The term 'a hard head makes a soft ___' describes what's happening to a T. The obstinate insistence on playing a vanilla style game after the tutorial spelled out how things in this mod would be different and having a worse experience for it...yea. Don't know why the algorithm sent such a thoroughly engaging mess of a play through at me but I'm invested. Do carry on stranger.
@@kiddcannibus Oh, but see, i chose a character that doesn't get the tutorial, so nothing was spelled out for me. And yes, I'll be the first to tell you that I am stubborn. To a fault most times. Choosing the character I did knowing that I would not get a tutorial was not very smart. But there's also an adage that says, "what you don't know can't hurt---" ...no, no, that's not it ... "Stupid is as stu--" no. That's not it either... OH! I remember it! It goes something like "thank you for suffering through my video; I'm currently recording the next one." And vanilla is not on the menu.
@@KellenRae First time playing an overhaul mod with fundamental changes to base game and you do what now?? Apologies for my earlier assumption about the tutorial, didn't even know that was an option. Now more convinced than ever this will be an amazing series. 😃
@@kiddcannibus Amazing. That's a word whose meaning can swing many different ways. Currently, it means something like... well, I'll use it in a sentence. "It's so shockingly amazing that I've only died once. So far."

Don't forget the skillz with the primitive stone axe! If this game had a measuring tape, I would be a total baller with that, too! On a serious note, next episode is being finalized today. Keep an eye out for it!
You can craft a pile of stuff & pile of food for small storage things for free to free up space, also craft a fiber bag for more storage capacity. Strive to scrap books and focus on forge ahead magazines. you can craft the books you want, but at a cost of literature fragments from scraping books. tedious but necessary. Been playing for awhile now, it nuts. But I like it.
Yay episode 2! Hey listen if you are not having fun you should listen to your heart! But let me give you some advise. There are other storages you can craft apart from the storage box but you can find nails by farming wood palettes, for example those where you get the tarps and bricks? Grab the contents then hit the wood palette left behind. Also notice on your inventory that there are two types of encumbrances: first the total amount of items and second the overall weight of the items, these can be lessened by a better backpack but things like, wood, rocks, minerals, engines, jerry cans are very heavy and at the start of the game it's crucial that you don't carry too much stuff(you can see your overall weight on your inventory it's the green and red bar on the left, careful aside from moving slow you can also get injured) , which leads me to another point that is make a base inside a house, something small for starters, a bed, a couple of storages, a fire place and a claimblock, also advise for the base to be on a second floor or roof but don't spend to much time on the rain. Chickens, rabbits and deer make the best prey but zombies are atrackted to them so be prepared to fight for your meal 😂 avoid pigs they are very tanky for bow and arrow and sometimes agro without provocation again zombies are atrackted to them and could save you from a small horde. It's your first playthru so don't be afraid to die just remember to have a sleeping bag in a good place. @@memaxcool I'm guessing this is something i might have learned if I did the tutorial. So the character i chose is probably not the best one for a first time with the mod. Good to know for next time, thank you so much!

It seems that way. And I'm thinking back to all of the pallets and furniture I saw... I guess I'm not used to destroying everything just to see what I get from it. In vanilla it was relatively easy to make a forge and craft nails. Learning so much!
I'm deeper into the video now....down on yourself much? I saw GNS play Undead Legacy back in A20...and I thought "that Mod looks cool af", so I downloaded it and played. I died 3 times in the first 10 days. Kept at it, then had a playthrough to Day 100 without a death, just a learning curve, and I bet you can do it. Having said that...if you aren't having fun trying, then fuck it.

I feel it's more appropriate to be down on myself than on the game/mod. User Error, as they say!
And pallets for nails
This makes all of the sense.
Your trying to make the storage chest, so did they remove the wooden chest from the mod ?
Oh it's there! Just requires more mats than you're used to having that early! But yes, it's there... Teasing me.
