Need to try La Gomera in the Canaries. Just come back from a 3 month tour. Incredible roads. Very few tourists and felt like we had the roads to ourselves for 2 days. Great series of vids Bruce.

We are off next year but going over to Portugal aswell 😁 can’t wait. Last year was my first time in the Pyrenees and it was amazing! The best riding I had ever done.

My GSA 1250 has 5th and 6th gears, Bruce.....just sayin' ........;-) Great series - lovely roads and scenery. But best of all is the banter and jokes!! Must have been great fun in the evening time over a few pints.
I personally only use 5&6 for motorways and dual carriageways. For these types of roads you will have more control of your machine in 3&4. Don’t be afraid of working at the higher limits of your bikes rev range. They are designed for it.

It’s probably been mentioned elsewhere and I’ve missed it but the N-621 between Panes & Potes has around seven or eight long sections of roadworks ( improving the road) and it can take an hour longer to cover the seventeen miles !
Unfortunately it’s true, they are widening the gorge section of road. I went through on a weekday afternoon whilst they were working and it took an extra hour. Going north on Saturday morning it was maybe 40 minutes, they weren’t working but had guys managing traffic flow.. As you know it’s not an easy road to avoid if going to Potes………have a great trip whatever 👍

I been using the insta360 Ace Pro for most of 2024 after finally giving up on the GoPro’s after using them since the very first one - they simply aren’t reliable enough and the insta/DJI just give better image quality now. I’ve just been sent the new Ace Pro 2 so will be trying that out for the next few months 👍

So for the next year or 2, I will be building my experience on the 125. Hopefully, this year, I will start making plans to get my full licence. Bruce, great set of vids in the Picos. Thinking about booking next year, but I have a question about suitable bikes. Currently have a sports tourer (Kawasaki Z1000SX), but also looking at a second bike for just banging miles on when I just want a 300 mile day on my own (BMW R1250RT). I know both can tour, but which would be more suitable for a trip like this (and the Scotland one I’m considering booking as well !)
All depends on what bikes are on each tour, we tailor the fuel stops to the lowest fuel range, so if there’s an Mt10 or Tuono on the tour, then we’ll have a fuel stop every 80-100 miles. We usually stop roughly every hour to hour and a half anyway
Just simple rider error bud - it’s very easy on Spanish roads to get sucked in. They make you ride faster and faster at times and you get over confident, but they have a habit of tightening up unexpectedly on you if you don’t read them all the way around the bend. He put an overtake on at the approach to a bend that perhaps wasn’t really on, and then when the bend tightened up he didn’t think he’d make it, hit the brakes, stood the bike up, and hit the barrier. Easily done tbh
Hi Bruce, thanks for another great video. I saw that you wear a Helite Turtle 2 air bag vest. Just wondered what your thoughts are on it and did you go for tethered or electronic? They're a lot of dosh (especially the electronic with the fork sensor) so I'd value your opinion. Cheers.
They’re a great bit of kit that could save your life and WILL help to lessen an injury if you come off - so all good for me. Mine is the electronic one as I ride a variety of bikes at times and wanted to be able to wear it on any bike. Only negatives for me after around 3 years of owning it are that it’s quiet hot in warm weather as it restricted airflow through your jacket, and it’s another layer so you do look even bigger once it’s over your bike jacket etc - but I’m a fat knacker so I can’t blame it on the vest! 🤦♂️🤣 Only issue I’ve had is that it detonated once when I was on the eurotunnel and picked it up off the bike to put on, just as we were coming to a stop - it actually does say in the destructions to switch it off on the tunnel…. But who reads instructions? 🤷♂️🤦♂️ I’d certainly say there’s no negatives to the Helite e-turtle vest if you can afford one, an amazing piece of safety kit

'Civilization' .... I find it strange how on the continent these villages never seem to have any inhabitants or activity. In France it feels like the whole village is shuttered up like one of those apocalypse films.
Love the content but would also love a vid of just purely unedited, no music, nice twisties with the odd commentary for 15min would be relaxing to watch aswel
Although the Picos are superb, there’s better roads to the East, away from camper vans and cow pats. Try looking at what I call the Golden Triangle, between Jaca, Ainsa, Berga.
Aye I’ve done the Pyrenees many times, heading back again in June actually, but I prefer the Picos and West personally. Pyrenees is great, but Picos beats it for me

Because the bear is off the main road, and people are enjoying the ride so stay on that main road until they see the deer
