Greetings! As a bearer of my father's Hakkanese legacy from Meizhou, I am a living tapestry of perpetual movement and cultural fusion. This heritage, deeply entwined with migration, is further enriched by my mother's Cantonese roots. My father's youthful odyssey to the vibrant Shenzhen, a melting pot of narratives, is where their paths converged. Now, embarking on a journey with my Kansas-born husband, I continue to embody the fluid and adaptive essence of Hakkanese culture, a testament to our enduring spirit of exploration and cultural interweaving.
These are dwelings of the Hakka people. You can find Hakka people in HK also. And many around SEA. I'm also Hakka living in Borneo. My ancestors home? Perhaps you've visited it. I really do not know anyway. But thanks for this video. Perhaps one day I will try and retrace my roots.
And to think that the Americans would have blown these toulous to bits in the 1970s because they thought they where missile silos ....killing my ancestor people ....
I apologize for the amount of times I pronounced Tulou wrong. I know my mistake now! But how cool are these buildings?!
Hakka are the most kind and talented people.

Each Tulou for each Clan, One large family.
Yes! It is amazing to see how close clans would live together and are basically a big family!

Wow! That's awesome! It would be cool if you can find where your ancestral roots are.
I was born In Fujian. Lived in Tulou when I was a kid
Wow! That is so cool. Do you still visit your families Tulou?
Amazing content....... Beautiful couple.....
Thank you for watching 😊
my ancestors home...
An interesting place to visit, but not for living. Too noisy and lack of privacy. It would take one's whole life to accustom that unique style.

Young people nowadays certainly don't want to stay in such remote and poor places for the rest of their lives
This is true! There were a lot of children still there, so it is good to see the families are still growing.
