I will probably write more than one comment on this as I've now referred to it... lets see... 3-5x per day for 10 days. So far. So I can safely say '30 to 50 times'. As someone whos eyes are bigger than their skill level, with a (slight!:( ) learning disability- I just had to at this point stop&say: at the 15:00 mark in this video, the face and comment you made, no joke, has helped me have the strength to move on- that exact specific part of the original instructional video has actually upset me(Im sorry to admit but it is what it is, despite how very grateful I am for the beautiful tutorial the patternmaker made for us) - At this specific spot, before seeing your video, I watched over and over including slow motion and literally said out loud: 'What the actual F(...)? Are there 5 steps that just magically happened? Am I stupid and everyone else knows wtf is going on? because I dont😭' Just seeing someone else with more experience than me go 'wtf?' Made me feel so validated. Furthermore stopping to pour myself a drink😂😭 I will comment again when I finally get it right. (Im on my 3rd try). I dont know if youll ever see this, but if you do, please know that your video has supplemented the original video to the point where someone out there is watching it every day and will eventually have a dress. Thank you so much.
I love everything about this comment and am SO happy that I’m not the only ones who struggles! Kind of the basis for my whole channel is seeing the smooth, professional videos out there that make it look so easy, then when you actually try it - it never goes as planned! I try to always include my errors (and how I fixed them - not always the correct fix, but a fix that works!) to hopefully help someone who struggles like I did, and still do! I greatly appreciate your comment, more than you know, and hope that you continue to update me on your progress. Not sure if you’ve seen the full video, but I had to make a sequel to size the waist correctly to fit. So yes, the struggle is real, but does make a beautiful dress in the end. You can do it! Just pour more wine and push on through step by step 😁
Omg this is so awesome! Ive been wanting to sew with this pattern for ages but im so scared! Ive been planning to do it now and have been researching on people’s experience with it. This tutorial makes me feel more confident to take on this dress! Your honest mishaps are life-giving to a novice like me lol! You deserve a bigger following on your channel!
You just made my November!!! Thank you for your kind words! I’m still learning and like to show my mistakes in hopes that others can correct theirs, too. Or be inspired to just start. Please try it! You’ll do great 😊 I did have to take it in at the waist, which was easy to do. Choose a nice, flowy fabric and you’ll love how it turns out!
I dont have this pattern but love the video just for the clear explanation on how to finish things in a neater (more expensive looking way). I will probably draft this myself so it fits more perfectly - I also am not too keen on patterns.
Hi! Thank you! Yes, I was very happy with how professional her pattern is, especially with the finished. But yeah, still hate patterns! Good for you on drafting your own - impressive!
Just found your channel, your hilarious, and hello.... wine while sewing👍👍. The dress is lovely and color looks amazing on you. I've never seen bias seen on like that, I think it's to start right sides together to encase all raw edges. Am definitely going to try this pattern
Some seamstress beeswax run lightly on the thread stops those annoying tangles. As for the tangles on the button tape, a blunt needle for knits might have worked. Amazed you got all that dress from 3 yards!
Thank you! Interfacing adds structure to an area of your garment - often found in cuffs and collars. It comes in different weights depending on how stiff you want it. Great question!
Hi! Thank you!!! Here’s the link for the pattern :) enjoy!!! www.etsy.com/listing/1030879443/buttoned-v-neck-dress-and-blouse-eu-32?ref=shop_home_active_2&crt=1
This helps so much. I'm very thankful for this video! I got very confused with the original tutorial when assembling top and bottom of the shirt piece especially the right side. Have you done D cup ? a 1,8 cm must be snipped and it just seems odd because the button loop starts at 1cm.
I was confused SEVERAL times but it always ended up working! I don’t use patterns much. Pretty much all my other videos clone my own clothes if that’s easier for you. It’s definitely easier for me! I haven’t tried the D cup, but I would suggest lining it up and snipping what matches. Either all 1 cm or all 1.8 cm would probably work best. You can try contacting the original pattern maker, too. Her video is linked in mine. Good luck!
Have you figured out how to do the D-cup? I've done this pattern twice now and had to do it in two different (but wrong) ways to try to make it work, I just can't understand how it's meant to be done! Next time I try I think I will try placing the first button loop further down.
I ended up placing the first button just a little lower than recommended on the pattern and it worked better. My first attempt endend up decent except for the first button who is unusable - its too high.

Thanks so much from Spain, I love the way that you show us your sew -along.
Hola Patricia!!! Thank you! I totally recommend trying this pattern 😀
You come through looking very good on your video. Really nice job on the dress! Such a professional you have become. I am proud of you. Love Mom
Awww thank you, Mom! You were my first inspiration ❤️
I had the same experience with the loop trim when making this pattern! Redid it like 5 times 😆… your dress came out beautiful !
So it wasn’t just me! Every. Single. Time. I still don’t understand why! Thank you for making me feel better 😊
Wow! I'm impressed! You're my hero! I don't think I'd be brave enough to try this without skipping a million steps😅
Haha! It went better than I was thinking it would. You can totally do it!
@@ImSewExcited 😄 if I can work up the courage!
I just found your videos and I really like the format and how well you explain everything. :)
Thank you so much and welcome to my crazy videos! Your comment makes me very happy 😃

Haha! Wine makes everything better! That makes me so happy to hear that you enjoyed the video - I try to make them fun 😄 let me know if you try it!
Lookin good my friend!
Thank you so much! Hope you're doing well :)
Wow - amazing job, looks great for all that work!
Thank you! This pattern makes a beautiful dress.

Thank you for the tips! It’s a beautiful dress, even though I’m not a fan of patterns 😂
I love it !! The pattern and the fabric
And really love the seamstress !!
Awwwww shucks ❤️
Nice job - so what is interfacing and why do you need it?
Thank you! Interfacing adds structure to an area of your garment - often found in cuffs and collars. It comes in different weights depending on how stiff you want it. Great question!
Dress looks great. Where can I get the pattern.

Great advice! I’ve only tried this pattern the one time, so I applaud you for trying it a few times to see what works best!
Hmm I like your videos mostly except for when your American-ness comes out in your annoyance at cm. You know the whole rest of the world uses metric.
Haha! Yes, we are definitely in the minority of not using the metric system! But you know what you know :) thanks for tuning in!
