Out here in Westport I mostly catch pile perch. The stripped perch strike the bait differently. They feel like shiner perch biting on my hook and, most of the time it is the shiners. I only catch about 5 stripped a year. My first one this year was pregnant. I released it unharmed. It was my biggest one measuring at about 12 inches. I almost broke my personal best size on pile perch this year. It measured at 17 inches. 2# My best is 17 and one quarter. It made me smile. Thanks for the comments.
Hello 👋 Great video 😄 I really like pile perch and would like to ask what bait did you use to catch it? I can’t see clearly in the video, I really want to know what kind of bait it is😄Thank you very much🙏
Ive never seen someone have that much kelp cod luck right in that spot. Unfortauntely for me casting from the float 20 bridge to there is a looooong way to cast
We used to catch lots of those Pile and Rainbow Perch in Sinclair Inlet years ago. The Rainbows were pretty tasty, lots of bones, though.

Looking for crabbing spot recommendations
This time of year you can only use ring traps. Tokeland WA. has a decent dock and Westport WA. has a good crabbing dock.
