- Sometimes is a song I wrote while on tour in Asia last year. I had a really bad day dealing with my own anxiety issues and I kind of let it get the better of me. I started writing the song in my hotel room to help me calm down, music has always helped me in that way. For me It’s a song about accepting the bad days and trying to stay positive.

My mum had a seizure last night, my dad is sick and not with us. We're broke and everything is shut. I didn't know what to do. But somehow I brought some medicines for mum and food for us. And this song pops up as if to remind me that shit happens and I've got to stand tall.
To all the people who are suffering, be strong. You'll shine one day. Because I read somewhere that Broken crayons color too.

For the longest time, I have struggled with coping with my anxiety, and this song makes me happier, makes me feel like I'm not alone, like my world is not falling apart. Oh, you're very blessed, a lot of people in depression are just giving up because they can't fight depression. Me and you are blessed! And how it was to spend unusually happy times? It was very unbelieveable to me to spend it. I laughed very loud at little things. It came very unusual happiness that I never felt, it was so beautiful. Sometimes I wish to take back this times and repeat them again.

This instantly became my favourite Kodaline song. I've been struggling with anxiety and depression for the past years. It's so hard, and people that don't suffer from it really do not understand what we feel in our heads: the fear, the loneliness... Some days are better, others are an absolute nightmare. Leaving the house is, sometimes, a victory. This makes me feel so comfortable on the inside, it's like he is singing to us. It's perfect, thank you Steve and thank you Kodaline!

This song came out a few days after I tried to kill myself. My girlfriend died on New Year's Eve. I was supposed to graduate from uni this year but all the stress that's been building up over the years suddenly got to me so I was advised to take the semester off. The grief is constantly there but some days are harder than most. During the break, I've slowly started taking care of myself both mentally and physically. I started working out again, sparring, training. Focusing on my other hobbies and interests outside of academics. Then the outbreak happened and all of a sudden I was stuck at home, unable to do the things that helped me start feeling better. A few days ago, it all just hit me at once. I was alone with my thoughts and I just wanted everything to stop.
I felt so alone but this song made me feel heard. I've still been pretty down the last few days but I'm gradually starting to feel a little better. This song is definitely helping so thank you, THANK YOU for this.
EDIT: I appreciate all the kind words. Though, there's one thing I just wanted to point out. I'm a lesbian 😅 but again, thank you! I wasn't expecting this to get anything. I just wanted to share my experiences.

I just saw this as an ig story. But never have I expected that it would give me the feeling that the song was actually written for me, and just like the rest of us. I’m suffering from my anxiety and depression from the accident that caused my epilepsy and the medication side effects on me. My friends can’t understand me, because they are too “cool” and “unbothered “ and they are too “high” about their life to care for their once a great friend. I used to be on top of my game, the fame, the grades, etc. But once I got my condition now, they all left me. Well, I’m figuring out how to still get the most out of life, and I hope everybody here too! 💖
