Man Shoestring your apartment is awesome you decorated it soooooo well I just love it and your balcony is so big and the view is absolutely beautiful you have to get a table and chair and mabe a little bbq. Thank God you are in better health brother. I just love every video you post. I would really love to see you on your new raft and do a little camping and mabe some fishing. You don't know how much your videos mean to me.
Your apartment is darn cool. I know you’re going to enjoy that place. You got woods, water, and hopefully rails nearby. I love the downstairs, that’s so cool.
Being that it has 2 floors it is not a regular "apartment" or "flat", at least in the Western United States... this type of physical layout out West; with the bedroom(s) on one floor, and the living room, kitchen/dining room and washer/dryer hook-ups on the other floor, is called a "townhouse" or sometimes listed as a "townhome". Not sure what it is called in the Eastern or Southeastern United States... possible Mark could fill us in. I would be very surprised if his Rental Agreement listed this 2 story and very spacious residence as merely an "apartment".
Very well, sir, veerryy weell! This is what I like to see: Humble man and well deserved apartment, awesome surroundings as well! Just be aware with that raft when it's sunny day, inside air expands when heated... Very cool looking raft, by the way!
Dan that was really sweet of you to gift Shoestring the raft. Another way to "adventure" in this life. I grew up on a lake and miss it a lot. Happy paddling Shoestring❤❤❤⛵⛵⛵🏖🏖🏖
Bless you Hobo Shoestring you deserve all your success! Friendly suggestion, it would be a good idea to keep both paddles in the boat just in case you lose one. Best of luck at Britt and thanks again for reposting your song!
Man, Mark! That apartment is looking REAL NICE!! Glad your feeling better, too. I caught Covid a couple months back - it kicked my butt real good. Since I have asthma, everyone was real worried. My breathing actually got worse after the sickness was gone. Then I had no energy for about a month afterward. Lost a little of my hair, too. That covid is no joke - can tell it's definitely not natural. Glad you got that raft there - what a generous gift! I used to have one like that. I put a motor mount on the back and attached a Minn-Kota 30 pound thrust trolling motor, and used a big deep cycle battery. With one of those you could go around that entire lake in no time. Pushed me along at about 5 MPH, maybe a little faster. Battery would last a long time, but it was HEAVY. I just set it on the floor and sat on top of it with a cushion most of the time. Sometimes I'd use it as a backrest with the cushion. I got 6 years out of that battery. After a few years, you'll know when it's time for a new one - she won't have the range she used to have. Had alot of fun with that. I have a plastic boat now with a 6 HP Johnson outboard and a 55 lb. Minn-Kota up front. I use the electric for going in the shallow or weedy spots. Can get the boat in where nobody else can, and catch a ton of fish! :)
Thanks Dan and. Carla!! Lake is beautiful!! Place looks great! Nice to hear that Big Blue is your favorite! Mine too lol. I want to send you some more Conrail power and rolling stock Shoesteing! Not sure where to send it??? Great video! He loves you Shoestring! He loves spending time with you! Good for both of you! Thanks for update. B Safe.....
Glad to see you are doing a lot better now and thanks for the tour of your apartment, I don't hear an echo in there anymore since you've got a few more pieces of furniture. Looks great so far and I love the train muriels
Wow, you have a really nice home base. The lake is really cool too. I like the green BN caboose. You’re deserving of those good things. Thanks for sharing Shoestring.
Very nice place Shoe. You keep a very neat and clean apartment. You have a great home base now. Enjoy it, relax, keep healing and be well. Peace brother.
mr. shoestring, you're lucky to have something you love as much as trains. every one of your apartment tours, i feel, ah, such a pity that you can't be a train driver. how lucky is the rare person who loves what they do. but i saw a video about train enthusiast club, and they said there are no railroad people there. to them it's a job, probably a pretty hard and/or boring one sometime, the passion and romance and dream long gone. your dream never died, and you get to ride in cabs, too, and no HR dept. to answer to. please do set up a patreon, as seen from comments, you give a lot of joy and peace to a lot of people, they want to see more of your dreams come true.
Shoestring what a great video. Well worth waiting for. I am so pleased you looking a lot healthier. Can't wait to see the camping video on the island. Your apartment is looking fantastic. Nice to see Kenny xx

