Thanks for the video, Zdenka. May I ask what the advantage is shooting with this gimbal versus just doing it handheld. I think the internal stabilization of the iPhone 14 is already more than enough.

I am new with gimbals and still learning, and have a question if you are so kind to answer, sometimes when operating my smooth5 gymball it does not let me switch among modes. sometimes is on the "L" mode and I try to push the mode button and nothing happens, what do you think is the reason?
You will choose only the mount you want to use… I you film in landscape mode and you will film again in landscape with the same set up, then you are good to go… but if you change something like add accessories you have to rebalance it.. basically before you turn it on, make sure it looks balanced

You just moved more to the side… I don’t have the DJI mic but I have different one and I just move it. Again, though, as I don’t have that microphone from DJI I cannot confirm.

Hi, I love your video clips, really easy to follow, I am facing an issue with it, when ever I move the zoom wheel, it jumps when it cross from 1x to up and same when it moves from 4x and up, how can I fix this jump issue, please advise. Thanks

You can use it with any app you’re just not going to get all the features you would get in ZY Cami. If you film in cinematic mode, you can just use the gimbal as a stabilization. I hope it makes sense.

Yes, the gimbal can absolutely be used without the app, wherever you will need to activate it. You can certainly install the app, activate the gimbal, and then choose other app you will be using.
Need help I'm in a dilemma should I switch from the smooth 5s to the hohem isteady m6 .... I have a s22 ultra and not sure if I should switch going on family vacation and want to best option . I want to use my native camera app what should I do
Your video gives me hope. I know people have liked this product but I was not impressed by my 5S, it will randomly lose horizon or tracking and wander off like an impatient child. I was also not a fan of the app which I had difficulty setting up and eventually gave up on. I compare that with my other recent purchase, the Hohem Go, which was much less expensive, well performing and easy-to-use with no-need for an app. I will say though the magnetic light feature on the 5S is great - so hope that there is an app update, and maybe a firmware update in the future... but if not, it may be just a cool desktop tripod for me.

Hello… I am sorry you are having trouble. I unfortunately never did 6 side calibration with any gimbal so I cannot really help. I would highly suggest contacting Zhiyun customer support in your case….

@@binnujoshi Issues with most Android phones whether you buy the Smooth 5, 5S or OSMO6 is that the mfg's are lagging behind in the Android community. Many video resolution modes and frame rates may not be accessible or limited to 30 fps, and even those may not support the UWA or ultra wide angle lens mode used. in other words when you choose say 1080p 60 fps it may not be an option on these apps with your model phone. Even the latest model Samsung, Google, LG, Sony, etc mobile phones that have awesome camera features those will NOT be selectable modes in the Zhiyun or DJI apps because the app makers are lazy. You will be basically forced to shoot with your own camera's native camera app and not be able to use the Android apps for the gimbals regardless of Zhiyun, or DJI apps used. They both are terrible. In this day and age it is pretty damned lame that users would have to buy an iOS phone to use a sub $200 gimbal... really really lame!! This is ONE MAJOR situation many of these channels and YT content providers do NOT discuss... instead a very generic response like "certain Android devices may find features inoperable" Which doesn't actually tell the user anything else but well... look, if you have an Android device, you will be forced to use your phone's native camera app unless you want to shoot most resolutions at 30 fps...... No, FILMIC Pro does not work well either. Don't waste your money on that Basically this, if you shoot 30 fps video you will be fine with the Smooth 5, 5S or an OSMO 5 or 6.. If you want WA camera and 60 fps at 1080P or higher... NOT HAPPENING ! Learn to use the gimbal of choice with your camera's Native camera app because these apps for Zhiyun and DJI won't work
Hi ye. Great tips. I have the 5S and am having massive problems with keeping my phone horizontal. I have the gimbal about a month and everything I do the horizon is crooked by about 2 degrees. Normally this wouldn't matter too much but I'm an architectural photographer and need everything as straight as possible. I returned the first one that I bought and exchanged for a new one is is out by 3 degrees. Doing the calibration in ZY Cami does nothing. Zhiyun suggested running their own Zhiyun Gimbal Tools software but it also doesn't work. Have you any tips? Phone is the iPhone 13 Pro Max and is perfectly balance before Turing on!

