Hey Cody, It would be interesting to see how much radiation that your copper jacket is able to prevent. Is there a safe way to test that? I mean, being copper, it should work pretty well. Just an interesting thought I had.
Maybe he could put a decimetre inside his chainmaille or inside a mannequin with the copper chainmaille on and then hold some uranium or something close to the jacket and see how much radiation the decimetre picks up
When I was in my early twenties I worked at a meat plant and wore a steel mesh apron. The shedding was a problem with that one too. Every day when I took off my apron my work shit was several shades darker.
You're such a dork, man, but what a smart and productive goof you are! It's fun seeing you geek out over stuff you make, and it looks very well done, I remember seeing the first chainmail video!
I was going to recommend a kevlar jacket then you showed one :)) But it doesn't look like a quality product so you could stitch up your own kevlar jacket with multi-layers etc and perhaps it could stop some small arms, it would be a fun project i think.. Also gold coating that chainmail would increase both it's value and classiness greatly, also fix copper problem but im not sure if too much gold needed.
Ggoddkkiller Im sure he could use something like titanium for that . It would be increadibly tough and compeletely not toxic , also still 100% rust resistant

Also, thank you for making videos that you find interesting instead of trying to cater to the YT algorithm. Keep on keeping on! Don’t forget to take time for yourself and try to enjoy the ride which is daily life while we are here on this earth for a relatively short amount of time in the grand scheme of things.

Well said dude.
This one channel that i feel more connected to than nearly any other. Cody is so real. I feel his videos are more of a documentation of his daily life than simply youtube videos to appease the masses or algorithm. I don't know the guy personally but I feel like i know the real man from watching years of his videos and would call him a friend if i ever saw him. I wish you well Cody. Stay true and keep being you.
norweeg both your message and profile pic make me extremely happy!
My heart goes out to you sir. You deserve a lot more views. I respect the science and attention to detail you have. Thank you for another video Cody, stay safe.
I just want to say I love this channel. Thank you for all of the work you've put into it over the years.
I'm wondering how often you tend to get slashed and stabbed if you feel like chainmail isn't really enough protection and you need to add some layers of kevlar with it too :D
A kevlar gambeson would be great armour!
@Please Complete All Fields He almost definitely thought of the strength of the metal he was using long before starting, and I also don't believe his original goal was to use it as armour.
@@bmoss1318 kevlar is really bad at stopping knives and spikes
@@GiskardRevenlov That's actually a myth. Kevlar is very good at stab protection. I don't know who is responsible for perpetuating that myth, but it seems like a lot of people think that. Almost all stab vests are Kevlar.
@@xenonram I think that has to do with the fact that ballistic kevlar vests aren't as good as stab proof vests in protection against blades
Cody, man, you've just spilled your jacket all over the wall! :D
I like how his haircut makes him look like he did back with his first ever chainmail video. The "returning from double gravity" or something
Cody is like an anime character, when he takes his copper chainmail and ankle weights off, he travels at superhuman speed.
Just discovered your channel and am thoroughly enjoying it, and a guy who wears chainmail to the store is a dude in my eyes! Keep up the great work and all the best in these crazy times.
Are you okay, Cody? You seem quite upset or frustrated especially in your recent videos and in this one. You obviously don’t have to answer, but I just want to look out for ya. Hope everything goes well!
Hes dealing with a breakup among other issues perhaps.
He will get there im sure
Adding to what Richard said, he’s been talking about it to some degree on his twitter. He’s been sleeping in cars and couches for the past year because of it, since his own bed is too much for his mental health.
@@alexsiemers7898 it can certainly take time. I had a failed marriage and having the person you thought loved you unconditionally leave can be a big blow.
He is still feeling the loss. But i hope his followers can help pull him through to the other side.
Because there is the other side and now i have a family of 3 and happier than ever.
i think the reason was on the graph. im getting the same vibe. cheer up Cody, things always line back up
We're here for you, Cody.
I appreciate how much effort you put into your videos and how much knowledge you're able to share that I never learned in chemistry and geology class, and the enthusiasm you have for thinking up and following through on fun projects.
"Modern medieval Knight kills 2 with a hammer"
Senator submits the "Hammer Control" bill!
Cool! Didn't know that the chainmail were fitted in the front and back, impressive work. But do not wear your joints out prematurely, you are a young lad and all that weight above your hips could fcuk up your knees too soon. Love your videos!
Beats being 40lbs overweight I guess.
That's what his doctor said.
And weighted clothes doesnt really improve fitness though daily use. But... chainmail is cool
I also think it's probably a bad idea but hey, makes him happy so whateves
This is where the exo-skeleton comes into play..
Imagine a guy taking you to his home and then when he takes his jacket off he's wearing chainmail
I fucking love your channel man, been watching for years and don’t plan on stopping
I like the sentiment of the extra weight for exercise however the extra weight adds extra stress to joints/tendons. The trade off probably isn't worth it.
Healthy joints would easily deal with it
@@herkiee1 thing is that wearing this results in unhealthy joints, Just like how overweight people often het joint problems even when they regularly move around.
Glucosamine is your friend
40lbs when you weigh 180ish is negligible risk on your joints, especially since the weight is distributed across his chest.
@@Dontwantmyactualnamehere well, the weight is not even that much and evenly distribuited, bulding more muscle mass would help for sure
"a hammer is not as eye-catching as a sword" true words
A sword would kinda look really cool tho. I think I might've gone for the sword if legal and if it doesn't restrict movement too much
@@muncherofpizza A compromise;
Warhammer.
@@The_Keeper That is a nice idea.
I'd doe better though, a warhammer on one side and a handpick on the other
Don´t let Thor hear this.
@@thomasforsthuber2189 *one* hammer isn't as eye catching as a sword. One hammer and a warhammer however...
Well, some say when cody takes the copper suit off, he can jump up to space.
NASA is still wondering why.

