Nice video. Crabbing is on my bucket list. I love those castable nets. I live down south and want to fly up there for a few days and give it a whirl. Thanks again.
Come to the PNW best Dungeness crabbing around. Love that I am 1.25 hours from the oregon coast. Have had a lot of luck from the pier and bridges when I don’t feel like towing our boat over for the day.
I learned how to crab in the PNW. Newport was one of my favorite spots. I have some videos from the south hefty and more. You should check them out. Thanks fir watching.
@jerome spencer , awe bummer, I always have good luck crabbing on the south jetty. I have some videos on it check it out. Thanks for the compliment on the video. I'm really trying to do better.
I sold all of my box traps and purchased six of those traps. Two for my wife, two for our daughter and two for me. What a great and "light trap" to carry and they work great. Crab in Oregon don't they need to be 5-3/4" or is it 6" ? Tight line
Dude, hate to be rude but you need a boat. Even a 8' to get a little deeper to catch Dungeness😅 I catch them in 50' to 60' here in Washington State. All 6-1/4" or larger.
Thanks for watching, brother. I'm a full-time traveling angler and was in the area for a couple months. I'm in Arizona now. We are trying to come back this fall. Check out all my other videos.
@niceguyschool It has been a while, but I believe it was half moon bay. I would have to go back and check. It's been a couple years and it was my first time there.
Looks like you’re in Florence Oregon and you’re on the Salluce low River saloon, slow River I don’t know how to spell it Siuslaw river that’s it that’s it. I lived there for five years and caught crabs and salmon and that was at the bar.😂
Awesome info! Keep on making these great videos!
Thank you.
I grew up on them docks! Heading to this exact spot in a few hours when the tides right! Thanks for sharing!!

It's 5 3/4", but regulations change often.
@@moralesoutdoors It has been 5 3/4" for the past 50+ years in Oregon.

What line/rope are you using to cast your traps
It's nylon line that is permanently fixed to the traps. There is a link in the description for the traps I used. The line comes with the trap.
Keep your scale on a lanyard around your neck. Nice vid.
Great Idea! Thank you so much.
What jetty were you on, towards the end?
I tell the exact locations somewhere in the video to encourage people to watch the entire video.

like how you fling TRap......gonna get traps for big Jimmie Blues on my river
What state and river?
good job bro-hey-get a string and a clip so you an attach that gauge to your belt loop
@Jim Downey Thank you for watching brother. Excellent idea, I will do that thank you.
Those collapsible traps seemed to work really good, where did you buy those? You mentioned walmart initially but I've only seen the string snares.
I purchased those at the wally world in Newport Oregon.
How have you been man
My dude!! What is up! How have you been. I talk about you a lot.
When u almost lost the gauge, I paused vid immediately and put a lanyard on mine🤪
Lmao 🤣 🤣 🤣, bro!
Every boat owner dumps their crap at their moorings. I don't crab at the jetty - Yuk!
That's everywhere in the USA you can't get away from it. Thanks for watching.
It is illegal for ANY boat to dump sewage at ANY dock in Oregon
