    Nice video. Crabbing is on my bucket list. I love those castable nets. I live down south and want to fly up there for a few days and give it a whirl. Thanks again.

      Come to the PNW best Dungeness crabbing around. Love that I am 1.25 hours from the oregon coast. Have had a lot of luck from the pier and bridges when I don’t feel like towing our boat over for the day.

      I learned how to crab in the PNW. Newport was one of my favorite spots. I have some videos from the south hefty and more. You should check them out. Thanks fir watching.

    I sold all of my box traps and purchased six of those traps. Two for my wife, two for our daughter and two for me. What a great and "light trap" to carry and they work great.
    Crab in Oregon don't they need to be 5-3/4" or is it 6" ? Tight line

    • @moralesoutdoors
      @moralesoutdoors  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's 5 3/4", but regulations change often.

      @@moralesoutdoors It has been 5 3/4" for the past 50+ years in Oregon.

    Dude, hate to be rude but you need a boat. Even a 8' to get a little deeper to catch Dungeness😅 I catch them in 50' to 60' here in Washington State. All 6-1/4" or larger.

      Thanks for watching, brother. I'm a full-time traveling angler and was in the area for a couple months. I'm in Arizona now. We are trying to come back this fall. Check out all my other videos.

    What line/rope are you using to cast your traps

    • @moralesoutdoors
      @moralesoutdoors  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's nylon line that is permanently fixed to the traps. There is a link in the description for the traps I used. The line comes with the trap.

      @niceguyschool It has been a while, but I believe it was half moon bay. I would have to go back and check. It's been a couple years and it was my first time there.

    Those collapsible traps seemed to work really good, where did you buy those? You mentioned walmart initially but I've only seen the string snares.

    • @moralesoutdoors
      @moralesoutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว

      I purchased those at the wally world in Newport Oregon.

    Looks like you’re in Florence Oregon and you’re on the Salluce low River saloon, slow River I don’t know how to spell it Siuslaw river that’s it that’s it. I lived there for five years and caught crabs and salmon and that was at the bar.😂