Your apartment is most excellent! I'm so happy for you. And you've made it comfy and all your own. An end unit and in Fall and Winter, you'll be able to see the lake better. Those huge train pix are epic!
Sure is a lovely place to live! Great to see a video with a difference. It’s a super apartment. We have trouble with vertical blind fixings, the bits are really cheap on flea bay and very easy to change. I have been known to make them out of gas welding wire, they last forever and it only needs a pair of pliers.
Great video once again Shoestring! I always look forward to them. You really do a nice job. Your knowledge of trains has me watching all the time. My house borders railroad and I've often wondered how many times you've passed. I do see the occasional hobo. Safe travels. 🚂👍
Hey! Glad to see you out and about on the lake. That's a really nice boat. Love your new home base. Beautifully decorated. Home sweet hobo home. Happy to hear that you're feeling better as well🙂

Really nice how you have your place set up Shoe , awesome. I use to go to Hobby Lobby for art supplies, they have a good selection. There’s an old railroad station here in Laurel Maryland that dates back to the late 1800 hundreds and I really like the old one in Gettysburg Pennsylvania too . Really enjoyed watching my friend, take care .

Hi HS - We've conversed in the past, my family loves your channel, and we are donors as well. - In reference to your broken plastic vertical hanging curtains: 1) Get about a quarter-inch drill-bit and a drill; then flip the plastic vertical curtain-strips that are breaking over to the good end where there are no holes. 2) Fold two or three small strips of clear box tape (a tad heavier than your usual "clear-tape") over the the good ends of the curtains, about 3/8 - 1/2-inch over either side (doesn't have to be exact, just enough to be able to drive a hole through the tape and plastic at the good curtain-end, with enough room to spare to fit into the hanger-hook in the overhead sliding curtain track). 3) Use two or three layers of tape, and then use a drill, reamer, or a sharp object to drill about a 3/8-inch hole through the tape layers and curtain-plastic, and now you can hang the curtains "upside-down" with the unbroken, reinforced plastic holes at the top, and the unnoticeable, old broken holes at the bottom. We have a set of vertical curtains across the sliding-glass door between our kitchen and the lanai; and we also had a set at our previous home. We've been using this method for "repairing" the vertical hanging curtains for years without failure, and it will work for you also! Further (although I've never tried this); you could place a tiny drop of Super-glue at the point where the new, reinforced-hole makes contact with the hanger-hook on the upper-track, to make the connection more permanent. - However, try to be gentle with the curtains from now on if you make this repair, as over time everything weakens if you're heavy-handed with it, so you'll want to make sure you, and the kids when they come to visit, draw the curtains open properly, as there's a risk of breaking the upper-hanger. Then you'd have to use "industrial-strength super-glue", "gorilla-glue", or something like that to try to repair the upper-hanger... And then you'd be in a real mess. - - Otherwise, follow the methods and instructions I've given you above and you'll be good to go! I haven't had to repair a vertical curtain for about 6 or 7 years now, and it's all due to the family using more diligence when handling the curtains (using the rod to open them 90° and gently pull the rod horizontally to open them)... But then again, our nephews are much older now, so it's not really an issue anymore! 😊 Hope this helps you out with your broken vertical hanging-curtains. It's an easy "fix", and is durable and long-lasting - - and best of all, costs a heck of a lot less than a new set of hanging curtains! May God bless you mightily, in Jesus' name. - Michael Donehoo and family.

Beautiful lake Shoestring! Beautiful place there! I've left the hills of Kentucky this week and been in Central City Nebraska, I been watching the Union Pacific's roll through and couldn't help but wonder if you ever rode one through there. Happy rafting! And stay well and safe!

I come here for his riding the rails but since he moved into his new place he has been slacking and he said his health is improving.
Hey bud, I’m a new sub. I like your videos. You have a nice apartment. The deck on the second floor is pretty sweet. That’s my favorite. Good lookout. God Bless.
Mr. Shoestring you are a very rare breed. A gentle and kind person who can write the book on being humble. I so enjoy all your videos and look forward to each and everyone...they really make my day. I travel for work over 100,000 miles per year on planes...which I don’t really mind as I’m also a pilot and have a passion for airplanes just like you with trains. I do have a question for you and it is safety related. You camp in wooded areas and I’m wondering if you have had encounters with venomous snakes? Ugh...I hate those things. Wishing you the best from Minnesota!
Shoe - Consider fastening a lanyard to your paddle and slip it over your wrist so you don't accidentally let go of it! Looks like a great place to just relax!

Hey Shoestring glad to see your out and about in your little Boat
Glad to see the upgrade shoestring.
That lake will make for alot of good video content.
Shoe - Consider fastening a lanyard to your paddle and slip it over your wrist so you don't accidentally let go of it! Looks like a great place to just relax!
