mé na tuisil deacair ar ag úsáid foclóir na gaeilge agus chuir me na tuisil deacair amach ar samsung notes mar sin is féidir liom breathnú ar ais agus cuimhnigh iad sa todhcaí
