My Dad lived @ Salt Springs in the late 40's when it was wild. We vacationed there alot in the 60's & 70's. We used to catch blue crabs, catch bass, bream, mullet & feast. Those were the days.
Just an FYI, the low flying jets are there because there are a bunch of low level training routes. There is a target area on the east side of lake George and not far away is the pine castle complex.
Those rocks look like they’re actually kind of green. Is that algae in the sand looks the same color if that’s the case that water is high in nitrates. Which would be reasonable it’s right there where all the military do their stuff. It’s a bombing range up there.I’ve lived here all my life in Florida been to Alexander Springs and most of the other ones. I don’t think I’ve ever been to salt Springs. I might have to check it out. Thanks for this video.
Thank you! Yes there is some algae for sure. Nowhere near as bad as springs like Troy or Peacock tho. I definitely recommend checking out Salt. So unique! 🩵💙
My husband, five year old daughter, and I moved to Florida last year. My daughter and I love the water. We live in Tampa. I really want to visit a spring here in Florida since watching your videos. Can you recommend a spring for us to visit for our first Florida spring experience? Also when should we go?
Hi! Thanks for reaching out! There are so many great springs around the state. Between now and spring break (mid March) is my fav time because there are no crowds. But honestly since the water stays 72 degrees year round, it’s always a great time to go. Each spring is different because of the different activities. A great all-around spring is Silver Glen in the Ocala National Forest. There’s a huge swimming area. Both shallow and deep spots. Great spot to snorkel. You can also rent kayaks and there’s a great chance you will see manatees. I did a video focused on Silver Glen. Please check that video for lots of info! Have an amazing time. Feel free to reach out any time!
@@ANonyMouse627 haha no. But I will say it feels very refreshing in the summer and warm in the winter. It really is a perfect temp. Just cold at first touch 🩵
I went there several times and it was beautiful, but the only downfall were the boats that would park right up against the ropes of the swimming area with huge speakers, and blast very loud gangster rap with all the cuss words over the entire area, ruining an otherwise pleasant atmosphere :-(
Just left Salt Spring. There is no where in that park to hike unless your camping in the park. I like the water activites but to not offer a trail to walk and site see is RIDICULOUS
Wow the prices went up like crazy, this was where I went to camp for the very first time when I was 15 it was an unforgettable experience back then though I don’t think there was a ban on fishing the crabs we ate some 🫢 ooops
@@artofadventurepascalemo definitely I’m glad I found your channel! What part of Florida are you in? I’m from Tampa currently in Orlando for a few weeks though.
What’s your YT channel so we can compare? 😂 I love keyboard warriors. Just out there showing people with every nasty comment they have no life and are the saddest, most insecure people(?) out there. Did you make yourself feel better about your pathtic life? 😂😂😂
Park at the boat launch and swim or kayak to the springs. That's what I do and it works out great!
🩵🙌
Thank you for the video, you guys answered a lot of the questions I had.
Yes! Thank you!
My wife and I live across the street in salt springs resort. We love it there and the grand kids
Salt is so unique. Love it too 🩵
Good job Pascale and Mo. Quite an interesting introduction to Salt Springs Florida.

Sounds AMAZING! 💙I love Salt Springs. I would’ve been stoked to see it with natural borders. Too much concrete in my opinion. Still love it tho 🤙
Thank you for doing this.

You are an excellent narrator

Thanks! It’s pretty wild to see them! Love it.
Those are mullet not striped bass!
Thank you 🙏
I decided to see if anybody else commented before I said the same. Great spring. Been there.

@@fredd410 I have seen striped bass in the silver Glen spring
@@fredd410 and there was a bunch of big ones I think they like the deep open water.

Wow the parking at the Marina next door was $10 to park last year.
I know. It’s crazy to double the cost. 😳 Too expensive IMO 💸
What is the water temperature??
72 degrees year round!
@@artofadventurepascalemo ooh that's cold haha. I was hoping if it mixes with a river or if it's shallow maybe it might be warmer xD

Yes. Yes. And more yes 🤿💙
Right! 💙💯😎
Where are you allowed to catch the blue crabs at ?
Cedar Key is a popular spot!
💙💙💙
😎
Thanks for the video. Pretty sure those fish are mullet. Common in fla and eat a vegetarian diet
Thank you. I’m so bad at fish ID 😂

Yeah Salt is beautiful. My favorite time is the off season (when kids are in school). Nice and peaceful! 💙
Did you know they are closing all of that access in Jan 2025?
Which part are they closing?
Those aren't stripped bass they are mullet!!
Thank you!!!

I agree. You can’t even launch a kayak unless you camp. Erg. The spring is unique tho. Lot to be said about that

Oooops. 🦀 Haha. Yeah the prices seem to go up every summer now. I guess still way cheaper than Disney 😅
