    I installed these 4 years ago in my 2020 Tacoma and they’ve held up well. Another benefit of them is when towing, they help hold the tongue weight and help stabilize the load.

    We have the black Sumos holding up a Four Wheel Camper. I'll admit our truck is overweight with camper and gear on long trips. But it's worked fine on our 2018 with the camper on 99% of the time. Better than air bags since there's no need to pump in air, or deal with leaks. Better than another leaf spring? Well... I dunno! But super easy to install and so far, so good.

    I've got the 1,400 lb. Sumo's front and rear on my 2020 offroad. I wound not say they are stiff. Quite the opposite. They greatly improved my ride and allow me to carry more weight without the rough bottom outs. Well worth the expense.

  • @unikornkontroller

    I've had sumo springs (black) for the past four years to help with squat when towing our trailer. Yes, the ride did stiffen substantially. I wouldn't dare do any aggressive off roading with these as you'll want more travel. The only issue that I might have it feathering of my tires. I'm not 100% sure if this is from the springs but my alignment is spot on and my shocks and springs are fine. I'm not sure if the extra bounce I get from the stiffer ride is causing the feathering.

    • @teamoildrop

      I can't see how as proper installed Sumos have a tiny gap during normal opertating just like a bump stop...

      @@teamoildrop I was referring to towing and the sumos are under compression. But even when not compressed there's not a huge gap there. It doesn't take much to activate the sumos.

      @@unikornkontroller are we referring to the rear tires? They are the ones feathering? I just have a hard time thinking the sumos could be the cause.

    • @unikornkontroller

      @@teamoildrop not entirely sure. Noticed it on all four tires but they’ve seen several rotations (40k miles). My theory (and it may be a lame one) is that the excessive bounce I get from the stiffer sumos while towing may have caused it. Again, just a theory but my alignment is totally fine and the truck only has 44k miles on it.

      For our 2018 Taco with Four Wheel Camper loaded: there is a gap between Sumos and bump stop without the camper on the truck. With the camper, it restored about the right rear height. So the unloaded truck is not "lifted", but the loaded truck is.

    • @rubberlegs

      Let me add that I don't feel any difference in normal gentle driving when the truck bed is empty. That's because of the gap between Sumos and bump stop. However, when there's a big load on the back due to payload, or aggressive maneuvering... now that's when they come in handy!
