    Just turned 76 and take 5g of CM each morning. Started 2 years ago in hopes of holding on to my decent strength and stability. As an exercise buff I can attest that my endurance increased notably but not my strength and certainly not my appearance. I retired @ 74 and told my PCP that I expected to need an antidepressant at some point based on history and solitary life. Two years later I SUSPECT the creatine has helped me change my mind about that. I look forward to exploring your channel.

      Interesting. So you generally feel more positive since taking creatine?

    • @johnwallace9467
      @johnwallace9467 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +11

      Actually I started taking it for its reputed physical effects. I worked in construction and wanted to squeeze a few more years out of my skills. Given the risk profile of Creatine I felt comfortable despite being skeptical of supplements in general. As an exerciser I saw immediate and fairly dramatic results. I couldn't lift more weight but my reps nearly doubled. When I did retire I was fearful of the nothingness as an unattached guy without children. Two years in I'm fine. Does the Creatine help? My gut says yes.

      Have you discovered the I AM LONGEVITY channel on TH-cam? The guy seems like a modern Jack Lalane. I saw one video of his about exercising fast twitch muscles and felt like it was a brilliant idea, at least to experiment with.

    • @johnwallace9467
      @johnwallace9467 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      Not familiar with Mr I Am Longevity but I took a quick look to respond to your comment. Looks like there's useful stuff there but my first insight was his age. He's ten years younger than I am, and I can tell you: It's a big ten years! By that I mean that - as announced recently by the medical research community - we all experience several rather dramatic aging 'steps' that are different from the gradual subtle changes that are the norm. Somewhere around 70 it happened to me, and I'll just say I looked and felt older in a sudden way. Bottom line is that my goals now have little to do with how fast a muscle is twitching but rather How do I manage to stay strong, flexible and sharp WITHOUT hurting myself. As I said before, I believe creatine is helping - at low cost and low risk. Good luck with your own journey!

    Thank you for an informative presentation. I am almost 80 years old and have been under continual stress due to being the sole caregiver for my wife, who has Parkinson's Disease. I experienced many months of 'brain fog' and even light-headedness (for what those symptoms are worth.) I also have neuro-muscular decline, probably consistent with aging. Recent creatine supplementation has cleared things up for me...and I have been surprised.

    This is strange, I asked my psychiatrist after being hospitalized due to severe depression to be precisely bipolar. I asked her if I should continue taking creatine since I am doing work out at the gym, and she strictly advised me to stay away from creatine. I stopped taking creatine and honestly I felt the worst feeling of my life. I am a COVID 19 sarvivor and creatine helped me get back to the gym.I then started taking creatine and I am feeling very good and with energy always,I guess if physicians are not sure of any substance,it’s better not to comment on it.This psychiatrist really mislead me

    Vegan for almost 12 years before supplementing creatine. It is a world of difference for me especially post-workout. It's dangerous to drive especially at night in a downpour after a very intense workout because the muscles are so fatigued. Creatine really helps the backend of a tough workout so I don't feel physically incompetent afterwards. I take magnesium creatine chelate 2.5g (pure creatine no fillers or binders) before a workout and 2.5g after a workout. I have researched every creatine and IMO, magnesium creatine chelate is the best if you got the extra $$. Creapure is the other one I recommend; it is monohydrate form and 99.9% pure which is one bar purity purer than normal creatine monohydrate that tests at only ~99% pure. I don't think carnivores need creatine supplementation at all, and most omnivores are probably getting enough unless they are bodybuilding most days.

      In another video the Dr explained that it causes your muscles to hydrate and that’s healthy for the muscles so that could be some or all of your weight gain.

    I'm going to think about taking Benadryl and Creatine together as a personal experiment, perhaps they were meant to be taken together.

    WARNING: I was hospitalized with one dose of Creatine
    Horrific pain made chemotherapy look easy.
    If you have any kidney issues, even minor ones, it will cause screaming out loud agony.
    This supplement is dangerous and can kill you. Spoke with a gent who's father died of it as well.
    FDA failed us terribly.
    It's appalling to see so many folks touting such a dangerous substance.
    Sorry to have to say it but it was the most terrible pain I've ever experienced as a stage 4 cancer survivor. I know pain but this, worse than dentists, child birth and chemo combined. Fine one moment, took a single dose and was in the emergency room in 20 minutes.
    A truly nightmarish experience.

      When experimenting with a new supplement, I start with 1/4 -1/2 the recommended dose.
      Synthetic Creatine Monohydrate does not sound like a supplement for me.
      Natural source, maybe yes.
      Rather consume more fish, meat....

    • @dianamariewells1437

      Agreed, natural sources and baby step doses.
      Although Creatine will definitely inform you about any kidney damage you may have right quick.