Hi Zdenka, i have a 14 Pro max (240g) and want to buy the Moment Case (42g) and Adapter vor 67mm lenses (6g) and a 67mm VND Filter. Do you think that should work fine ? Do you think it will work also with the moment anamorphic lens with 67mm VND Filter ? What do you think ? Also want to use only the moment app cause filmic pro is to expensive with the new price model. Can you say that Zhyyun App works flawless for making some shots with 24/4k 1/48 Shutter ? I’m going to tell you one thing. Wait three weeks. New gimbal is about to hit the market and I think you should really see this one. I cannot say unfortunately what it is but he will definitely see it.

A DJI with better mechanical construction type (to make more gymbal moves) that has like 350g workload would be perfect. The mimo app is ok to shoot some shots with all remote options in the mimo app. It´s not ok to pay so much money for stacam app when you want to use a gymbal that you buy from the same company of the app. I think many people buy a DJI for this reason also you can`t make all normal gymbal moves. Zdenka, I cannot connect my Samsung no 10 to smooth 5s. At first before update the Bluetooth connected, and after update, the connection try always failed. Any advice to fix it?
Hm…. Ok go to their website.. it is a bit complicated but you need to find how to update firmware through computer.. not app. You will need to connect cord to your computer… I’ll address it on Instagram next week.. adding it to the list
I recently conducted a live video test on Facebook using my Zhiyun Smooth 5 gimbal. When I use the gimbal, my recordings have a noticeable rumbling noise. However, this sound is absent when I record without the gimbal. Why does this rumbling noise occur when using the gimbal for live videos? Any help would be appreciated.
I mean gimbal is only about shooting or videoing? What if I wanted to save those doing what shall I do to save that picture or video? What is the key to press or toggle to be able to save that things in my cell 📲?
Hello!! I’m having trouble having my Zhiyun Smooth 5, it only last 5 seconds before it turns itself off without the charger.. I tried balancing it with the phone and the Smooth 5, but it still turns itself off. For it to not turn itself off, is I have to keep the charger in the Smooth 5. Please help!
I'm so confused. I've got a 5S and downloaded the app but the manual settings are completely missing. I can't shoot in 60fps, can't adjust exposure, anything.
I’m not sure if my 5s is defective but when I first turn it on and balance the phone after a few seconds, the gimbal gives up. I have to turn it off and turn it back on and redo the balancing, after this it works sometimes but once I put the gimbal on a flat surface (still with the phone attached) it suddenly “gives up” again. Anyone having the same or similar problem?
be mindful and read the compatibillity specs , found out the hard way that the Smooth 5 it is not compatibility listed for Samsung S22 Ultra / and the Smooth 5s it is not compatibility listed for Samsung S23 Ultra
I am sorry to hear it… you should be able to balance it no problem. I cannot help as I don’t see what you are doing…. Start with one arm at a time, refer to manual

Has anyone tried the gimbal with out Electronic Image Stabilization. Why is it so wobbly? Its disappointing to buy a $200 Dollar gimbal that cant even stabilize properly. Its strange no youtuber is mentioning this.

Given that the StaCam and ZY Cami apps require you to pay for prime membership in order to access all available features, would you recommend just paying for Filmic Pro instead and using it instead? I figure I'm already paying for Filmic Pro and I'm not sure I want to pay for Prime membership in these apps; my feeling is that if I have already paid $170 for a product, I should not have to pay the maker of that product even more to unlock features on the item I already paid for, but I realize that's an old-fashioned attitude these days. 🤔 Today everything is about subscriptions and microtransactions. 🫤

great video! do you have to do thru the horizonta/vertical mounting steps each time you go out to film or is it a one time deal?

With that setup you can't use a dji mic adapter on ur iPhone right ? Because you don't have space betweeen the iPhone and the gimbal ?

StaCam has extra options where you can control certain settings directly from a gimbal. For me personally, it doesn’t matter what app I use

You can attach it before or after balancing. Pretty much you can attach it anytime if you use it or not.

Unfortunately, that jump is switching lenses. It is the way it is designed and it cannot be really changed.

