That XJ220 looks even better in that gorgeous dark blue! Every one I've ever seen is that silver colour that seemed standard for these. All these decades later and it STILL looks absolutely stunning! The XJ220 has to be THE best looking supercar ever made!
The design is superb that I can agree and that V6 is superb, not many V6 reach’s that top speed without modifications. Personally is a bonus in the end having that V6 regarding maintenance .
@rafaeloreirorodriguez5278 agree 100%! The XJ220 is a legendary car. They even did a XJ220S that boosted power from 542bhp to 680bhp and that was in 1993!
Is it me or does this car look amazing? It comes out in '92, has it's day and then goes away. It then makes appearances in videos now and again throughout the years as a past master not to be forgotton. It still looks like a new shape- look at it!! Amazing
Thank you for sharing this video. None of the other videos I found on the XJ220 provided insight on the sporting essence and prowess of this machine, let alone at the hands of Tiff Needell. Truly a mystical piece of machinery.
That car aged superbly well. I do dare to say that people will broke their neck’s even more today than when it was launched. And that engine is superb.
400k and the electric mirror controls from a granada or ghia specced fiesta. That hollow door clang jees. It was immense for the era though so so huge with those looks.
I think he sums it up perfectly describing it as a 'refined racing car' which is a great way to describe the supercars of that era as plenty featured cheap parts for 'superfluous' aspects to make them a bit more everyday/road friendly. But it's not Jaguar didn't have a range of cars more appropriate for those needs.
Jaguar should bring out a new super car with similar looks of the 220 but with a nice interior like the pagani. That with a modern engine like the one in the new Gordon Murray car.
А всё было из за слабых покрышек, на самом деле.. .... меньший вес двигателя.... и авто... слабые покрышки могли выдержать.... Машина опередила своё время, но была поставлена в рамки ограничений...
If Elon Musk really had 2 brain cells to rub together, he like i would and most of us, would release a proper V12 like it was supposed to be and astound everyone in the super car world
It aged poorly, no one wanted these as they were so compromised when money got tight at Jag. It made sense, why would anyone (who wasn't a die hard Jag fan and obviously British) buy this over the better looking, more fun and cheaper toys from Italy.
If given the choice between an XJ220 and a McLaren F1, I'd take the Jaguar. If given the choice between an F1, XJ220 and a Ferrari F50... I'd take the F50.
Those lines.. Still a poster worthy supercar.
Tiff is a unbelievable driver. Talking and looking like he's on a Sunday drive, while he's ringing the neck out of a 220 💪
I know people at the time were disappointed that the car debuted with a V6, but I love that it sounds a bit like an old Porsche 911 as a result.
Love how Tiff Needell gives a proper review as if the average Joe could afford an XJ220 lol.
One of the best looking cars ever. I remember seeing xj220 advertised for £150k

R.I.p jermy Clarkson's hieght so he cant drive a XJ220... dang Tiff Needell roasted him too hard
Playing XJ220 on my old Amiga500 brought me here ;)
What a game. Not played it for 30 years but still remember thrash pig on the radio!
Such an unappreciared and underestimated car when it came out. Amazing car and wonderful review back in the day

What a gorgeous shape.

I was 14 when this car was new...loved it then and still do....

Agreed. I remember when it was young it was so beautiful to me. Lots of cars copied this sleek type design.
Stunning sports car. One of the most stylish high performance cars ever designed.
The fastest Rover 200 rear lights in the world! 😂
“What the hell is in that van?”
TG VS TG Australia. Holden muscle car getting smoked by a Transit. xD
Liiiindiiiiisimo Jaguar xj 220!!! Bueniiiisimo!!!
I've always felt Tiff gives some of the best car reviews.

don't worry mclaren f1 has from opel corsa
2023 yrs legendar Jaguar today 👍😎🤙💯

For me, the British Super Sports car more unbelievable and timeless design
400000 in 1992 Pounds converts to about $1,309,000 dollars today.
I have seen this very car at Goodwood. Tuff Noodle.

Lottery win required ...... currently £529,000 on Auto Trader :)
Never understood the bashing of the V6 - this thing would be nowhere near as quick with the old, normally aspirated V12
400 grand in 1992 😮

Still, debatable if XJ13 was not prettier. A very little.
Sucks the guages look like they are out of a 99 silverado. It's almost as if super car maker of this era literally tried to make a upscale Lada.
Many parts from Ford catalogue

let down by that engine and it tells by that exhaust sound awful
It could of been so much better though..
The only correct xolour for the xj220 is green...
That blue is nice.
BEAUTIFUL CAR. BUT FOR THE MONEY THE INTERIOR SHOULD BE A LOT BETTER. LOOK AT THE INTERIOR ON A PAGANI THEY ARE A WORK OF ART.
it was 1992 bro
Who knew Nigel Ferage used to put the doors on the XJ 220!?
THE SOUND OF THE ENGINE IS TERRIBLE.
