As long as I live, the car I want to own the most is an XJ220. One in green, with the grey wheels. It’s one of the most beautiful cars in the world, ever. They still look new. They don’t look like a 90’s car. They’re absolutely achingly beautiful. I have never seen one in the flesh, if I did, I would spend hours admiring its beauty.
Wouldn't fault you for that, they don't credit their filmmakers. Praemio is indeed however a completely separate entity created by the production company, Valkyr. Enjoy!
This makes me unreasonably happy. I live four blocks from where TWR USA had their shop in Valparaiso, Indiana and I was friends with a number of the team. When they started the Fast Masters series, Tony Dowe invited me to stop by the shop one afternoon. I walked in and my jaw dropped when I saw a row of XJ220's all being prepped for racing! I had only seen them in magazines and figured I would never see one in person, and now I was standing in front of TEN of them! I was invited to come down to IRP for Friday practice for several rounds, and I got to ride in the 2-seater "Press car" twice -- once with Davy Jones, and once with Johnny Rutherford. That was an experience I'll never forget. I was really sad when they all went back to England -- I tried to convince them to save money on freight by just letting me drive one home and store it in my garage. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. Still one of my favorite sportscars. Ever. Sleek, curvy, breathtakingly beautiful. The XJ220 never looks old. Thank you for keeping them alive.
Haha, love it when you watch something filmed close to home. Been overtaken many times by these guys 'testing' theirs and customers xj220 including that vivid blue xj220s (iassume it's an s variant) That little bit of road this is filmed on runs between the villages of Yarnfield and Swynerton near Stone in Staffs. It's only a mile or two long but it's genuinely a fantastic little blast!!!
Except unlike the F40 or Stratos, the XJ220 was severely under-appreciated. People were REALLY upset over that V6 swap, even though it was a fantastic engine.
I saw the van in Top Gear. I had a dark blue 1/18 scale XJ220 by Mastio, when I was a teen, and absolutely loved it. The XJ220 is as timeless, and beautiful as a E-Type is. It just goes to show what Jaguar can do when they really try. I can easily understand why Jaguar went with 2wd, but they should have kept the V12, or at lest did a turbo V8. Thank you.
I bought so many Maisto and Bburago model cars as a teenager/young adult, I probably could've bought a goddamn REAL XJ220 instead. Had a whole basement showroom full of the buggers.
I had a 1/12 scale one from Maestro in green. Wish I took more care of it. Honestly one of the best looking cars of all time. It was so right. Just a shame they marketed it as a v12 and 4wd, because it wasn't actually made worse that way.
I love XJ220, always did. I even bought Mike Morton's book about it. What a wonderful machine it is. I wish I could see Law's family workshop inside. I could spend hours there.
Thanks to Don Law Racing. Without them people would've maybe forgotten about these magnificent XJ220's. It has always been my dream car that i've always wanted to own. Maybe one day i'll be privileged enough to own one and i'll then definitely be coming here. Even if i never get to own one, i'd still like to visit them just to see these beautiful creations once.
Great video! I love the XJ220; she's one of my childhood heroes. Twenty-something years later I continue to display a 1:12 scale silverstone green model in my playroom, probably the same as the one you see at 6.00 minutes in to this video. The car's a legend and I think the coolest car Jaguar ever made. It does me good to learn that this car has a preservation group as dedicated as this with so much ready access to original stock, tooling and artefacts.
I totally Agree, For me the Nicest and Best Supercar. It drives like a Go Kart ! (I drove it in Racegames) The Car is very light for it's Size. Once had the Luck to watch it parked at a Hotel,I was amazed, didn't even dare to Touch it, astonishing Design. I am a Big Car Fan,love the Testarossa,959 ,GT40,but this Car is Something Different. My next choice Jaguar would be the Ian Callum MK2 Restomod. th-cam.com/video/htDFMihlHGE/w-d-xo.html Greetings !
@@alfachraz absolutely agree, it's God Tier but not at the tippity top. F40, McLaren F1GTR/F1, is above it. But in terms of Design, it's on the exact same tier as the F40
beautiful, the poor fools who poo pooed this because of the lack of v12 ended up missing out on one of the best "ultra rare" jags of all time. the wood body is absolutely stunning and an incredible snap shot of the history of this misunderstood and obviously underappreciated supercar. thank you for preserving these for the future car affectionados to be able to appreciate and admire.
