Especially the soldiers who laid their lives down to prop up my freedom to expose people in government committing felonies, but at the same time, those same veterans propped up the right for those same government felons to not only continue with their crimes as I exposed, but those veterans also upheld those corrupt government employees forcing perfect strangers (aka taxpayers) to bear the burden of any harm they do, because that is what soldiers ultimately uphold when they enforce the political opinions of the most corrupt people in society and deprive any victims of justice.

@@brentruss2168 I struggle to find a single event since World War II where the United States military was fighting to defend our freedom. Even with 9/11 and what followed, none of that ever would have happened if the US wasn't responsible for creating Osama bin Laden and Saddam Hussein in the first place.
The military got hijacked by a crooked federal government and their billionaire friends, and good men have been fighting and dying for the prosperity of a bunch of criminals ever since.

Scarce heard amid the guns below,
We are the Dead, Short days ago We ,felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie, In Flanders fields,

My father carried the '03 Springfield & a 1911 during WWII as a Marine. He gave me his rifle qualification book from 1937, which was based on the 1903. That made me seek out an original 1903. Finally found one dated 1918 with the original barrel. Have a photo of Dad field stripping it at age 90. Some things, Marines never forget. I asked him if they ever had the M1 Garand in his Raider group. He said they "Appropriated" some off of a Army truck once, but he preferred the 1903.

Thanks for consistently posting great content. Wish you would've brought out the 'ol smooth as a Krag carbine again. Last carbine produced specifically for the US Cavalry, first US bolt action, first US smokeless powder cartridge, first US full metal jacket bullet. Civilize 'em with a Krag! By the way, instead of '03s, most doughboys shouldered the clunky sticky bolt Eddystone as did Alvin York. I'll never part with mine because the 'ol Navy Chief who did his twenty from '44-63 and I called Dad bought it as a deer rifle as soon as he parted with the USN. Can't say I enjoy shooting it though. Fun fact: I paid $730 twenty years ago for my current Krag carbine and the the seller told me when he was a kid in the '50s you could buy one at the Benicia, CA arsenal for $2.50!

Liked the carrying handle, but old iron sights can't compare to today's available sighting systems. Carried .45 auto 1911. Got a chance to shoot the M14 in 7.62. Was amazed at the recoil and how heavy and bulky the M14 was compared to the M16. People will be debating ammo selection till the end of time. Thanks for sharing.

    Bravo for Memorial Day content.
My ROTC instructor made a point of firing full auto off his groin to dispel any recoil fears. It was effective. He also made a point of pulling two rounds from the magazines we were using. 20 or 30 didn't matter - minus two. He told us it was to improve reliability. Reason aside, the firearms we used for training didn't fail.
You left out the 30 carbine. But I think I understand why. It was intended to be a replacement for the 1911. Didn't work out so well. Ammo issues plagued it. Not because of the gun or cartridge, but because hot weather deterents were in the powder of ammo being used in minus 20F weather. My uncle and his fellow soldiers kept their ammo under their coats, and they stripped the oil and used graphite lubrication. It worked, but it wasn't a universal approach, so the 30 carbine got an "underpowered" reputation it didn't deserve. Stoner felt that the gas piston system contributed to the poor performance reports about the 30 carbine. That's why he chose direct gas impingement. He felt that direct impingement would counter any issue arising from temperature changes. He was right, but like the 30 carbine, the system was almost scuttled because of poor powder choice. The Army tried to use up the WW2 powder in a system that didn't like that kind of powder. Unlike the 30 carbine, the M-16 survived that initial poor performance by switching to proper powder. Stoner was a man ahead of his time. Or maybe he was just a good engineer who knew what to do to solve a particular problem. Doesn't matter. His name is now engraved in history just like Browning's.

My dad was a Viet Nam era Coastie. Though he didn't serve overseas, their ship was equipped with Garands. He was right handed, but shot left handed. Once in boot camp, they forced him to shoot righty so the clip wouldn't eject in front of his face. As a result, he could shoot from either shoulder equally well. His Garand now resides with me.
