    I recently bought a 94 Toyota pickup. It’s got dents, scratches almost everywhere, every body panel is beat up, but it runs strong. It was overheating so the guy got rid of it. The only problem I have with used airbags concerns cars that get totaled before having an airbag-recall replacement done. If it were my car that needed an airbag, I would get a used one, but I would make sure I had the VIN of the car it came out of, and I'd check with airbag-recall database to see if that car had the replacement done. Other than that, I'd have no problem with it.

I called the next day to make a appointment to get the airbags fixed. I was told that they WERE NOT going to fix it because I cost to much. I spoke to 2 different attorneys and told the car dealership what I was told and THE DEALERSHIP GLADLY FIXED THE AIRBAGS AT NO COST TO ME. They had to have a different dealership fix the airbags, I was told by that dealership that it was $800.00 plus their labor charges.

No Electric windows, manual crank windows. Someone was going to buy it but she didn't want manual windows so I got the car and I definitely wanted manual windows. I just keep my cars, but I also maintain them. Never abuse them as I'm good to them then they're good back. However, salvage or not, if insurance companies have a record of SERIOUS DAMAGE (that includes former airbag deployment) then your basic insurance may be significantly higher.
    Have your insurer quote you on any VIN, before paying for the car.

    Its the same Cartype that you show us last Week.And they can make many Fails with the Airbag or the repair of the Accident.They can had hidden Troubles or simply Rust problems.
    I dont know the Laws in your Country,in my Country a hidden Accident ,is a reason to withdraw
    the Contract from the Seller anytime.If you had one Accident, the Insurance pay for the repairing and if you sell the Car,thats a sign of hidden Trouble, that you dont find out
    at a simple Testdrive.A Dealer would give you a warranty on that Car.But can that give you
    that Backyardrepairman and Seller?

    Usually, with salvaged vehicles, issues arise a year or two down the line.. Most likely, at a minimum, the paint will start peeling, then electical, mechanical and suspension problems are sure to come. As always, I hope I'm wrong on this one

    What if a dealership sold you a car that only had “cosmetic damage” and you take it to another mechanic and turns out head gasket and cylinder head is cracked and there’s much more damage under the hood? I’m in this situation right now. They wouldn’t let me take it to a mechanic before buying the car and they pushed the car straight into PDI inspection. I’ve only had my 2017 Chevy Malibu with 44,000 miles on it for 10 days now and have only driven it three times.

    • @jayhockley8841
      @jayhockley8841 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Never let anyone push you into buying a car .
      You need someone with mechanical knowledge, to bring with you , when buying a used car .
      You may have some luck if you contact the Attorney General of your state and tell them what happened .
      many times that will help .
      Also contact a local TV station consumer complaints and tell them about it .
      The " Dealer " might not want the bad publicity on tv.
      but DONT wait
      Do something about it soon !

      You should have walked when they pressured you. And, no inspection, no sale. I would consider legal action at this point, but as Jay Hockley says here, move quickly.

    • @stephaniesmith4105
      @stephaniesmith4105 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jay good advice! I will do that! Bernie the car I had before, which I used to trade in, wouldn’t make it another two months. I am the only one with transportation in the house hold and I take several people to work. I definitely was pressured and naive to think that this dealership was going to put me in a honest working car when I was honest about mine. This is my second car and it was way newer then the last one so I thought I was getting a good deal. But it is currently sitting at the dealership and I’m waiting to hear back what they found compared to the other mechanics. Will be contacting a lawyer in my state tomorrow.