If you already have smooth 5 it is a good gimbal as well …. If you don’t need tracking keep it

You would use the magnetic light on top… just turn it towards you

@@binnujoshi Issues with most Android phones whether you buy the Smooth 5, 5S or OSMO6 is that the mfg's are lagging behind in the Android community. Many video resolution modes and frame rates may not be accessible or limited to 30 fps, and even those may not support the UWA or ultra wide angle lens mode used. in other words when you choose say 1080p 60 fps it may not be an option on these apps with your model phone. Even the latest model Samsung, Google, LG, Sony, etc mobile phones that have awesome camera features those will NOT be selectable modes in the Zhiyun or DJI apps because the app makers are lazy. You will be basically forced to shoot with your own camera's native camera app and not be able to use the Android apps for the gimbals regardless of Zhiyun, or DJI apps used. They both are terrible.
In this day and age it is pretty damned lame that users would have to buy an iOS phone to use a sub $200 gimbal... really really lame!! This is ONE MAJOR situation many of these channels and YT content providers do NOT discuss... instead a very generic response like "certain Android devices may find features inoperable" Which doesn't actually tell the user anything else but well... look, if you have an Android device, you will be forced to use your phone's native camera app unless you want to shoot most resolutions at 30 fps......
No, FILMIC Pro does not work well either. Don't waste your money on that
Basically this, if you shoot 30 fps video you will be fine with the Smooth 5, 5S or an OSMO 5 or 6.. If you want WA camera and 60 fps at 1080P or higher... NOT HAPPENING ! Learn to use the gimbal of choice with your camera's Native camera app because these apps for Zhiyun and DJI won't work
Hi ye. Great tips. I have the 5S and am having massive problems with keeping my phone horizontal. I have the gimbal about a month and everything I do the horizon is crooked by about 2 degrees. Normally this wouldn't matter too much but I'm an architectural photographer and need everything as straight as possible. I returned the first one that I bought and exchanged for a new one is is out by 3 degrees. Doing the calibration in ZY Cami does nothing. Zhiyun suggested running their own Zhiyun Gimbal Tools software but it also doesn't work. Have you any tips? Phone is the iPhone 13 Pro Max and is perfectly balance before Turing on!
I am sorry to hear that. I would say the same thing as they already told you. Unfortunately I am not sure how to solve this

Is it possible to invert the zoom/focus operation. It seems backwards to me because rotating it away from you it zooms out (wider) rather than in.

A DJI with better mechanical construction type (to make more gymbal moves) that has like 350g workload would be perfect. The mimo app is ok to shoot some shots with all remote options in the mimo app. It´s not ok to pay so much money for stacam app when you want to use a gymbal that you buy from the same company of the app. I think many people buy a DJI for this reason also you can`t make all normal gymbal moves. No, I don’t have the issue. Tried to perform gimbal reset and calibration.
You can via computer to do the Level trim to adjust the gimbal tilt data via the Zhiyun calibration tool.

Hm…. Ok go to their website.. it is a bit complicated but you need to find how to update firmware through computer.. not app. You will need to connect cord to your computer… I’ll address it on Instagram next week.. adding it to the list

I recently conducted a live video test on Facebook using my Zhiyun Smooth 5 gimbal. When I use the gimbal, my recordings have a noticeable rumbling noise. However, this sound is absent when I record without the gimbal. Why does this rumbling noise occur when using the gimbal for live videos? Any help would be appreciated.

Hello!! I’m having trouble having my Zhiyun Smooth 5, it only last 5 seconds before it turns itself off without the charger.. I tried balancing it with the phone and the Smooth 5, but it still turns itself off. For it to not turn itself off, is I have to keep the charger in the Smooth 5. Please help!

I’m not sure if my 5s is defective but when I first turn it on and balance the phone after a few seconds, the gimbal gives up. I have to turn it off and turn it back on and redo the balancing, after this it works sometimes but once I put the gimbal on a flat surface (still with the phone attached) it suddenly “gives up” again. Anyone having the same or similar problem?

Given that the StaCam and ZY Cami apps require you to pay for prime membership in order to access all available features, would you recommend just paying for Filmic Pro instead and using it instead?
I figure I'm already paying for Filmic Pro and I'm not sure I want to pay for Prime membership in these apps; my feeling is that if I have already paid $170 for a product, I should not have to pay the maker of that product even more to unlock features on the item I already paid for, but I realize that's an old-fashioned attitude these days. 🤔 Today everything is about subscriptions and microtransactions. 🫤