I have at least sixty 1: 18 size cars from Maisto, BBurago and others brands. I have a red F1 too. Awesome channel, just discovered and already subscribed.
+Juliano B. A. They were less than $10 at Sams club growing up, I only got up to a couple doze though wish I had 60, think I'm gonna go buy more now haha - Jeremy instagram.com/p/BIfwOGADm0k/
Yes, they were way cheaper in the past! But what a sweet collection you have! And lots of sweet pictures on your instagram. Keep up with the nice work my friend.
Don Laws place is just down the road from where i live. It's that well tucked away and hidden, lots of folk drive past daily without even knowing whats there!
What a beauty of a car! My list of the best looking cars ever made: 1) Jaguar XJR-15 (1990) 2) Jaguar E Type (1966) 3) Jaguar XJ220 (1988) 4) Jaguar XK8 (1996).
Such a gorgeous car. The inside is just like a Jag. Soft leather. Power everything. Working a/c. Full interior. Very comfortable. Compare it to a F-40 interior which is bare. Like a seat and steering wheel bare. They did any amazing job with the XJ-220. It deserved better treatment then it got
Love this iconic exotic.... I fall in love with the XJ220 while playing a video game and the passion is still strong! Wish I have one in my garage now... and with XJR-15 V12 : )
This is the most beautiful car ever created. I didnt know you guys existed, i will be remembering this for years until i buy one myself. I know surely now who will be restoring my future obsession or help+ing keeping it in pristine condition. hehe
I'm glad to see this car got the lads to manufacture their own parts which also makes me wonder if it's up to them, they could tool / manufacture an entire jag on their own (chassis included)
Just a WOW car! My personal favourite of the Jaguar Supercars remains the XJR-15, but it has to share it's "one of a kind Jaguar" podium with this XJ220. Car maniacs never have enough money to get them all :`)
Fantastic story. I didn't like the styling when they came out however I have to say now that they have aged incredibly well. I have a feeling that the Mclaren speedtail will go the same way. I remember seeing one of these cordoned off in a Jaguar showroom waiting for its owner. I don't know if anybody has but it would be good to see one as it was destined to be. i.e V12 and 4WD.
Very interesting and respected for what you guys are doing. Please can you tell me the history of the engine? Where did it come from? Is it the same DNA as a 6R4?
Hope u guys keep the 220 model alive...it just doesnt age, the model chasis is going to last forever..ooohhh!!!...if they just make a new engine pushing 1500 bhp...wet dreams....
It is still a remarkable looking car, and I think the video is right in the sense that the Jaguar got some bad press. Certainly elements of the interior were lacking in the refinement department, but the real nail in the coffin was the McLaren F1, which not only dwarfed the XJ220, it redefined the supercar segment.
Where a very common site in & around the Coventry area, seen lots over the years (silver/green/burgundy....). An old man whom lived close by had a burgundy one, looked nice.
I've loved this car ever since it came out in the late 80s. They look so sleek and as though they are going 200mph when standing still. Unfortunately I know I'll never have the chance of even sitting in one as even if I got the chance I don't think I'd be able to get in as I'm disabled and there's no chance or I'd be in excruciating pain.
I was amazed at how much the XJ220 felt like a Jag. You have to sit in an contemporary Ferrari F40 to understand what I mean by that. Many hyper cars back then had unfinished interiors or just really cheap ones. The Jaguar XJ220 was all creamy leather by comparison. As beautiful as the exterior. Simple by today's electronic standard but super clean back then.
such a nice video making and words cannot praise the xj220 .......may i know which background music has been played in this video in the from 5:21 searched for quiet some time couldn't find it thx in advance

It's the same people that run petrolicious videos

Nearly 60 Petrolicious Videos, and these as well :) - Jeremy
Aaron Li it’s funny, never heard of Petrolicious until 2 days ago, now I’m seeing everywhere
with the direction modern super and hyper cars are going this thing looks more modern then ever!
Love the British racing green with the gold wheeles. Looks extra good on the 220.

Three great things I love about Great Britain are the movies, the music, and the cars.

This is fantastic. The XJ220 is beautiful. Well done Valkyr.
Wow, this is fantastic. As a kid I had a XJ220 model in purple, such a gorgeous car.