Cody: "copper is actually surprisingly toxic to all forms of life, which is kinda nice"

Cody you’re looking a lot healthier in your mental state now than you did a few months back. Happy for you brother
I used to watch you when I was a lot younger and you got me into metallurgy/science! It's weird to see how you've went from mercury/chemical experiments to mining to whatever is going on now. I hope you keep making fun videos and maybe try making a sword to go along with the suit ;)
He's a renaissance man and a TH-cam legend (at least in my book).
Thank you Cody for being you. (Wish I had friends like you)
In my small Podunk town, I'm like the smartest kid on the short bus...
Don't forget bees and spacetravel!
If I recall correctly he was meaning to make a knife from blood extracted iron which would be badass. Not a sword but close enough.
The haircut looks great on you, Cody.
I felt bad he cut his hair.
Much better!
I'd stick to some variant of sharp-dressed cowboy cut&shave amd claim it as a business expense.
Agreed.
He looks very American now.
Will redo the sleeves
*2 years later*
Hey Cody, you're awesome man, keep on trucking through. It'll be hard but it'll get easier over time. Just keep doing what makes you happy!
You make me laugh and I think your projects are totally awesome.
Love your channel Cody
Hey Cody, It would be interesting to see how much radiation that your copper jacket is able to prevent. Is there a safe way to test that? I mean, being copper, it should work pretty well. Just an interesting thought I had.
Anthony Stanley interesting, curious about this too
Watch episode 2 of CHB
I can only assume it would stop EMR as much as steel ringmail would. its essentially a faraday cage lol
Maybe he could put a decimetre inside his chainmaille or inside a mannequin with the copper chainmaille on and then hold some uranium or something close to the jacket and see how much radiation the decimetre picks up
I am also now interested. Also a walk-in microwave would be a thing haha
You need a tail dragging on the ground. We wouldn't want to restrict your potential.
Cme, emp, or just walking by stray voltage.
Honestly that is a good, if slightly paranoid, idea.
@Mycel i don't think lightning actually directly strikes people. Just nearby
"restrict your potential", I see what you did there...
"I like the feel and look of copper"

That's funny cause where I live Cu means a**hole.
@@jackaioria1519 We love those too.
I was going to recommend a kevlar jacket then you showed one :))
But it doesn't look like a quality product so you could stitch up your own kevlar jacket with multi-layers etc and perhaps it could stop some small arms, it would be a fun project i think..
@@lgbt2686 Titanium would be great but im not sure if he could hand-work titanium with his limited equipments
Hey cody do you ever plan adding more of the precious metal refining videos. They were my favorite. Love the vids
Been waiting for this update for 2 years, looks great!
Just Wanted to say, thanks dude, your awesome and always bring a ray of cheer to my life with your vids x
I just love how passionate he is about this project
The line graph showing your weight loss when your lady moved out was sad. I feel for you bro it must suck.
I swear he's gonna start flying once he takes the weighted clothes off in the next arc

Oh Cody, I know this video is oldish now. But it is new to me. I can hardly type. The tears of laughter are blinding. You are so funny!
You are a legend, Cody! Thanks for keeping us updated!!!
"I kinda want it to go down to here, with gloves and a helmet"
So effectively, you are making a faraday suit out of copper
Your hair looks so good. Nice cut!
This whole poison thing going on reminds me alot of Iron Man

Wish there was more content like this on TH-cam. Cody is a treasure.
The dedication and thought going into that armor is astounding. Wish I had the time/money to do that
*”That’s how I justify having this...”*
Why on earth would someone feel like you *NEED* a reason to make/own a chainmail suit!? It’s a freakin *CHAINMAIL SUIT,* that’s the only reason needed!!😆❤️👍
Man so much good content out tonight! Codyslab, Steve1989MRE, boostedboiz, cleetus.
This is the first time I've seen Steve mentioned outside of Ashens' comment section. Though to be fair, I don't watch any MRE channels or videos.
Some AvE videos yesterday
You are one weird guy, mad respect bro, mad respect. Keep it going.
Wow! Can't believe it's already been 2 years! Love your stuff, Cody, keep em coming!!
Good to see you doing better Cody! You are one of the reasons I have been able to pass my Chemistry class in University
Have you thought about teaming up with Adam Savage over at Tested? He loves armor and would get a kick out of seeing this. He could also provide some tips on how to pattern it.
He could also provide you with a stray cannon ball to test it.
No standing on a hill in a storm, cursing out the Gods for you sir!

In ten years Cody will wear a new kind of armor the developed that can even stop anti-tank amunition. Just so he can do even more crazy experiments.
